History

Established in 1997.

The year 2012 is a milestone for our firm as we celebrate 15 years of service representing closely-​held businesses, and providing estate planning, estate administration and wealth transfer planning.

Our story began when Larry Freiman and George Menden first crossed paths professionally in 1993. Larry made such a strong impression on George that, four years later, when George’s solo practice had grown to the point where he wanted to add a partner, he immediately thought of Larry.

George wanted a partner with the «right stuff», someone with the right practice experience, planning creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, leadership qualities and practice values. He found those qualities, and more, in Larry. At the same time, Larry was looking for an opportunity to build a firm that paid attention to the business itself as well as the practice of law and one that tapped into his entrepreneurial side. And so, together in 1997, we launched what would become MendenFreiman LLP.

George D. Menden, a founding partner of the firm, has received an «AV» rating from the Martindale-​Hubbell Law Directory (the highest rating available), indicating that his professional colleagues rate his legal ability as «Very High to Preeminent.» His peers also recently selected him as one of Georgia Trend Magazine’s «Legal Elite,» one of Georgia’s Super Lawyers and he was recognized as a Five Star Wealth Manager. Mr. Menden earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Brigham Young University in 1985, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1980, with honors. Mr. Menden is a certified public accountant. In addition to speaking as a guest lecturer at various estate planning and taxation seminars in the Atlanta area, he has served as the Tax Editor for Professional Excellence, a monthly publication for dentists and orthodontists.
