Zaman Hookah Cafe Lounge

The owner of this business is an unethical scumbag. He hires entertainers and cancels on them last minute. Dirty hookahs in a dark and sticky room. I will never come here again.

They shut down, hahahahahahahahhahaha. out of business. it was easy to predict. No one was ever in there every time I looked.

What happened to this place? Used to be a regular during the summer now this place is just lacking everything. The new girl working here cannot even take an order correctly. The music is boring in very repetitive, the mood inside is just dead. The hookah loses flavor very fast and is poorly maintained.
The menu prices are not the same as the actual prices was what i was told by the worker. ended up charging us more than what the menu says. she gave me the wrong drink to begin with and had the audacity to charge me $ 3.50 when the menu clearly says $ 2. This place has just lost its touch.

I came here a lot last summer and enjoyed it which is why I only give it two stars. This time I came back the place was empty. So my group of 8 ordered hookah and drinks. This is what pissed me off. The lady that works there, maybe she’s around 21 and has some baby fat, took our order for drinks. We had to repeat ourselves four times for her to get what we wanted. She even had a pen and paper but she looked confused. We order Pepsi, Coke and Ginger-​ale. She comes back with the Pepsi, Ginger-​ale and FANTA. She said oh we don’t have Coke so I gave you this orange drink. I don’t know the name of it. You just poured the drink and you don’t know what the drink is called?! Really? We also asked for them to give us new coal and water for everyone. He first gives us ONE water bottle. He then comes back around 15 minutes later and has 7 waters. He drops a couple bottles on the floor causing two bottles to leak and get water on everyone. 10 minutes later he comes with coal for us. Keep in mind that it is only me and my 7 friends.
The service they provide is horrible but the flavors they have are pretty good.
They also charged us $ 3.50 for sodas when it was originally $ 2.00. I asked why and she said that’s the old menu. If that’s the old menu why don’t you change it? Such false advertisement on the prices.

The hookah is awesome and so is the owner! Everything was fine until the azaan (Muslim call for prayer) happened and the music continued to play. I was hoping someone would have lowered the volume of the music in light of respect but no one did. So I just went up and lowered the volume of the music. Some make shift costumer who acted as if she runs the place acted rudely. If you plan to come to this place, just make sure you deal with the right person. Other than this incident, hookah is great and so is the environment.

My regular place isn’t open during the afternoon, so I decided to stop by Zamen. This is a really nice lounge with comfortable seating. The hookahs are great, one of the best I’ve had and the price was extremely reasonable. The service was friendly and my coals were replaced frequently. This is a great choice along Steinway.

The hookah here is amazing and reasonably priced. Over the past 2 weeks I have become a regular since the hookah bar I used to go to closed down. My only complaint are the tables since they are so low and you have to slouch to play cards or eat.

I came here out of curiosity and because the other hookah bar that my friends I I frequented was full and we weren’t going to wait to be seated.
On first impression I liked the place. Zaman is a lot wider than a lot of the other hookah bars. I like that it’s not long and narrow and that it’s more spacious.
As for their hookahs I think they are one of the best on Steinway if not the best, especially for the price. The service is always great and so are the smoothies. Can’t go wrong with this place. They are open 24 hours and your experience here will almost always be the same in that it’s always a good one.
