Sigh. So disappointing. This was the fastest pedicure I’ve ever had. It literally lasted all of 10 minutes, 15 at the most. The technician rushed through every step that I didn’t event have a chance to relax and I turned around and she was done. I mentioned that this was a really fast pedicure and she asked if I wanted to add on a 10 minute massage. Why would I pay to add on when you couldn’t even be attentive to what you were currently doing? I let her paint my toes and it was so terrible, it was uneven strokes, there was nail polish everywhere and I realized she did a really poor job on actually filing my nails, they were so jagged and uneven. I finally just asked her to stop and take the polish off. The manager was nice enough to offer to fix it but at that point, it seemed as though the quality of the work in general was poor. The manage was extremely nice, which I truly did appreciate.

Best gel Manicure in the neighborhood, however it is pricier than many of the salons in the general area. The ladies who work there are so sweet and the TV is always on a great channel. Sometimes it gets boring and tiring going to a salon where you spend over an hour in but it genuinely feel like a mini vacation from everything. If you don’t like noise and like a «peaceful and ultra quiet» salon I wouldn’t recommend it to you but I love it.

The owner and nail techs are very nice. They do a very good job and take their time. I wish there was more relaxing vibe and interaction from workers. It’s good for a deal, but nothing fancy.

The service here is not consistent and the prices are much higher then other places in the area. The owner is great but some of the other girls are rude and rush through your manicures and pedicures without paying attention to filing and your cuticles. Why bother paying extra here when there are 3 other places in town that do a better job and are cheaper.

Bottom line: awful.
Went in for a pedi and a hand polish change with a friend. My friend’s massage chair didnt work, and the store was unbearably hot. The «jets» in the foot bath were pathetic.
They didn’t even scrub my friend’s heels to get dry skin off.
We had both just gotten a manicure a few days earlier and just needed a polish change. How could they screw that up? Turns out, they could.
When the girl removed my polish, she did it in such a sloppy way that color got onto my skin. AND THEN SHE DIDNT CLEAN IT UP. I had to point it out! PLEASE REMOVE THE POLISH FROM MY SKIN.
The polish didn! t look even and smooth, and i looked down at one point to see that she wasn’t taking the polish down to my cuticles, and on many fingers, the bottom was a diagonal line. I pointed this out and asked the girl to fix it. After a few i noticed she was evening out the diagonal, but then getting more polish slop onto my cuticle area! At that point i just told her to stop and i dried my nails.
Truly awful. Avoid it!

I’m trying not to cry as I write this. I’m going to a wedding on Saturday and decided to get my brows waxed. I’m lucky to have a nice, natural arch to my brows and when I sat down in the chair she asked if I just wanted them cleaned up. I told her I did and that I like my natural shape. When she finished she held the mirror rather than handing it to me. Something looking different but I couldn’t put my finger on it. I paid my $ 8 + tip (which should have been a red flag) and went home. When I looked in the mirror I realized she had taken about an 8^th of an inch off the inside of my right brow unnecessarily. There’s a huge space between my brows and they’re not even at all. It looks terrible now and is going to look worst as it grows in. I won’t be back.

This place is more expensive than others nearby, but the service, cleanliness, and modern interior explain why. It’s a comfortable place to get your nails done. The staff is always super nice and they always do a good job. The massage chairs actually work, which I can’t say for all nail salons. They have a TV in front of the chairs that often shows entertainment news, music videos, etc. If you’re into that, it’s good. If not, it’s easy to tune out. Again, there are a couple cheaper places not far from here and although I do go to those salons on occasion, this one is my favorite.

I have been going to Ritz on 31^st since it opened. I think it is the best nail salon in the area. Everyone is really nice and Don the owner, is especially wonderful! I get a gel manicure every time and it lasts 3 weeks. The spa pedicure is amazing and I look forward to relaxing in their spa chair. Also, I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes.

$ 8 manicure– but don’t expect it to last more than 2 days. They made me bleed, I felt like she did my nails blindly because she was too busy looking around. The interior is beautiful. It was a nice half hour with my best friend, but not the nicest manicure.

You the wait time is 10 minutes, mind you they have u sitting in water for 30 minutes. Good luck of you have one girl finish your pedicure before another shows up to relieve the girl because someone else walked in!!! They are rude and nasty! Their manicurist speak little or no English and I highly doubt they even have their papers. My wife and I decided to come together and their pricing was over the roof. They are thieves! Male manicures are 12 dollars while the girls are 10. When I asked the owner, he was annoyed with my question and simply said men have bigger hands. Unbelievable!!! This place isn’t worth the time or the patience! For the prices they charge you, your better off going to a spa in the city where you get what you pay for!

I’ve passed by here a few times, always assuming it was a hair salon because of her decorative the interior was. Maybe THE nicest nail salon I’ve ever seen. Very spacious with modern designs, new chairs, and dryers (although they’ve been open for 9 years).
Dropped in since it was the only one open past 8pm on weeknights in the area.
The man (owner?) who did my nails was very sociable and made conversation– not the typical questions I get from nail technicians like «what race I am/​how old I am/​blahblahblah» like a machine.
Very thorough mani and pedi, and 10 minute massage. He took his time with everything even though there were 3 customers waiting– even PAINTING top coat, not just brushing/​slathering it on like most technicians would. It was so increasingly thorough that I got kinda tired of being there and just wanted out (it was around a 1 hr and 45 minute deal from start to dry). He even gave me some tips and education on nails… which has NEVERRRR happened before at a salon. Thanks! Learned something new.
However, the massage was done in a room near the bathroom and waxing rooms, that was ¾ painted … 3 white walls, and 1 yellow wall.
And on closer inspection of my toes, I saw that some color overlapped other parts unevenly, like he didn’t spread the paint out in layers.
It’s also not the usual Astoria $ 16 or $ 20 for mani/​pedi prices. Manhattan prices since my mani, pedi, and 10 minute massage came out to $ 38.
I’ll probably come back if it’s late and there’s no other salon open. But if I could save some $, I would go elsewhere.

Good thing I don’t look like I speak spanish, or else these ladies wouldn’t have opened their mouth about me. I was getting my nails one while my manicurist was yappin away with her buddy talking smack about me in spanish. EXTREMELY RUDE! RUDE! RUDE!
My manicure was messy, she cut me with the cuticle cutter twice.
Another time I was there I had the man do my acrylic nails. They are the thickest most uneven nails I have had, and he nicked me. I don’t know if he just does not care about his work or maybe it was just a bad day for him.
The place looks nice but the atmosphere isn’t as nice. They aren’t too friendly.

one there smiles, everyone looks so either mad or
mani pedi was just okay nothing to really be excited about. I will not go back it was my first and last time.

This has been the best nail salon I’ve been to. It just so happen to be across the street from my job. It’s a bit pricey but it’s worth it. The place is ALWAYS clean and the tools are all sterile (usually seen in the sterile machine) the pedicure chairs are AWESOME. the foot baths with the jet on feels good. They sprinkle in some salts of your choice for a better experience. They usually get the nooks and crannys of my toe nail. They are great and friendly. They offer massage while ur drying and the candy jar has goodies (not the cheap stuff). They have a flat screen television with I think is surround sound bc it’s loud and clear.
As for the nail art. I’ve never had a problem with my nails. I usual get the gel nail polish (OPI) and it literally last me 3 weeks. It does NOT chip. It just outgrows. Highly recommend this place. They seem to be up to date with the nail trends. The owner is friendly as well.

I went here after getting a Groupon for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. When I called to make an appointment, the guy on the phone told me all day Sunday was booked so I had to come on Saturday. When I arrived, he was very rude about the Groupon and just had an overall attitude. The pedicure was fine; the woman who did it was pleasant and did a great job with the pedicure and the foot massage. I’d never had a gel manicure before and the woman who did mine was rather rude when I asked a question twice (after not understanding what she meant the first time). The manicure has already chipped (3 days later) and I have to go back.
Besides the service there, the atmosphere was really horrible. There was some gangsta rap on the sound system — I heard more F-​bombs and N words in an hour there than I have in the past year. It was so incredibly offensive to have that music playing. Also, someone was smoking in the back and the smell was almost unbearable. They said she was outside, but she must have been right by the door because I could hardly breathe.
The space is nice and it’s easy to park there, but I would never go back again on my own. It was hardly worth the price I paid for the Groupon.

Never going here again!
Got a Gel Mani/​Pedi deal off Groupon for this place and I WISH I HADN’T!
The Gel Mani/​Pedi this place offers only consists of picking 5 – 6 «OPI Gel colors» and sorry to say but they were all ugly and old colors.
Pedicure was rushed and the polish was all over my toes. My toes looked worst than before I got them done!
Manicure was even more worst! Most of the manicure was of me placing my hands in the dryer than actually getting a manicure and I can’t understand how a «gel manicure» chips the SAME DAY!?!
The staff there is HORRIBLE, RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL! All they did was gossip in Spanish about two of the women sitting in the pedicure chairs and when I went to pay the remaining balance of my groupon deal I was given a dirty look and the lady pracitically snatched the money out of my hand.
At then I was so annoyed and dissatisfied that I gave her a dollar tip exactly what the service was worth!

I really like this place for my manicure and pedicure. I’ve been going there for about 2 years every week or 2. The staff is very nice and they do a descent job.
the nail polish does not chip the day after. The prices are fair and I would recommend to my friends.

I am a seasoned deal user and picked up 2 deals for a $ 15 shellac at Ritz Nail and Spa from Buy With Me. I paid extra for French polish and gave her a $ 5 tip. So all in all, I put in $ 25 towards this Shellac ($ 15 toward the voucher, $ 5 extra for French color, and $ 5 for tip). No problem.
The problem is that WITHIN 48 hours, one entire hand had chipping and then within another two days it was gone on one hand. Now I am stuck having purchased two shellacs (one that I have used but was completely useless). This manicure was ACTUALLY WORSE than a regular $ 7 manicure. It came off faster! To make matters worse, I went all the way to Queens (I live in Bk) for this service (because I LOVE a shellac because of how long it lasts).
When I went in to show the owner what happened with my shellac (with the exception of a few unsightly specs) it had vanished. He was very rude and THEN ASKED ME IF I PAID FULL PRICE asked me for it as he inspected it. I said I bought it with a Buy With Me deal. He said, «well, IF YOU HAD PAID FULL PRICE FOR for the shellac, then I would have it redone for free, but since it was not full price, I won’t do it.»
Naturally, I was shocked and asked three different times to be sure I was clear on what he was saying. I said that it should not make a difference how much a customer paid, the work was not done correctly. He said, «if you did not pay full price, I cannot redo it. It was polished when you walked out, so it was done correctly.» I said, «thank you and I will be contacting Buy With Me to let them know my experience.» He said, «that’s fine.»
And so, I have another shellac because I foolishly bought two trusting the experience I had on other sites (good ones with salons that do shellacs) and clearly I would never set foot in that salon again. Btw. I tried Tres Jolie Salon (gigi) for a shellac and she was excellent so go there if you get a deal! My advice, always check reviews and if you see negative reports, be skeptical because the discount probably won’t be worth it.
This was such a waste of time and money and this type of salon should not be allowed to offer services on your website. They are clearly unfair and incompetent.

Ritz nails has some of the best customer service I have experienced in Nail Salons across the board. With their winter time complimentary paraffin handtreatment for manis, this is definitely an added bonus to getting your nails done.
I really liked that I was able to try on various colors with no hassle and I appreciated the patience and willingness of the staff to go above and beyond in helping me choose a color. I highly recommending paying them a visit!

I’m not a giant fan of Ritz, but I keep going back because it’s so damn close to my apartment. I always judge a book by its cover, so it took me quite a while to get inside the place — not much to look at from outside. But inside, it’s lovely: very clean, bigger/​less cramped than my fave salon on 30^th Ave, decorated sparingly with bright paint and decals.
I had high hopes for my pedicure, but they didn’t deliver. The process is nice, I like that they add some bath salts to the mix. But the end product just isn’t that impressive. And it’s pretty expensive — you’d expect to pay over $ 20 for a pedicure in Manhattan, but not Astoria. Like I said, proximity, plus the really nice staff, will keep me coming back. But if I want a good pedi for a special occasion (or the entire summer), I’ll hike down to Athena’s.
