YOU’RE A HANGER is a women and men’s vintage and consignment boutique.

History

Established in 2012.

You’re a Hanger, a vintage dress store in Emory Village, is giving a new meaning to the familiar trope «Affordable Fashion.» Just past Saba, this little-known treasure trove offers unique outfits for as little as three dollars — perfect for college students shopping on a budget. It is a place for free-thinkers looking to express their inner goddess.

The name «You’re a Hanger» comes from the idea that «everything looks good on you. You wear the dress; don’t let the dress wear you.» True beauty exudes from a strong woman, and the clothes you wear are merely an extension of your personality. It is not the dress itself, but the woman within which makes it pretty — something to show off. Kasita herself is a woman beautiful in her own right, an inspiration for women to follow their dreams even when they seem out of reach.

Meet the Business Owner

Kasita M.

Business Owner

Kasita McCloud, a young public school teacher in Atlanta, founded You’re a Hanger in an effort to provide pretty dresses to beautiful people at a low price. Kasita doesn’t ever buy anything she can’t envision on someone else. She makes an effort to provide something for everyone in this new venture.

As a high school math teacher, Kasita did not necessarily have the income to establish her own business. She got the idea when she received an offer from a used dress sale of a whole truckload of dresses for less than three hundred dollars. Thinking she couldn’t pass up such a great deal, she took them and opened up a room in her house for her students and friends to come pick out things they like. When a friend suggested she start her own store, she said she wouldn’t have the venue for it. Then a wealthy friend offered the key to a room in Emory Village next to Saba. She points to her faith when telling how everything happened just as it needed to for her to create her own business.
