Okay so the ambiance leaves much to be desired, but who cares when you are eating incredibly delicious tacos! During my road trip from San Francisco, I’ve been fortunate to feast on many a fish taco. These were by far the best! Even the little corn tortillas were tasty. This little taco truck is a true diamond in the rough. At $ 1.75 a pop, the fish tacos are a steal. Tacos de pollo were $ 1.50 each. Great find!

The tacos and the carne Asada burrito I had were excellent. Way better than the Mexican food restaurant we went to for dinner the same day and spent twice as much more. Excellente! Bravo! Magnifico!

Favorite place to stop for a quick, delicious lunch. Affordable, fresh salsas are amazing. Carnitas anything is the way to go!

Excellent! My husband and I have stopped here twice now and the tacos are amazing. This past weekend we tried the indoor seating area. It was very clean, plenty of seating and they had a station with the hot sauces inside as well as outside by the truck. Next time I will have to try something new from the menu, but the tacos are so amazing, its hare not to order them every time! Clean, fast service, and amazing food!

If you want good Mexican food, go down HWY101 into Seaside. The Stand, Guadalajara, and Casa del Sol will all treat you well. The guys at this place will not. Food is mediocre at best. But the reason for the one star is because they charge you extra and wait to see if you notice. Yes, I talked to the owner. No, he was not apologetic or even embarrassed. He should be.

The best tacos here in Astoria. Great little taco truck that provides quality over quantity. The owners are so nice there is a selection of of salsas and other different condiments.

We ate here in May 2015 and it was the best meal of our entire road trip through Oregon. Best pork taco EVER. I went back to buy a round of them for the entire table b/c I didn’t want anyone to miss the wonderfulness. I also like that this rises above the usual taco truck b/c it has tables and bathrooms.

As a local, I’ve never been afraid of the taco bus at the old abandoned gas station by the Astoria roundabout. Tourists may be put off by its location, but that just means less of a line for us Coastals! Though I’ve never been when there wasn’t at least 3 customers ahead of me, the wait is still only about 5 minutes to get your food. Amazing! They are so friendly and helpful when deciding what choice of menu items to get. Their green and red sauces are a must, with the red being the spicier of the two. But I found the star of the show to be the pico de gallo! Addictive! I ordered the Asada(beef) burrito, $ 8, and enjoyed every bite! Next time, I will order it without refried beans, just because I think it takes away from the steak flavor a bit. Burrito comes with: meat of choice, Mexican rice, refried beans, cheese, sour cream, lettuce, and I had them add onion and cilantro at no cost. The burrito was huge and the tortilla was so soft and delicious! I wonder if they’ll just sell me some of those tortillas to take home? With a vat of that pico de gallo too, please! I can also say that I’ve tried their spicy pork tacos, beef tacos, beef tongue tacos, beef tortas, and quesadillas and have been happy with all of it! Tacos are $ 2.50 each. They have indoor seating and covered outdoor picnic tables, or you can wait in your car for your order. Bottled sodas and pictures of their menu items that help in the ordering process.

Ive tried the tacos burritos and nachos all are very good i had the spicy beef burrito today i think that is my favorite meat selection so far. Id say the tacos here are the best but i get the burritos because of the size. The complaints about the size of the tacos arent really justified because of the price how can you beat $ 1.25 taco? You cant.

Seriously, the best burritos in town! Large and full of flavor. My daughter LOVES the veggie burrito, this is a must-go whenever she comes home from college. My husband likes to try all of the different burritos, while I tend to stick with the chicken. They have something for each of us :-) Reminds me of the burrito trucks we used to visit when in SoCal, but this one is better, because it is just a short little walk to enjoy this one with a Columbia River view.

The tongue taco was superb. The pickled onions and habanero salsa were perfect on the burrito, which was spicy pork. The only thing I would say to improve the burrito is more meat, it seems like there were more beans and rice than meat, but it was delicious and we cannot wait to go back and try other items on the menu. Mexican food is hard to find done right. This place does it right. Hubby had the spicy beef and we both thought the pork was better. But that tongue! So tender and delish.

I had a couple pork and beef tacos which I thought were okay. Ingredients were meat, cilantro, and diced yellow onion on a double stack of 2″ tortillas — that’s it. Very basic ‘street tacos’. Portions were small. I thought it could(and should) have been double what was provided. The amount of meat on mine was nowhere near the pictures posted by others. Mine had about a tablespoon of meat each. Tasty but nothing to rave about. Popular spot. Very busy when I stopped by so, maybe everyone else Unilocaled it too. Or, maybe the other stuff is a lot better than their tacos.

It’s 30 minutes before your second shift of the day starts and your belly is screaming for some fuel, but you only have $ 3 in your pocket – what do you do? Roll through the nearest burger king and fill up on «chicken» nuggets? HELLNO. Go grab yourself a couple of tacos from this truck!(But be sure to leave a tip because they deserve it.) I’ve had plenty of tacos from the plethora of Mexican restaurants here in Astoria, but never from any trucks on the side of the highway before – so I’ll admit I was a little skeptical when I arrived this afternoon. The exterior of the truck looks as shabby as the term«taco truck» would make me expect, with several hand-written and weather-worn menus posted on the outside and a salsa bar constructed from an open ice chest and some Tupperware. Next to the truck there’s a few picnic tables and even an old converted gas station offering a small indoor dining area for your dining convenience. Appearances aside, El Asadero offers a variety of lunch specials, burritos, and tacos all at very affordable prices. The tacos are 1.50−1.75ea, burritos are in the 7 – 8 range, and more complex lunch plates go for around 10. For what you’re getting this is a steal! There is also a selection of beverages and chips if you are in the need. As I previously illustrated, I ordered two chicken tacos(to-go). When the cook handed me a tiny paper bag I was confused at first, thinking there had been some sort of miscommunication – but as I sat down in my car and unwrapped the tinfoil package inside I realized that my eyes are just bigger than my stomach. This was exactly what I needed to get me through my next shift: two tacos, made with a generous serving of minced chicken cooked with onion and cilantro, each on two warm, soft corn tortillas.(All for 1.50 each? WHAT?!) The chicken is tender, moist, and was thankfully not over-seasoned to the point of making it a meat guessing-game. I got a side of Pico de Gallo(my favorite salsa option) and it added just a touch of spicy to make this meal a little moment of bliss on a busy day. I am excited to try El Asadero again, and highly suggest you do too.

It’s almost unbelievable how amazing this guy’s food is. It’s the best taco truck I’ve ever encountered. Growing up in the Northeast, I probably wasn’t exposed to the best Mexican food. But, let’s face it, Astoria’s not exactly south of the border, either. But if I was Stevie Wonder and I was eating one of this guy’s tacos, I might just think it was.

Better than expected! Most burritos are about $ 7 and most tacos about $ 1.50/$ 1.75, with many meat options such as asada, chicken, carnitas, spicy pork, beef tongue, etc. There are also plates available, as well as quesadillas, tortas, and nachos, and the truck sells canned and bottled sodas(Pepsi, Coke, and Mexican sodas) and packaged snacks like chips. A steady stream of customers, mostly take out, after noon on a Wednesday. Three picnic tables outdoors as well as some indoor seating. I got the veggie burrito for $ 5(beans, rice, cheese, sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cilantro). Bean and cheese also an option for $ 4. I liked how it was served on a plate with a fork and knife. A small table is set up with pico de gallo and two sauces(red and green, both pretty spicy and so good!) on ice… looked well-kept and everything tasted fresh. My burrito was not quite Chipotle large, but close, nicely assembled, and grilled. It was tasty, but a tad too much lettuce for my liking. I need to get meat next time!

This food is absolutely awesome! Hands down best Mexican food I have ever eaten period. The dude pumping the food here is the man! He delivers when it comes to customer service. If you even think of something you need he will get read your mind and get it to you before you even have a chance to verbalize it.

This is my go-to place for phenomenal authentic Mexican food. The food is divine, and ridiculously cheap! I send tourists here all the time. My only complaint is that they’re not open later! Order the tacos de lengua or carne asada, you will NOT be disappointed. Ah-maz-ing.

Solid taco truck in a town where I wouldn’t expect a solid taco truck. They’ve got an indoor seating area as well which is welcome in a place where it’s often cold and wet. The dude in the truck was super nice and the food was solid — the pico de gallo at the salsa bar was especially good. Tacos are $ 1.50 and the burritos are huge. Highly recommended.
