We at McCurdy’s combine our vision for great food at an affordable price with wonderful service at a beautiful, scenic location. We are located on Moonlight Bay in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. We are the only location in Atlantic Beach that offers sunsets while dining outside on our covered deck. We specialize in Charcoal Grilled Seafood and In-​House Aged Steaks. We also offer unique pasta dishes, crabcakes, crablegs, ribs & even offer a bar menu. The bar menu offers everything from Burgers, Cheesesteaks & Wings. You must save room for dessert to try one of our housemade desserts. Ann recently won 1^st place at this year’s Chocolate Festival with her Bourbon Street Chocolate Cake. We also boast the largest beer selection on the Island. McCurdy’s supports North Carolina and the local economy by purchasing as many ingredients from local farmers & fishermen. McCurdy’s participates in the Carteret Catch program which promotes the local seafood industry!

History

Established in 2006.

Long before it was McCurdy’s on Moonlight Bay, the building itself had become an institution in Atlantic Beach. In 2007, a young couple from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, drawn to the area by family ties, moved in. Ann McCurdy Kolenick had just completed her pastry art degree with honors from the prestigious Restaurant School at Walnut Hill in Philadelphia. She had already earned a hotel and restaurant management degree from the University of South Carolina. Ann continues her love for baking by creating and baking desserts daily. Her husband, Dan, wanted to hone his extensive restaurant experience, so together they took on the project of turning McCurdy’s into a dining destination. They painted the outside yellow and blue, completely renovated the inside, added 7 floating boat slips for boats to pull up and dine and opened up McCurdy’s Restaurant & Deck on Moonlight Bay

Business Owner

Ann McCurdy Kolenick earned a hotel and restaurant management degree from the University of South Carolina & then continued her education from the prestigious Restaurant School at Walnut Hill in Philadelphia with honors.

Ann continues her love for baking by creating and baking desserts daily. Her most recent addition to the dessert menu earned her 1^st Place at the 2010 Chocolate Festival Bake-​Off with her Bourbon Street Chocolate Banana Cake!
