Loose Nuts Cycles

This local bike shop has been very helpful to me since moving to Atlanta almost two years ago. I have bought small ticket items or paid for service on bikes already owned for the most part; however, I did end up buying one of their floor models (by far the most expensive bike I have ever owned). I was really scared to «go big» and contemplated it for weeks, but they let me try several bikes (including frame sizes within a model) when I was looking to improve my commuting experience in this rather hilly city. It was great at first, though later I had major issues with a front fender that had been installed, and this was quite frustrating since I loved the bike so much otherwise. It took ages to get back to the shop due to my schedule but I finally made time to get the bike in for a second attempt at the front fender, and the result was wonderful. This time it was fitted perfectly with no rub or noise, and the stays were cut exactly to fit the large tire. I believe Kinder did the work. Now I have my very nice bike back in working order and am looking forward to commuting with it again. It truly is the best commuter I’ve ridden (especially now, with two working fenders). As another example of why I like this shop, I once bought a saddle from them and after two rides I could tell it had really not been a good decision. Chris was kind enough to let me exchange it for another one, even though I could see many businesses refusing to do this (let’s be honest, saddles are kind of gross). If I had to advise you for how to get the most out of this shop, be polite but also be clear what you want and what your concerns are. They will help. Chris in particular has been nothing but helpful every time I’ve gone to the shop.

These guys are great. I just moved to Atlanta in August, 2015, and I needed some peripherals for my bike. I was looking for something to hold my U-​lock. I bought a sack like nylon bag that fits under the top tube of the bike from them. I was not happy with this product, and after 30 days I returned the product to them. I had no bill but they refunded me fully. No questions asked. That was great service. Since then I had my tire replaced at their store, and bought a bike rack from them, too. I like these guys. Great service.

These guys are the best. Every bike shop I had ever been to before Loose Nuts was full of condescending hipsters. You will find none of that at Loose Nuts. Everyone is welcome and feels at home in their fantastic location in the heart of Grant Park. Whether you are a professional rider or a novice, they treat you with respect and kindness. They have been there with me for bike races, bike commuting, and bike social life. I could not appreciate them more.

Extremely impressed by the customer service. Very satisfied with this nice, local bike shop. I purchased a new bike at Loose Nuts for the purpose of having a low maintenance bike with free service for 2 years.
This was worth it. They really stand by their product. They have great service and are knowledgable in making repairs. Friendly folks, that are very helpful. The owner, Chris is a great guy and Kinder is talented bike mechanic. I am glad I live near by the shop and can frequently stop by.

Top notch. I ordered a bike online and since I am fairly handy I assembled it myself (yeah, yeah, yeah – I know). Unsurprisingly I botched a bunch of crap so I stopped in to Loose Nuts with my tail between my legs. They immediately greeted me, asked what the problem was, and before I could sit down they had the bike on the rack inspecting it for problems. I watched while they sorted out my various messes. After all was said and done he asked for $ 35 for the labor, which was a fair deal.
I went in with a pretty ugly mess and they got everything squared away immediately. Within 20 mins I was riding smoothly down Cherokee and off into the sunset.
This place is a testament to how a small business should be run. I will never take a bike anywhere else. Thanks guys!!!

Only place I would ever have my bike serviced in Atlanta.

These guys were suggested to me by a group of riders for service and I’m so thankful I found them. They fixed a nagging problem with my bike that other shops couldn’t fix, and also have a great attitude. Super friendly and enthusiastic, and it wasn’t expensive either. This is the easiest 5-​star review I’ve written.

This place is great.
I had my bike tuned up at Outback Bikes in Atlanta and they told me they adjusted the derailer as best as possible but that I had the wrong shifters on the bike and, sadly, my chain would just slightly rub against the spokes for the lifetime.
A bit later, my chain broke so I took the bike to Loose Nuts. The tech guy was quick and efficient and, without asking, adjusted my derailer in about 2 minutes so that it actually work properly.
I am pretty sure he didn’t charge me either.
There were some other small problems that occurred later and I took the bike back in and he did a more thorough adjustment and fairly charged me a minimum fee.
Anyway, competent folks that seem very friendly and honest. I will take my business back there every time.
I only give them 4 stars because I have only been in the shop once. I am sure it is a 5 star place.

I cannot say enough good things about this shop. Loose Nuts always has a great staff of knowledgeable, friendly people who know their shit. Many bike shops in town have at least one of the following: 1) asshole staff, 2) know-​it-​all-​attitude, 3) will say whatever they can to sell you whatever it is you are looking at (usually lies), 4) shitty mechanics. Loose Nuts has NONE of those shitty qualities of snobby bike jerks. They know their products sell themselves so they aren’t breathing down your neck to get you to purchase something. They have an encyclopedic knowledge of bikes of all types. These guys are the best bike nerds in town.

great shop for beginner to professional cyclists. riders new to the sport (road, track, cyclocross) or wanting to purchase their first townie/​cruiser — this is the place to visit. chris is very helpful with pointing customers in the right direction for his/​her individual riding style and desires. most bike shops have a way of intimidating the new rider who doesn’t know how to fix a flat… not here. don’t let their ‘friendly to the new rider” side fool you though — these guys are fantastic mechanics and on top of their game. such a comfortable shop it has become a late friday afternoon hangout spot for an average bicycle knowlege girl.

Cant say enough good things about the work they do. I will only get my bike serviced here from now on. Top notch service, informative staff, fast repairs, and über-​reasonable prices. No need to say anything else.

This is the only bike shop I will get my bike serviced at. I’ve been to them all, and hands down Loose Nuts has the most consistently friendly service and knowledgeable staff. Great for tune-​ups, flats, fix-​er-​upers, cool new accessories, and just a good vibe. I just wish they carried more complete bikes so I wouldn’t have to go anywhere else!

Great location and a helpful yet laid back atmosphere. Everything I want/​need in a shop… they have the skills and resources to work on an old steel road bike from the 80s or a full carbon track bike. Whether I’m working on my city bike with a basket and a bell or my road bike, they either have what I need or can get it for me without hassle. I’m so glad to have them right down the street!

I’ve had many great experiences over at Loose Nuts Cycles. The owners, Kareem and Chris are very knowledgeable in bikes of all kinds! Kareem restored my vintage road bike that we both thought was non-​repairable but now riding like new. There is nothing but great attitudes and kind gestures over at this cozy little shop, you can see this the second you walk in. It’s also fully stocked with exclusive bike parts ranging from Animal, Eighth Inch, Hold Fast straps and even vintage ((one of-​a-​kind)) parts of all sorts!
