Piercing Experience

I noticed today while cleaning the gold dome post earrings that I purchased at Piercing Experience at the time of getting my ears pierced, that the domes are not the same size.
The earring from my left ear is smaller than the one from my right ear. I recall that Christina had difficulty placing the earring in my left ear when she pierced it.
I now believe, that at the time of the piercing, Christina realized that she had made a mistake in placing my left ear piercing significantly lower than my right one, and so Christina used a smaller dome earring in hopes that her mistake would be less noticable.
Not only did Piercing Experience charge full-​price for a botched piercing, they outright mischarged (a higher amount as if I were getting two of the larger domes) me for a pair of earrings that Christina probably knew did not match.

Went in for a change out. The shop is VERY clean, very relaxed, and the two guys working when I was there were super friendly, very knowledgeable, and helpful. I will definitely be returning.

I had my first piercing done here last June by Christina herself. It was my septum, and owwwwww. If you’re not as pathetic as I am, it’s supposedly one of the less painful piercings you can get. The shop itself was very organized and relaxed with a wonderful array of jewelry (mainly BVLA), and Christina was very helpful and professional. The piercing took all of 5 minutes, and another 5 to debrief me on the aftercare.

When I came in for my checkup two months later, Richard (the other piercer) was incredibly friendly and also very helpful. He and the guy and the front desk helped me order a custom septum piece.
All in all, I’ve had nothing but great experiences here, although I can’t say exactly the same for my friend who came with me for my piercing. She bought jewelry, and the young woman at the front incorrectly bagged it for her and placed the balls of the piercing not in the small sealed bag with the rest of the jewelry, but just in the larger bag which made it tumble out as soon as my friend opened the bag. We’re still trying to find it. Other than that, though, great place.

I randomly decided I wanted to get my helix pierced, but realized that I’m too old now to just go anywhere. After a little research, I decided to go to Piercing Experience. They answered every questions I had (which was a lot). It is incredibly sterile and clean inside the rooms, which helped put me at ease. The end result is exactly what I was looking for!

Came here about 6 months ago to re-​do a navel piercing that I had done somewhere else. Everything healed great. I had my appointment with Richard, who is just the absolute nicest guy ever. Definitely knew what he was talking about, everything was clean and sanitary, answered all my questions, and was very thorough with the after-​care instructions. Overall pain-​free experience, they always take care of you here and genuinely care about your satisfaction with the piercing. Quite a cute shop and selection of jewelry as well, I might add.

My girlfriend forgot to put her nipple rings in after surgery and they closed up within a week. She was having difficulty getting them back in and was considering leaving them out. All the reviews about Piercing Experience were good so we dropped in, without an appointment. The place is very clean, comfortable and parking is free behind the shop. We waited several minutes while her rings were being sterilized, which gave us time to check out the jewelry case. They have a nice selection for every type of piercing but they’ll also order anything you want too. Looks like a great Christmas shopping point in the future. Richard took great care if her and I was very happy to see all the safety measures taken. If you’re considering getting a piercing check this place out, I highly recommend it.

I came here for my septum piercing (my first ever piercing) and they were awesome. Super-​kind, super-​professional, and with no wait even though I was a walk-​in. I was visiting from California so they provided me with personal recommendations in my hometown for any follow-​up I might require. I can’t imagine receiving a better experience anywhere other than here!

These people KNOW THEIR STUFF. Such a sterile environment– I’ve been in doctor’s offices that aren’t even as sterile as this place. Every single precaution is taken to ensure that your piercing is clean and precise. They know their facts, and the science behind how piercings heal, do’s and don’ts, cleaning and care. I go in once every few months for a check-​up on my piercing, and they are friendly and personable each time. Their jewelry selection is fantastic as well. Would highly recommend this place!

Just left from getting my nose pierced & felt it was a must to write a review. I was extremely nervous!!!(don’t know why seeing that I have a piercing and 8 tattoos lol)… Anywho, the folks here are great! Richard did my piercing, & he was AWESOME! He was very knowledgable, cool, & thorough. He communicated with me from start to finish so I wasn’t surprised about what was coming next. And the best part… barely any pain! If I have anymore piercing needs, I will DEFINITELY come here! :)

Best piercing experience I’ve ever had. I got an industrial done and I meant to give a review a while ago (got it done a few weeks ago). It was so comfortable and everyone was super nice. Probably my most painless piercing experience. Would highly recommend!

I love this place! The owner Christina puts your mind at ease with all her knowledge of the industry. I’ve had several piercings here. I even got my nose pierced by the infamous Robert Effin Ivey! It gets no better than this! They’re also official on the APP website. Do your research people!!!

Both gentleman there were very professional when discussing my piercing with me! The shop I visited previously had a special on what I wanted done which was just a simple lip piercing, not only did they inform me on the fact that the bar was way too small, they fitted me with the proper bar size and informed me on the jewelry! I could go on but I’m tired of typing! Overall the experience was great and I’m definitely going back! They truly deserve 5 stars!

I’m can’t even begin to to express how happy I am with my piercing! I had a nostril done and to say I was nervous is a bit of an understatement…
The shop was amazing and I was instantly put at ease by the gentlemen at the front (I feel bad i didn’t get his name) but he was awesome in helping me select a stud and explaining the differences between each and answering any questions.
The piercing itself was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Christina was AMAZING… Showed me where it was going and then went on to make sure it lined up on both sides and then Bang! It was over … Honestly nothing more than getting your ears pierced. So professional and healthy … Answered all my questions and got excited right along with me when I saw how super it looked.

Stopped here on our way out of Atlanta for a spur of the moment piercing– nose. Piercing Experience is extremely clean and the wait was not long at all. Christina ROCKS! After reading all of the reviews I only wanted her to do my piercing. It’s pretty expensive yes but worth it for the amazing job they do and the cleanliness of it all. Christina was fast and talked me through it the whole time! It’s been a few months and I absolutely love my nose piercing, it looks amazing and I’m very very pleased I stopped by. Would stop by again if I’m ever in Atlanta.

Richard was soooo awesome! He was so friendly, makes you feel very comfortable, always explaining what he’s doing. He was very funny and helped us tourists out in suggesting what to do and where to go. Incredibly professional place!

After looking for a great piercer within the city I found piecing experience through Unilocal.I wanted a place that specialized in just piercing since this was my first time doing something other than the typical piercing (i.e. Ears, stomach, etc).
Piercing experience was EVERYTHING I had hoped for! Before I went I called and spoke to Arthur. He was so pleasing and knowledgable and answered all of my questions without any rushing and with extreme detail (and I am a VERY inquisitive person).
I decided to come in not even an hour later (didn’t have to make an appointment as it was a sudden desire to get pierced that day) with a friend and the whole paperwork, jewelry, and sterilization process was a breeze. My friend was so impressed she even decided to get her upper ears pierced!
Once my jewelry was sterilized Christina (the owner) took me in the piercing room and measured me again and prepared me for the piercing. Everything was very clean and she used gloves, a face mask, as well as other cleaning instruments to perform the piercing.
My piercing was not used with any clamps or uncomfortable items and she made me feel at the most ease as possible up until the end of the piercing with the needle. Needless to say I loooooove my piercing and would do it over again and again if I had to.
Overall price, quality, customer service and location were well beyond expectations. This staff is definitely one of if not the best in ATL!!!

I got my septum pierced three wks ago, and Christina made it absolutely painLESS! I was nervous and she didn’t have me hold my breath; instead she talked the whole process out and didn’t just run the needle through. The place is the cleanest I have seen and she is beyond informative and hospitable. I’d go back for any jewelery or piercing.

I went to Piercing Experience for a basic cartilage piercing which was done by Christina. All of this went fine and she was very forthright in the care process. My follow-​up appointment, however, was quite a different experience.
The appointment was at 12 and Christina was late. When she did arrive, she gave off a very irritated air like I was bothering her for being there. While I expected the follow-​up appointment to detail the next steps of the care process (when I could change jewelry, how to do so, what material of jewelry to use, continued cleaning, etc.) she instead gave one look at my ear and said, «Have you been sleeping on it? Well, it’s crooked now!!» like I had apparently ruined her artwork, wasted my money, and mutilated my ear. I then asked, «So, what does that mean?» She replied with: «It means you have a crooked piercing!!»
I then went to a piercing place to have additional cartilage piercings and asked the piercer if he could tell me if my existing piercing was crooked. He laughed and said that was ridiculous.

I’ve been here twice, the first time was in 2010 (4 years ago now, my God…) and then last week, exactly 4 years later. I decided to treat myself to another birthday piercing. The first time was a basic cartilage piercing, and this time I decided to be a little more adventurous with a tragus piercing (oh my!)
The website where I made my appointment was extremely straightforward. I selected the type of piercing (complex cartilage). It redirected me to choose my piercer (Christina) and the times available throughout the week. I preferred making the appointment versus walking in like I did the first time, since there was no wait and I could get on with my day as planned since everything was so punctual.
I walked in at 2:00 on a Saturday, and there were two other people also in queue. However I had an appointment from 2 – 2:30 so the guy at the counter promised to get to me ASAP. I had to wait in the cushy couches with my friend. After helping the first customer, he had me come up and sign some papers, pick out some jewelry, and he gave me his undivided attention. He helped me choose a good color jewel for my skin tone that wouldn’t be so small that it were unnoticeable.
Christina was kind of busy, but came out and got me after another short wait on the comfy couch. She calmed me down, talked me through the aftercare procedures, and marked the place on my ear she would pierce. After some adjusting, she had me lay back in the chair that looked like it belonged in a doctor’s office. She sanitized my ear and massaged it lightly before asking me to breathe in and breathe out slowly while she pushed the earring through my tragus. I think in that moment I decided never to pierce my other tragus. Ever. However I’m sure she made it as painless as she possibly could, pushing a piece of metal through the thickest cartilage in my ear.
The process was simple, and Christina made it as «painless» as she could. I’m very satisfied and I definitely recommend coming to Piercing Experience for your first piercing and your last. Quite pricey but I know in general this is about the price range for a piercing AND jewelry. I’ve heard you can bring in your own jewelry as long as you meet their specifications, but I didn’t mind spending the 20 dollars for something that will be good (healthy) for my ear and last for a long time.

Did a bit of research before choosing which piercing parlor I wanted to go to, and chose PE. I came in earlier this evening to get something done and I had really mixed feelings about this place throughout the entire time I was there.
BF and I walked in and was greeted by Robert, who was the only one behind the counter at the time. Apparently, he is a guest piercer? (Which explains a lot of what I wrote below). I asked him a couple of questions but he didn’t give me clear answers to any of them (e.g. How much the piercing fee would be? — It depends on the jewelry you choose, but it’d run you about *insert monetary value here*). I really just wanted to know if I’d get a better deal getting multiple piercings in one sitting. I eventually opted to get both done since Robert didn’t really have any advice and it would be a bit cheaper. This actually wasn’t the smarter decision as I’ll mention later.
Well, I already had my mind set, so I went ahead, filled out the form and paid. I was baffled that he struggled with the POS system a bit (another gentleman assisted him later for something else). He then discussed jewelry options and went to sterilize everything. He popped back in and even asked what color anodization I wanted (Side note: working in the medical device industry made me very familiar with anodization, so it made me relax a bit, knowing their process of sterilization).
After interacting with him for a while, seeing how he moved, spoke, and behaved, I actually felt very. uneasy with him being my piercer. By this time, the aforementioned gentleman had come up to the front (while Robert was in the back), so I actually requested if Christina could do the deed instead. He went to ask and a then I could hear talking and laughter coming from behind the wall after I made my request, which made me feel as if my request was an outrageous one or something.
After a minute or two, Christina came out and, honestly, (initially) it felt like it was a bother to have requested for her. But I was already there and I already paid, so I was gonna go through with it. She checked my paperwork to see what I wanted done and IMMEDIATELY gave her professional opinion about NOT getting both at the same time. I took her up on that, so I was refunded and then charged again for a single piercing instead. We spoke for a bit about aftercare (since I was not informed earlier) and suggesting setting up a follow-​up to make sure I heal properly (a HUGE plus!!!). She then left to re-​sterilize everything, as each piercer has his/​her own method of working.
Gah, I already wrote a novel. OKAY, so I finally make it into one of the private rooms and by now Christina and I have become quite chatty and I’ve come to realize how freaking AWESOME she is. She asked if I had any questions and then proceeded to tell me the steps she was going to take — keep in mind that the entire time, she cleaned her bare hands with hand sanitizer after she touched anything. She then put on her gloves and marked the spot with the ash of a burnt matchstick to see if it looked alright and I gave her the go-​ahead. Without using any clamps or any other tools other than the needle and her hands, it was quick, easy, and I only felt a pinch!
The price — piercing fee + jewelry (priced in two parts) — came out to be about $ 20 more than I expected, but if you’re a huge clean freak like me, it’s worth it. Their jewelry for new piercings is made of surgery grade titanium and they follow a strict quality standard when it comes to material lot tracking and passivation (again, from working in the medical device industry — thumbs up). There is private parking is located behind the building, but if you car is lowered/​slammed, take the entrance from McLendon Avenue (between PE and Candler Park Market), NOT Clifton Road. I think the location of this place is great and if we didn’t have somewhere else to be after, BF and I wouldn’t walked around to check out the neighborhood.
So, walking in I felt great, during the wait and switch-​off of the staff I felt uneasy/​uncomfortable, but walking out I felt amazing.
3 stars for now for the extreme uncomfortable feeling I got from Robert. I will update when I come back for my follow-​up and potential second piercing with them. Sorry, Christina!!!
PS — According to their website, they offer a 5% student discount. I wish they’d mention that while I was in the store. :/
