US Post Office – East Atlanta

This postal service location has got to be the most unfriendly postal office location that I have ever visited. The people who work at this location are always angry, rude, unfriendly. Whether it is calling by phone or visiting this location in person it’s still the same BAD SERVICE. This place needs a change of management!

Can’t say enough about how wonderful both the postmaster and the carrier were when a package was incorrectly addressed to me at my son’s house and not deliverable. They found my package before it was sent back and redelivered immediately. Kudos — very nice especially since I called from South Carolina and wasn’t even a customer in their area.

I am very disappointed in the high level of attitude that one has to encounter when trying to address issues at this office. I just called to speak with the manager because the knob on my mailbox was broken off. I did not break the knob and assumed that my postal worker had done so accidentally, since that is the only person who opens my box besides me. I started receiving notices in my box to fix the knob and I wanted to call to discuss the issue. When trying to explain the situation, the manager had an instant attitude and wasn’t helpful at all. The level of customer service and professionalism was definitely lacking. And sadly, my interaction, seems to be the norm, rather than the exception.

This place is just unbelievable. They lost a piece of certified mail from the city of Atlanta to me, I have been there twice now for a couple hours to speak to someone about it and they just clearly don’t give a s***. They have zero accountability. This is why they are always in the red!

The workers at this post office are very rude. I had a package overnighted with guaranteed delivery by Saturday 12pm and when the package still had not arrived I called the post office directly to check on this issue. I very nicely asked if I could get some information on the package as it showed as out for delivery but it was past noon and I was curious as to where the package was and if I would get it by at least the end of the day. She became very rude and basically told me that there was nothing she would do and I was out of luck until the postal carrier came back to the station. I then asked how the «guaranteed delivery» time worked and how to request a refund for the lack of receiving the item at that time. She then proceeded to yell at me saying that she didn’t care that I had paid extra for that service and that I just had to wait. I calmly asked what the point was to pay for expedited services when I don’t receive the service. She just sat there and yelled and yelled about how she doesn’t care and how the carrier probably attempted the delivery and since no one was there they took it back. I explained that someone has been home all day and we had a signature waiver and no notice was left on the mailbox. She said i was probably lying and that I would have to wait until Monday. Unfortunately I can’t call the customer service number either and when I did and attempted to speak with a rep the system hung up on me — 4 different times.

My package was never delivered to me, but they would not take responsibility for it. Filed a consumer affairs report and a BBB complaint. Supervisor is rude and unprofessional.

I’ve used this Post Office more frequently after recently getting a PO box there. It’s located off of Metropolitan street. The parking lot is a little small, but there is more than enough street parking for everyone. The girls who work at the front counter are a little slow but I’ve found them to be very friendly and helpful. This is easier to get in and out of verses Little 5 Points and I think the service is better as well. As far as Post Offices go this location is A-​OK.

Fuck this post office. Fuck it to hell.
I recently ordered a Christmas present, and this post office lost it. When I called them to ask if they found it, I got the nastiest employee on the phone who put me on hold for about 5 minutes. When she came back, she said «We can’t fucking find it, you’re gonna hafta come up here» and hung up on me.
Why in the hell would I want to come to a post office with their nasty fucking attitudes? If a post office needs to be shut down, I recommend this shithole be closed first. I can’t say «fuck this place» enough. Thanks for ruining Christmas, assholes.

Okay as far as post offices go.
Plan to park on the street and the time for waiting in line. It’s a hit or miss.

They shipped an item to my address and claimed to have left a «notice.» There was no notice. They don’t answer the phone, either.

Long line with only one worker, awful parking. Ugh…

I love love love this post office! I don’t understand why it’s gotten such low stars. Seriously, my hubby and I have been coming to this post office because it’s minutes from our house at grant park. Yes, it’s not in the best neighborhood, but I love the ladies that work here!
We’ve come during crazy holiday season and during slow times and we ALWAYS receive awesome, attentive service. And when we ask them to help us figure out a great and cost-​effective way to send our parcels (had to shipped a bridesmaid dress overseas in a hurry once and our bulky wedding invites to different continents on another) they always take the time to make sure you leave satisfied. We have never once encountered bad customer service or impatient reps (that’s gotta say something for us postal office).
Basically, the usual dreaded post office run isn’t dreadful to us anymore because of the super sweet workers here!

I realize that the post office is a monopoly so I hold no illusions as to the service I will receive, but this place is beyond the pale. I moved to the area and paid them (40.00) to have my mailbox re-​keyed. Three weeks, two visits to the PO and 5 phone calls later, and I am still waiting. Every time I get the response «your mail carrier will do it today and he’ll call you later to confirm» and every time nada. I’ve moved and had my mailbox re-​keyed several times before and never had this kind of problem. It is astounding at how poor their follow through is as well as their ability to lie to me all at the same time. Avoid this post office at all costs– it should be closed and we should all be re-​directed to a location that actually does the job they are entrusted to do.

I was wary to try and attempt a trip to this Post Office on my lunch break after reading these horrible reviews. Thankfully, it wasn’t that bad.
Arriving at 11:15, I was the third person in line. When I left at 11:25, the line was out the door, but they had two registers working so it seemed like they were able to move at a good pace.
The gripes about parking I seriously don’t understand, as the lot was not full and there is plentiful street parking on three sides of the building.
All in all, not a bad place to pick up Christmas stamps.

This seriously has to be the worst PO in Atlanta. Unfortunately, it’s the closest one to me, so I usually deal with it. I’ve NEVER seen all 3 registers in use. Typcially they have only 1 person working — even on the weekends. The employees are all very nice, but you would think they might at least try to move a little quicker. This place is so completely inefficient!
