Your time is respected and you don’t spend timing waiting to get serviced. Awesome color techniques. Also great place to help you transition out of relaxed «permed» hair and look great every step of the way. I have been a customer for over 25 years. I have traveled across country for services.

I am thrilled to have found TAG Concept Studio. Ashley, one of the stylists there, was recommended to me by an acquaintance. Having relaxed my hair for the last two years, and seeing it shed and thin out like crazy, I knew it was time to go natural again. Ashley cut all the relaxer from my hair, colored, steamed and styled it. I was extremely happy with the result. The entire TAG staff was friendly and the salon’s atmosphere warm. I highly recommend Ashley and TAG.

Absolutely LOVE this salon. I have an extremely thick kinky afro. I have always been natural and i would trust my hair in the hands of any of these stylists. I leave with my hair not looking like my own EVERY TIME! Just amazing… the entire process. Definitely pricey, but worth every penny. Just make sure to ask how much your stylist costs because depending on the experience of the stylist the prices differ. Unless it is a busy day like Friday or Saturday, I am usually seen right at my appointment time. This is also a Black business on their A game so I fully support this place!

I’ve been a client of TAG every since I began my transition back to natural hair in December 2010. Over the years, I have never waited more than 5 minutes. The quality and service has always been impeccable and the comments usually begin as soon as I walk out the door. I would recommend this salon to anyone looking to achieve silky healthy hair.

This place is clean and the staff is professional. Samirah took excellent care of me. During my consultation she explained what she would do and her goals for my hair. She is very educated on hair and I appreciate that! This place just felt good to be in and my hair looks amazing. They also give you 10% off your first appointment! Prices are reasonable and they truly care about healthy hair!

Very disappointed with my experience here. After growing my hair out for 3 years and not putting ANY HEAT on my hair during that time period, I decided to treat myself and truly see how much my hair had grown. I received a steam treatment and press a few weeks ago. I washed my hair a few days ago and to my shock parts of my hair DID NOT revert back to the natural curl pattern i. e portions of my hair are completely straight due to heat damage. I washed my hair a second time and did a protein treatment to make sure I wasnt mistaken. Parts of my hair are completely straight, limp, and lifeless! I thought that this salon focused on healthy hair and thats why I was willing to tolerate the ridiculously inflated prices, but this is not so. They focus more on getting a super straight blow in the wind press, not on the actual health of the hair. When I think back to the actual experience there were a few things that happened that rang the alarm in my head but I chose to ignore. First off, the trainees do most of the work. The stylist (Gilda did my hair) will only touch your hair 15 min (for the press) out of the two-​three hours you are there. Secondly, after conditioning my hair under the steamer, to my surprise they shampooed me again (doesnt that negate the purpose of the conditioner?), the trainee claimed that that would help the hair lay better. They did not apply any heat protectant to my hair AT ALL before blow drying or pressing. And the trainee will detangle your hair in under 15 min by trying to forcibly and impatiently comb through your hair from root to tip (a known no-​no for 4C hair). If your goal is healthy hair, this is not the place. If your only desire is bone straight hair they will get that perfectly but it may be at a cost to your curls and future health of your hair. Never Again!

We had a great start but a disastrous and painful end…
I was a long standing client of a stylist at TAG & our relationship ended with the worst, unsolicited «cuts» ever. The density of my hair was cut off over a series of 3 requested trims not «cuts». I initially thought I had alopecia because the back of my hair felt thinner; but never suspected that my hair was periodically deliberately cut off in the back of my hair. The front of my hair was kept thick & long. I visited doctors who confirmed «not alopecia» through bloodwork. I brought my concerns to my stylist (I had also noticed the front of my hair was actually longer than the back) & specifically asked her to trim near microscopic. I felt like perhaps their was some miscommunication and wanted to give her a chance to correct what I thought was a problem. She responded by cutting the rest of my hair to sheer thinness. Then I realized it was her deliberately thinning out my hair. For someone that skilled, I never viewed her as incompetent, so I’ve decided it must have been intentional. Ultimately, I lost inches off my then near bra strap length hair & the middle of my hair ended up looking like someone hacked it off.
After leaving TAG, my hair bounced back thick thanks to a new stylist who was so horrified at what happened, he made it his mission to restore what was stolen. My length (had to cut 5 inches off) has yet to return. Waste of time, money & great hair. I had invested so much at TAG because I believed wholeheartedly into the stylist, the business and their new product line. I cannot say it is the entire salon, but bad, essentially, traumatic hair experiences color and affect the establishment. Pay close attention to every inch of your hair! I blindly trusted the wrong person-​who I thought had integrity-​and paid a HEFTY consequence.

Tag is not just another — natural hair salon. I’ve been to several in the Atlanta area and in my opinion this is one of the best. One thing Ive noticed is that their technique for silkening is not one size fits all. If you don’t need a blow out, silk, and curl then they will only blow out and curl… you know the less heat the better. Also, I was encouraged to wear my hair textured from time to time as well which allows your hair to remember how to «curl». I once had an issue with my color — and Gilda went out of her way to correct it. Great customer service.
I know longer visit because I’m pretty much a wash and go natural but if I’m ever in need of a straight style I’m going straight to Tag.

Wash, Hydrate, Press and Style in 90 minutes or less. With timing like that you better believe I’m a fan. This is a place that takes the health of your hair seriously, and if you invest the time and money ($$), you will be rewarded with healthy hair. On some days they take appointments as early as 6pm and on others appointments as late as 7pm. Every time I’ve been the entire staff has been kind, professional and knowledgeable. There is plenty of parking in the lower lot and I’ve yet to have product pushed on me. All in all a quality place that is heavy in my rotation.

Review Point of View: No Heat, Natural Hair
I found Tag by doing a search for Natural Hair salons in Atlanta and was pretty excited to see that not only were they close to me but they had availability for an appointment the next day (a Thursday morning). I should have realized based on the pictures that even though they are a «Natural» salon they really don’t do that many non-​straightened styles.
They specialize in the non-​helmet-​look straight styles; you know hair that actually moves while it’s straight and looks like it’s supposed too. They do this by getting your hair healthy via the correct moisture balance so that when the hair is blow dried it’s neither fried nor reverts backs quickly. If your hair is healthy, it will flow, be soft & silky, and stay straight longer the more it’s blown out.
This is all great for people who like or wear their hair straight. I however, do not. I got my hair shampoo’d, conditioned with steam treatment, and then it was blown out in order to cornrow it. The cornrows were not too tight in the front and looked really good. While my hair needs a trim, she understood that right now I’m just using braids to protect my hair and get past the «in between» stage and will trim it in the fall. She recommended that I come in between styles to work on getting my hair healthy and back to the correct elastisity/​moisture point but wasn’t pushy. It only cost me $ 60 {including tip} w/​1^st time customer discount.
The service was excellent, everyone was friendly, and there was no work «drama» or gossip going on. You could tell everyone loved working there and liked working with each other.
I subtracted 1 star solely on the basis of the confusing «natural» hair salon concept. They straighten the hair before styling so people who wear their hair in the natural state {unaltered by heat or chemical} should look elsewhere. For everyone else this salon would be great as the other clients in the salon looked Fabulous & was healthy.

I have been going to TAG regularly since January of 2011 and I have found my expectations to be exceeded during each visit. After visiting a variety of salons in the metro Atlanta area this team is the most personable and professional. The stylist really focus on helping you achieve the most healthy state for your hair.
As I mature I’m realizing that if you want quality service and products sometimes you will need to pay higher price for quality. I’m able to find a balance since I can maintain my hair reasonably well between visits so I only have to make an appointment once per month.
All of the stylists are professional and excellent. My hair has been styled by Gilda, Ashley, and Tracy… I loved all 3! I will be sure to note that in order to get an appointment you will need to plan ahead. The stylists, especially Gilda, book at least 1 month out so plan accordingly. This is a dynamic team of professionals who are highly skilled in their trade. I trusted them with styling me for my engagement portraits and will be using them for my wedding as well.

Let me just start off by saying I have NEVER went to a hair salon and got OUT on a FRIDAY within 2hrs… I think I would go back for that alone even if they were awful… but luckily, they aren’t LOL! Seriously, they are WONDERFUL, I am not from Atlanta but I frequent there often and I will certainly be returning to their salon as a regular client. I couldn’t have been more pleased with my hair! I am long-​term transitioner and have been holding on to my perm ends for the past 2yrs (sad I know LOL), I received a hydration/​steam treatment, trim (which was LONG overdue for me), and straightening everything was about $ 100 bucks. My hair is straighter than it was when I was getting a relaxer and I am not exaggerating, as I write this my style/​hair is about a week old but it still looks like I am fresh out of a salon chair. Gilda did my hair and she was amazing, but honestly all of the stylists there from what I witnessed when I visited appear to all do a wonderful job. The atmosphere is really relaxing and professional, in a way I didn’t want to leave because of that lol.

I have so many great things to say about this salon that I’ll never stop writing. My first appointment was approximately 5 weeks ago and I’ve been going weekly ever since. For starters the atmosphere is absolutely fabulous! The ambience is inviting, extremely classy, urban chic, with an eccentric twist, simply love at first site! The first time I went in I brought headphones and to my surprise I didn’t need or want to use them.
The salon experience is all in itself a truly heavenly experience. The attention spent on your hair is amazing. They take time evaluate your hair before they began any treatment and yes I’m saying they! I’ve had my hair styled by Tracey (who’s my main stylist), J. Jeff and Amir. Everyone in the salon is great it’s not like if you don’t see your favorite you can’t see anyone else… the styling team works great together. As another testament my first visit I had my hair cut and Tracey did a fantastic job. This is the best cut I’ve ever had!
Okay, on to my hair… I didn’t start with a bad grade but who cares!!! My hair was so far removed from its natural state. Now my hair is beautiful, naturally hydrated, it has thickened and for once I can appreciate it. I don’t have to use a lot of product to achieve a desired result. My hair has a natural glow, it’s free flowing and it is all attributed to the care given at Tag Concept Salon.
By the way, if you are like I used to be running to the Dominican Shop… realize that all of that isn’t healthy, definitely not natural, and it stresses your hair terribly not to mention it’s enough Paraben in the air to cause cancer! Please try this just once and I promise it’s as close to Mother Nature as you can get. If I were rich I would pay for everyone who reads this to visit this salon but since I’m not take my word for it. This salon’s technique will change the way you feel about your hair. They have definitely mastered the art of care of black hair!!! I can definitely say I’ve been Tagged and so will you!

I’ve been going to Tag regularly for my hair since my first review. Outside of the hydration, trimming, and straightening, I’ve had my hair colored twice — first red, then brown to cover the red. Both color jobs were gorgeous and reasonably priced at approximately $ 50 (we all know pricing is relative!)
Outside of Gilda, I’ve also had my hair styled by Samirah who does great work and provides entertaining commentary. Entertaining because she’s funny as hell when she’s being serious. Although I haven’t tried him yet, I would also trust my hair to Amir. He always does beautiful work. (I’m giving everyone these alternates to Gilda because I now have to book my appointments with Gilda several weeks out so that I can get in!)
Due to popular demand, I suggest that you make an appointment for your hair rather than walking in, but walk-​ins are accepted.
My hair is healthier than ever, and as long as it was in high school. Yeah, a part of my hair growth is genetics and good living, but another part of it is hair care. Show your hair some love and let Tag take care of it. (I should write commercials, huh???)

I travel for my job and EVERYWHERE I go I’ve had someone ask «where do you get your hair done?» When I tell them it’s a salon in Atlanta, some STILL don’t care and want the name and number of the salon! I have VERY thick natural hair so I love the fact they have the hydration stations that add moisture back to the hair and use ionic tools when straightening that creates the most flowing creation ever. Not to mention Amir keeps my color on point! I’ve never gotten more compliments than when I started going to TAG. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and everyone knows what they’re doing! You really can’t go wrong with any stylist there. Seriously, check these guys out and you’ll never visit another salon. :)
