Love, love, LOVE this salon! Frank cuts my hair and I could not be happier every time I go! He is patient, TALENTED, and makes me feel like my haircut is his priority. He always suggests new cuts, tells me his honest opinion, and is always on top of the newest trends. His whole staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I am so lucky to have found this salon and will be always be a loyal client! Thank you!!!

Okay. So this place has a specisl on groupon. Appt only i made one. Danny made me an appt today for noon. I walk in. Everyone is like hi. How may i help u. I tell them i have an appt With who they ask i said anyone. They was like no no. We too busy today. Danny booked you danny gotta do it.. Ok. Wth is danny… I felt like crying i drove out there at 11. Left my wallet home. Went back home and came back. Bklyn to queens. Queens to bklyn. Back to queens. I am so pissed. I have a headache. I went across the street to t-​swirl and bought a tasty crêpe. I feel a little better. I ask groupon for a refund. Please try somewhere else save yourself a headache.

Came here about 2 – 3 weeks ago and kept forgetting to write a review. Florentina is AMAZING. I was a walk-​in, last minute on a Saturday and was fortunate enough that she had an opening. She is the ONLY stylist that has been able to get me to the EXACT shade of blonde I had been trying to get to for the past year. I’ve had stylists tell me it is impossible to completely get rid of the reddish brassiness of my roots but Florentina did it with ease and confidence. She is amazing with color and also has the warmest personality.

I had a great experience here. I have incredibly thick and curly hair and I was trying to find someone who could give me a curly bob. I have to say I was impressed with Alex. I walked in and he met with me right away. We sat down and talked about my hair and what I wanted. They washed my hair and Alex went straight to work. Within an hour I walked out with a gorgeous haircut. I would highly recommend this place. If you have curly hair ask for Alex!

Staff was really friendly and nice but not really a place to go for a haircut if your a guy the haircut was originally $ 31 but I had a $ 10 off coupon which thank god because I can’t imagine spending $ 31 on a haircut from this place— it was literally just a trim off the top and a shave down on the sides.

I’ve been a loyal customer here for three years and was always very happy with the service. I had my haircut by Alex and he always did a great job so I couldn’t fault him!
A couple of christmas’ ago I got my other half a blow dry which she was really happy with.
For that reason she decided to go back and have a blow dry on our wedding day with her mum and maid of honor. She phoned to confirm the price given the length of everyone’s hair prior to arriving. Then on the day an incredibly rude receptionist/​manager completely changed the prices that were quoted. She didn’t want to make a fuss given this was her wedding day, something the lady she spoke to was aware of. Yet still she proceeded to make the day as unpleasant as possible!
The one day you don’t want any stress and you get service like this? Brilliant! Then to cap it all off one of the blow drys fell out! Given this happen to her friend she didn’t want to make a big deal of this.
All in all incredibly disappointed and feel partly responsible, given I recommended the place.

I was recommended by a friend and made an apt. the same day for a much needed cut with Sophia. Excellent, excellent! Though let me say it is a bit pricey, I paid over $ 50 for just a cut. It was worth it. My hair is not easy, I have curly hair and walked in with a whole bunch of split ends (my hair looked like a broom). I explained to Sophia that I needed a TRIM, to cut off as much split ends as possible without over cutting it and she worked her magic. Now about a month later, literally my hair is so much healthier. most importantly my curls are back to life. Will deff be going back.

This is the third hair salon I’ve tried in Astoria, and I’m never going anywhere else! I came in for the first time for a walk-​in blowout, and Liz did my hair. She did such a great job that I came back to her for a cut and color. Before she started, we talked extensively about what I wanted and what I liked and didn’t like about the way I’d had my hair done in the past. She said, «I’d rather have a consultation take two hours than have an unhappy client!»
I wanted very natural-​looking, fine highlights, and Liz was incredibly meticulous. Finely weaving my hair and putting it all in the foils literally took two and a half hours. She also washed it out in sections, so none of it would get over-​processed while she worked. Then, she put a toner on top of the highlights so they’d look more natural. They looked wonderful when she was finished!
Liz’s care and attention to detail is what keeps me coming back. Plus, she’s honest about what will look good on me, which I love! I trust that she’ll make my hair look great, even if I don’t know exactly what I want. I can’t recommend her highly enough. Five thousand stars! Thank you, Liz!

I’ve been living in NYC for a little over 2 years and have tried salons from Manhattan to Long Beach. It took me this long to find someone who could actually do my hair. LIZ IS AMAZING!!!
My hair is complicated to do because I have a patch of silver hair at the front and then I dye the rest. She took the time at the beginning of our appointment to ask me how I like my hair done and concerns I had. I have never had anyone take the time to hear my preferences. She asked me if I like the tone to be cool or warm. I told her I really didn’t know and would let her use her judgement. The results were fantastic! When I left, I gave her a big hug. I felt like I met my hair savior! :) She was so amazing that I didn’t even care what it cost. That’s unusual for me!!!

If I could give Liz 20,000 stars I would. She saved me from a hair catastrophe. Went to a salon and left with orange hair! Not only did she save me along with my dignity, but she achieved a color with my hair I never thought I would see. It looks so natural and full of so much bounce and dimension, I should have just come to her first. I recommend her to anyone that wants a beautiful color dye job or just a fantastic blow out. She’s great! I left with my head held high!

Absolutely love them! I always have such a great experience! Today I colored my hair with Tea and Liz and I’m so so happy with my results. I showed them a picture of a red color I wanted and they were able to get the exact color! They are true professionals and you can see they really do enjoy what they’re doing. Definitely the best salon to go to for hair coloring. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I went to this salon for the first time to do a Locks of Love donation. Frank, Liz and Brenda took great care of me! They listened the the cut I wanted when it was all done (long bob) and adjusted the donation cut as necessary to set it up for the look I wanted. It seems to be a great place for Locks of Love especially – they are super familiar with protocol and there was another person there that same day getting a Locks of Love cut.
The place feels like it belongs in Manhattan, but is in Astoria instead! It’s also HUGE — you couldn’t tell the size from the outside. They have a big bar in the back dedicated to mixing color for your hair.
Super friendly, great service. I would go back here for sure – especially since they do wash & blow outs starting at $ 25! :)

Need a stylist? GO TO LIZ… I REPEAT GO TO LIZ!
As a new resident of Astoria, I was looking for a good spot to get my hair done. To me this is a big decision, as I had been going to the same salon in my hometown for over 15 years. I was immediately welcomed and felt comfortable with Liz, she took her time and made sure I was happy. My first experiences were blow outs, not just any, BUT THE BEST BLOW OUTS EVER!
Then, LIZ saved me. Yes, she color corrected my terrible hair color from a previous mess up at my old salon. She spent a good three hours perfecting my baylage (spelling?) and I couldn’t be happier.
Liz is a genuinely good person, she’s not going to try to up sell you, or take advantage. She is happy when her clients are happy and her work speaks for itself.
If you live in Astoria, or even anywhere in the boroughs make your way here and ask for Liz! You will NOT be disappointed.

I am hair model for the Redken Exchange in the city. However they are remodeling so they told me about the Redken Saloon Salon in Astoria. Liz was amazing! So in sync we were about the red and getting some cool funky style too it. I am super happy with the results and can’t wait to go back to Liz for something even funkier.

Basic, overpriced, inept, and unfashionable are some of the adjectives I’d use to describe Redken Saloon Salon. I have fairly long hair for a man, so a stylish cut every few months to keep things neat and presentable is essential. Being pressed for time, I walked in looking for a quick trim. I was told my cut should be around $ 30, which is decent for a salon cut, well, what I thought would be a salon cut. Frank worked on me, the conversation was pleasant, albeit a little more involved than the standard stylist: patron in-​chair conversation. Frank seemed more focused on our conversation than my haircut, which was unsettling, but it’s a salon, what could go wrong?
The bill came out to a gouging $ 50, reason being «I had a lot of hair», which makes no sense because I only had a trim. I argued to no avail, paid my bill, and left with a pain in my rear. Once I washed up and began to style my hair as I always do, it became painfully clear how bad this cut was. The sides above my ear were grossly uneven with the left side awkwardly sticking out like a side-​headed cow-​lick. Gone were the wonderful layers my typical stylist maintains, replaced with an uneven thicket of strands that oddly reminded me of our conversation; rambles followed by a short retort, followed-​up by more intertwining rambles.
But will my hair grow out? Yes. Am I happy? No. Will I be returning? No,
This one star is for Frank, who seems like a nice guy, but he should put more focus on the job in front of him. We’ll have our conversation later.

You know when you need something done but you’re not 100% sure you want to spend the money, invest the time, or entrust a stranger with true important task?
It’s exhausting putting energy into a haircut.
But this place makes it a pleasurable experience and not a daunting one.
From the moment I walked in, I felt comfortable and welcomed.
Alex worked me right into his schedule and listened to everything I had to say. Things I wanted and things I didn’t. We chatted about what was important most to me and my general hair history.
Half the time I didn’t even have to voice my opinions — he was able to read my facial expressions and he just «got it». He was able to achieve my desired look and was careful about every snip he made. Not only was he talented, he was just pleasant in general.
Actually, everyone’s attitude was positive and warm and they made an extra effort to ensure I was happy. They even prepped me for my next appointment. This is my new hair home.

Need the best stylist in Astoria? Ask for Alex.
I’ve been to a few around Astoria. None come close to delivering quality of service with professional finesse that this place has to offer.
It might be a bit on the pricey side compared to a few others (30 – 35 for men’s haircut) but it’s worth it.

I have needed a stylist in NYC since I moved here over 2 years ago, but have stubbornly returned to philly until I found Frank! He cut my hair for free as a donation towards Locks of Love (10 inches really isn’t that bad), and gave me a cute, simple, clean and professional cut just in time for med school interviews
All the staff were nice and friendly, salon is clean and VERY spacious. I felt like I walked back into my home, thanks for the great experience Frank and staff! I’ve found my go to spot!

I have been here twice before. But I will not return again as I feel I was taken advantage of.
Several months ago, I went in and asked the receptionist how much they would charge just to shave the back/​sides of my head and if they could possibly charge me men’s prices. (I have a short pixie cut, and I currently keep the sides/​back trimmed much shorter)
Alex (or his name might be Alec), came up and said he could do it for $ 15. I was very happy with this price, as all I wanted was to have the sides/​back clipped short and I did not want to have to pay traditional women’s haircut prices (which are usually $ 40 and up) for something super simple and easy.
After my first visit, I was happy enough with the job that I came back a second time for an appointment with Alex. I wanted him to do the same thing. No fancy cut or styling.
Towards the end, while he was finishing up my hair he asked if I would like the top part (which is longer) trimmed a bit. I said yes. Then when I was paying for it, the price had suddenly jumped up to $ 40.
Now I figure that either Alex could not have offered me that special rate of $ 15 anymore, or saying yes to those extra cuts on the longer part of my hair made the price increase an extra $ 25.
Either way, I should have been told. Before I even sat in the chair, he should have told me that he could no longer offer me the $ 15 price, or before he cut the top part of my hair he should have mentioned that it would be an extra $ 25.
Either way, I felt taken advantage of. I’m a graduate student and as you can imagine, I don’t have the ability to pay $ 40 for every time I want a slight cut that takes just as much effort as a men’s cut. Thankfully I have found a wonderful hairdresser nearby who offers me the same thing that Alex was doing, but for only $ 20, even if I want the top part trimmed. And she takes more care and pays more attention to detail as well.
I just don’t appreciate the deception, and this place has lost my business.

On a Friday I decided to treat myself with a blow out. I have really, really curly hard to work with hair but figured they must have someone. I called at around 3 and got an appointment for 4:30
Once I got there they took my coat. Then I got great service from the woman who washed my hair. Then it was time for the blowout. BINHO was my stylist. He was amazing! He was personable and friendly. We even talked about getting my roots done. He made my crazy hair look like a Victoria secret angels hair (which he said he’s styled before). The best part is it was only 25 $. I will definitely be going back on a regular basis. Thanks Binho!
