Just stopped in on a whim today with my fiancé to look for a wedding band for myself. Upon entering the store, we noticed a sales associate near the entrance helping a customer and 3 more associates helping another customer towards the back of the store. I thought it was a little odd that none of the 4 employees said«welcome» or «we’ll be with you in a moment». Instead, they chose to keep doing what they were doing. I figured, «ok, let me take a minute to look around, and hopefully they’ll come over to assist me». After a couple of minutes, one of the three employees helping the second customer walked away. I thought that she was coming over to help us. Wrong. She walked right past us and went into the back. All in all, we were in the store for about 5 minutes, and no one had attempted to help us, so we decided to leave. The first associate near the entrance made eye contact with us as we made our way towards the exit, but said/did nothing to help us or keep us in the store. I’ve been to other Zales locations and never experienced this level of rudeness. Even stopping in on busy days, i was given better service. I never thought that this would happen in a store with 4 employees on the floor helping a total of 2 customers. I have no desire to give them my business, especially when there are so many other options to choose from.

I have to disagree with some of the negative reviews here. I went to Zales on Steinway and had the good fortune of getting Effie as my salesperson. She was great! I went back a couple times to be sure that the ring I was buying was just right. Each time, she listened and tried her best to meet my needs as far as style and price went. The store manager is also super friendly and helpful. I did have an opportunity to deal with one other customer service rep there who gave me some misinformation, but Effie was able to correct her. I would definitely recommend them. Sign up for the Zales emails before you buy. They send coupons all the time!

WORST customer service ever!!! It’s a shame because there is one nice woman in there who has been pleasant to me time and time again. But, all I need is one bad experience to cross a place off of my go-to list! And yep, this location is one that I will not go back to. One sales rep legitimately made a mistake, giving me a refund receipt in one amount while I was only reimbursed a portion of that amount. Fine, the store made a mistake and owes me money. But no, after me spending nearly 40 mins in the store explaining to the most incompetent sales rep over and over what happened and trying to resolve it with their customer svc over the phone, I still got nowhere! It was the store’s mistake and even after I spoke with the store manager, they still refused to own up to messing up and would not give me the amount that the refund receipt stated. Really a bunch of nasty, rude, and incompetent people who are clearly NOT in the business of customer service! From now on, I will travel across Queens, into Mahattan or anywhere else if I ever have to go to another Zales just to avoid seeing these disgusting people and possibly putting commission into their pockets.

Stay away from this store and this company. I purchased a diamond wedding band here for my wife and along with it I purchased a protection warranty. A diamond fell out of the ring after 6 months. To make matters worse, Zales refused to honor the warranty at the store as well as at their central offices. This company produces an inferior product and its official stance is that they are not accountable nor have to honor their«complementary lifetime warranty». Please save your money and head elsewhere.

Went ring shopping and the selection was poor. They did not have a single oval for me to try so they brought some loose diamonds in during a show. I described exactly what I wanted and they only brought diamonds, zero settings to match. They were ringing me up as soon as I expressed interest in anything and when I said I needed to think it over(it’s kind of a big deal!) they gave attitude and«Well I thought you said you liked it, what’s the problem» comments. I’m sorry but I’m about to drop 10k here I want customer service of a lifetime. I felt rushed and pressured, I would not go ring shopping here it’s such an important experience.

Awful awful awful! Hopefully not all zales like this. This place has definitely gone downhill. Went to get a ring replaced bc it broke and they first tried to tell us we had to buy insurance again to get the old ring replaced after much probing we got them to finally admit that wasn’t true. Then when we go to pick it up the size of the ring was 2 sizes too big when we told them that was not our fault the size on the actual ring is not right they got an attitude. Do yourself a favor if you can go somewhere else! Hopefully it isn’t like that with all zales stores.

The employees are friendly, and the service is solid. The selection is really similar to what you might find in a Manhattan location, so if you’re in Astoria/LIC, it’s convenient if you’re looking for some jewelery. You don’t have to feel like you’re getting the Queens’ selection(e.g. Express or Gap) As for other details, I mean a Zales is a Zales. you know what you’re getting pretty much from the outset. but sometimes that’s a good thing.
