Global Document Shredding

Giving this company 1 star — Solely based on the experience that I had with the onsite team at the Walden School in Atlanta. I attempted to use the services a month prior, but the machine was down. New to the area, this was the only method that I knew to get shredding onsite where I was able to see docs shredded vs. dropping items off and leaving.
I was told a month prior that the services were donation-​based, but this week there was a fee. The fee was new info to me, but luckily I had cash that day because I really would have been uncomfortable leaving my stuff there. Prior to knowing there was a fee, all of my items were dumped from bags into GDS bins. Jeff, the onsite guy, beckons me over with his finger. I didn’t know the reason and his tells me what my fee. Recently, as a female, I’ve had two companies in the Atlanta area overcharge me (1) the moving service upon arrival only unloaded 75% of my truck with my help, requested payment at that time and left me to unload the rest of items.
Another labor bunch, quoted me a price to move things in storage, when I showed them the quote, they told me to give them more money. Being a single female and alone with movers at my home, in both cases I just forked over the money.
I went to GDS onsite, to avoid this happening again. After the one of the female volunteer told me there was a charge, I did call in to confirm. I went to my car to grab my wallet. There was no line, but I asked Jeff should I park before the shredding starts in case a line of cars come and I was told that I «was good» by Jeff. I explained to Jeff that I have the money right here and would just like to have services rendered, I’ll stand here and give him the money, given my experience and the fact the machine broke down last week.
This is where Jeff began to get really irate. he went from 0 to 100 in 2 seconds, and his yelling fit started and didn’t stop. He proceeded to yell that my experiences didn’t have a thing to do with him right now and «as you can see the machine is working». He began his threats of saying he was going to open my trunk right now and dump the large bin of paper in my trunk as-​is. He kept saying that he knew that I «just didn’t want to pay» and then how he doesn’t like doing business with people like me, which he shouted later that people like me was black women.
I couldn’t deal with the mess of him dumping papers in my trunk. Very shaken up with this extremely tall and large black man towering over my 5’0″ frame, I just handed him more than enough money in hopes he would just be quiet and do his job, but that didn’t help. He kept yelling how he didn’t like to do business with people like me, still black females and started moving back and forth with the bin, tauntingly threatening to still dump it in my trunk, after he was paid.
The anger and consistent outbursts were unbelievable. I did ask him what was the problem now, since you have the money. He did kept repeating that he didn’t like doing business with people like me. He proceeded to tell the guy on the truck «man, she don’t want to pay».
So, they were extremely loud going back and forth, while I stood off to the side. The onsite managing volunteer (Anna-​Marie) came over. I was standing off to the side while the banter and anger between the two GDS workers kept going. Jeff still yelling, tells Anna-​Marie that I didn’t want to pay, which still didn’t make any sense to me, since the money was in his pocket.
I asked that he please not lie, because he has the money. I asked him his name in order to submit a complaint. He didn’t respond. I asked him the company’s owner name. Jeff informed me that he was the owner.
After my papers were done, I took a pic of the truck and asked Anna-​Marie his name. I also asked her to please check with the initial female volunteer, because Jeff kept saying that I was a black women with an attitude. He gestured with his hands, in Anna-Marie’s presence saying that I can’t watch a thing. «She needs to leave now.»
He told me to never come back or do business with this company again, because he again doesn’t like people like me.
While getting his name and additional info from Anna-​Marie in my car, his friend comes down from the truck yelling at me. Jeff proceeds to call me an ignorant black woman.
After talking to Anna-​Marie and very shaken and finding out Jeff was not the owner as he had informed me, I called the main office to put in a complaint
I honestly am glad that I was in a public place. With Jeff’s apparent hatred towards black women, since we are «the only people» that he has problems with when they come onsite, I would highly suggest that anyone requesting this service, if you are a black woman to request that Jeff and the no name guy (he refused to tell me his name) not be sent.

I needed to securely destroy 15 years of documents and files and scheduled an appointment on Thursday for a Monday service call. The team arrived on time, loaded the files onto the truck and shredded everything in less than 20 minutes. Michael and his teammate were professional and very helpful. Great company! Great Service! Great People! Great Price!

I needed a fast and convenient way to discard of my financials and other work related PII (person identifying info) before my upcoming move, and these guys took care of it swiftly. They are mobile, so if you want to save a few bucks you’ll have to meet them on location, according to their daily schedule (which might not be all that convenient) but they’ll come to you if necessary. Because of a scheduling snafu, they were kind enough to come out to my location and shredded 2 full garbage bags worth documents in less than 5 minutes. Actually took me longer to get the documents to the truck than it took to destroy them. Haha. Thanks!

I was holding on to so many old tax documents, checking accounts, and bills with personal information because I was afraid of identity theft. Global took care of all of it with great service and quick trip for an excellent price! Shredding on site left me with no worries about my information being stolen. Even though I am a residence with minimum shredding compared to businesses, I was treated with professional courtesy and got rid of the dust ridden papers in the process. Thank you Global!

Perfectly convenient. I had a bit more than my shredder could handle. They knocked out 4 large boxes in about 2 minutes.

They can handle projects large and small — ie, bring your bin (s) to the office for a quick one-​time shred, or have them set up regular service at your home or office for larger/​regular needs — and handle all your document protection and destruction needs. If you’re in town, their office (where the trucks are) is conveniently located; they will travel. Pricing is very competitive and security is guaranteed.
Check them out if you’re doing things like having a secretary handle your document destruction (is she really doing it properly and securely?), if you have personal documents you need to purge, if, even worse, you’re NOT currently destroying sensitive documents, if. .. you get the idea.
