Nails On Ponce

Even thought they were short staffed, I was able to walk-​in without an appointment and get a mani and pedi done without feeling rushed!

YAY! I found my new nail spot. I moved to the area 6 months ago from the burbs. I am one of those girls who does not feel at home until she finds her people (you know … go to nail place, local eatery, etc). After trying a few places and feeling like I got rushed, mediocre work, I was excited to find a place that took their time and did great work. For me the mani-​pedi is a way to relax so I enjoy a place where I can take it slow and be pleased with the result.

Henry is fantastic! Once I chose a gel color and after he put a coat on one hand we both agreed it looked bad and he took it off with no extra charge. So nice! There is also this other nail tech there who usually answers the phone and I love her as well! She’s so sweet and did a great job on my nails when Henry was busy. Love them and love this place.

Killer service at this place! Had one of the best mani-pedi’s I’ve ever received! The guy who did my gel nails was meticulous in his delivery, they turned out perfectly! And the girl who did my toes was superb as well! I made a 7pm appointment and when I showed up at 6:50 they got to me right away. Sat me a a very comfortable massage chair and gave me a pillow to put at my lower back, as well as offering me a cold beverage. The hand and foot massages were lengthy and of excellent quality! Before I left, the girl at the counter made sure that I was happy with my color choice and service before checking me out… Overall I was more than pleased and I will definitely be back to this location!

I have been coming here for 2 years now and the customer service and quality is always consistent! ! Everyone is very friendly !! I am usually a nail salon hopper but they have earned my loyalty and Henry is who I go to everytime I come here! He is always so caring and friendly and great at what he does

I recently got my first manicure a few weeks back while on vacation in florida and opted to try the gel. It’s WONDERFUL, but you have to have it professionally removed. I wasn’t sure where to go since I couldn’t exactly go back to the original place so I waited it out and finally started asking people whom had nice nails where they got them done and when one mentioned this place I decided to give it a try as it’s walking distance and I can pop over on a lunch break.
I was immediately greeted with a very warm welcome, there was no rush to it like they wanted me in and then out… I was asked what I wanted and then presented with a bevy of gel colors to choose from and sat at a work station where a beverage was offered without me asking.
She then brought out a pillow to fit between me and the back of the chair which was incredibly kind. My actual technician was very quiet at first and was polite when I made small talk, but for the most part quiet throughout 80% of the process.
However, her skill was way up there. My nails turned out perfect. And when the color I chose was not what it looked like out of the bottle (we tested it on one pinky first), she wiped it off and recommended a new color.
I’m curious by nature and asked a lot of questions throughout the process and she answered them all. The service + very reasonable prices for ATL will make me go back for sure in a few weeks so I can try a new color.
I highly recommend Nails on Ponce.

OK so I’ll go into detail, I came to see NoP after doing some mother’s day gel sets with my mama some random place otp that were really bad. The gel was peeling up everywhere and the shape was horrible and I basically wanted a soak off and to start over. I had seen the work he does with my hairdresser on her stilettos and I was sold. I have been growing my nails out under the acrylics to have long nails real nails and all the work Henry did to keep my nails strong was awesome. So the soak off was magical, it actually just ate the acrylics and they didn’t have to pull them off or anything and my nails were very strong afterward. He put on a lot of strengthening stuff and oils, it felt like more than other salons do. He worked hard on my cuticles and gave me a hand massage that was awesome. I was very firm about not wanting to get them cut or filed down after my soak off and he listened to me. Like actually listened to what I wanted which is SO rare with nail techs am I right? ! My nails were shaped perfectly, Henry (like a saint) explained that the gel polish I picked was too light and that I should go for a darker nude if I wasn’t getting tips instead of just letting me get a color I wouldn’t have been happy with. At NoP they offer wine and other beverages and have a big gel selection. Honestly I’d like to see more of an array of nude and neutral toned gel polishes but that is my complaint.
I had one of my best friends go see Henry right after this experience and her stilettos were PERFECT. Like, he is my nail tech now after one appointment. My next appointment is in 30 minutes, I am so excited I just had to come to Unilocal

I came in on a Sunday morning at 12 as soon as the doors opened, and was greeted excitedly by 2 techs. I was amazed at the array of colors that they had to offer. I was able to get my manicure and pedicure at the same time! Hansa was very friendly and talkative during manicure, which made me feel very comfortable. The nail tech who did my pedicure was very experienced. She gave an awesome foot massage and I almost fell asleep! Lol! I had a very good experience here! I will returning in a few weeks. I am giving this gel polish a chance, since I hate artificial nails. They even put my sandals back on my foot, so that I wouldn’t mess up the polish. Not very impressed and will not return. Walked in for a pedicure during the early afternoon when it was not busy. The woman who worked on my nails did not seem very experienced. The water was ice cold throughout the pedicure. The sponge/​sugar scrub was nothing more than someone lightly dragging a sponge across my skin with absolutely no effort. The marks on the surface of my nails from leaving my nail polish on too long were also not removed (all it takes a quick buff) and painted over. Needless to say, I am disappointed, I will not be coming back and recommend to spend your money elsewhere.

The this place!!! Hanna is my favorite! Love the way, I can get right in and out of the salon, no matter what time I come in. They have an endless amount of colors not only in regular polish, but with gel nails as well! You can get matte color done here also!!! I get the best pedicure’s here! My girlfriend love they way they do her manicure. If you check in on yep you get $ 5 off $ 50, they also have a stamp card for visits. And i was offered wine while getting pampered! Ofcourse I said yes!

I usually only go to one salon in Gwinnett but since I live downtown now I figured I’d try something a little closer. Well this my friends is not it. I went in on a Thursday afternoon to get a fill-​in and pedicure. It took 15 minutes for anybody to start working on me. The lady that did my pedicure looked like she was all of 16 years old. She was more focused on her phone than the pedicure. She did not know what she was doing at all. I shit you not, she didn’t use soap at all. Just hot water. I probably could of given myself a better pedicure at home. And then when she was finished she just sprayed water around the bowl. She did not use any type of disinfectant cleaner. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT CLEANLINESS.
Anyways.
the reason for the one star would be for the male nail tech. He did my fill-​in perfectly just how I like it with the shape and all. I even messed up my nail, which is inevitable for me and he fixed it no problem. The prices are OK.
Overall, I would not come back here again! And you shouldn’t either don’t waste your time or money

The staff is very friendly. They will do anything you ask. they have complimentary drinks and great gel color choices. This is the ONLY nail place I can find where the gel nails last longer then 2 – 3 wks! My mom, sister & I always frequent here and they will remember you! Nice staff, nice atmosphere.

I have searched everywhere for a decent nail salon in my neighborhood and thought I had found one here.
At first, they always offered me a drink, asked me just how I liked my nails shaped, were communicative about wait times, etc.
Now, they seem to leave me waiting without greeting or speaking to me, rush me along, and SERIOUSLY– the last 3 – 5 I have come, there has been a 15-​year-​old or younger working on my pedicure. I wouldn’t discriminate on a hard-​working teen if they even knew how to use a nail file or if it didn’t take 3 times as long. There is a serious difference in service and how my nails turn out. The little girl asks me if I can move my foot closer or this way or that way, instead of just adjusting it. She barely files my toenails for 3 seconds on each nail. I don’t know what is going on.
There are nail salons on every corner, so I guess it’s on to the next for me.

I came here at the recommendation of a friend, who is a regular here. I asked for acrylics. Had to wait for 30 minutes because they were short staffed. The lady who did my acrylics was an older asian lady with glasses. First of the bat, she got done with another client before tending to me. She didn’t wash her hands or anything. She just straight up told me to sit at the table without blinking. Didn’t even clean off her table. She simply put a towel over the dirty table. Immediately I was thrown off. I looked around the place, apparently hygiene isn’t that big on their list since all the service tables were dirty with dried polish spotted here and there.
The whole time that I was getting my acrylics, I repeatedly asked her to make it thin. She ignored me and piled on brushful after brushful of acrylics. The whole time she was doing my nails, it hurt. She at first sank her long nail into my fingers and they bled afterwards. Then she drilled my nails from the underside of the acrylic tips and actually made me bleed more because of how hard she drilled. I actually told her to stop at one point because my ringfinger was bleeding under the nail. Of course, she didn’t even apologize. But simply went on to my other fingers.
Oh btw, she did a s*****y job. Those acrylics were thick and stubby. I went to a different salon to get them fixed the day after. They’re fine now. I wish I could’ve taken a picture of my bleeding fingertips and post it here.
That lady needs to get fired. Or get retrained. She sucks at her job.
This salon hires some seriously crappy staff. Don’t come here.

Trying to find a nail place on a Saturday afternoon is like trying to find a parking space on black friday. Although I had to wait a little bit, it was still worth the wait. This is my first time in here and it is beautiful! Relaxing music, not crowded, and great service. The prices are also fantastic. My nails look perfect!
Please note that the name is no longer Vip Nails: it is now Nails on Ponce.

Just visited this place last night and really liked it. They have a full range of nail services but they were content in giving you what you ordered. There was no constant attempts to add things on («you want this, just $ 5 more», You should get nail art, just $ 2, etc). The staff was friendly and efficient, I’ll definetely be back again.
