History

Established in 1950.

Lawrence (Larry Sr.) Tomasino and Charlie Walsh started General Sheet Metal, Co. in Worcester, Ma. in 1950.

Over time, Larry’s 3 sons entered the business. In time, Charlie was bought out and the Tomasino Brothers slowly grew General Sheet Metal into 3 divisions — General Sheet Metal, General Mechanical Contractors (GMC) and HVAC/​R Service Contractors.

Today, GMC is among the largest non-​union mechanical contractors in New England serving both the residential, commercial, design/​build and public markets.

With over 100 employees, many of which joined our team after they graduated trade school, GMC has always focused on treating our employees with the utmost respect and support. Many of our employees have been a part of this team for 20+ years.
