Max’s Deli is wonderful! Great salads and sandwiches. Very fresh ingredients. Very busy at lunchtime, but Max and the girls do a great job at getting orders out.

This place is da bomb dot com! I came by at a busy lunch hour (~12pm) so it was definitely not as fast as some people have said (more like 10ish minutes) but the food was delicious! I had the pastrami and rye because it seems like the poster child sandwich here and boy, it tasted so FLAVORFUL and AWESOME! Bought the full sandwich and split it in half so i get 2 lunches! What a deal :)
Will definitely return for more!

Found this little gem. Great service and excellent food. I love their salads. Always fresh to order. The highlight are the cookies! AMAZING! they have an orange chocolate cookie that I cannot get enough of.
Go see them today! And FYI they cater too! Their lunch in a box is a great deal!

Love Max’s. Sandwiches are custom made with many choices of excellent bread. Soup dips great, treats are great. Soda cups are fabulous and not paper I’ve never had a bad meal there. Friendly, competent service.
Only open M-​F so go then! My one sandwich lasts two meals. Love them! Best sandwiches in town. On heritage so off path but very close to hwy 49

I come here all the time. Should have wrote a review by now. If you want a great sandwich this is the place to go. They are super busy during lunch (because they are so good) so order online for no wait.

This place is undoubtedly the best deli in all of Auburn. If you are in the area you should definitely stop in and have a bite to eat. Their sandwiches are all made to order and taste amazing. They have many different breads to choose from and the chips are great as well. During my last visit I had the hot mess and it blew my mind. It was the right amount of spice and of course the chips were the perfect compliment to the sandwich. The staff is very friendly and the overall atmosphere is very inviting. They have indoor and outdoor seating. A great place to eat if you work in Auburn too. They cater to local businesses as well so get a sandwich and and enjoy.

The pastrami & Swiss sandwich is like a little party in your mouth. You can order online and skip the line. I am lucky that my office is only 150 yards away. The only place I go for lunch other than the Szechuan.

One of the best lunch spots in Auburn! Sandwiches are tasty (my go to is the Monterey), service is fast and friendly, and prices are right.
Furthermore, they go above and beyond for their customers. For instance, they refunded me the cost of a water cup when I left a comment via Square that I didn’t know there’d be a cost as it was not posted. I wasn’t seeking a refund, rather passing on the fact. The same day they responded with «you’re right, it’s not posted anywhere. We’ll refund the charge.»

If you want the best pastrami sandwich on rye, this is the place. There’s an unbelievable amount of meat on it and they put some kind of slightly sweet dressing which makes me hungry just writing about it. They also give you a nice amount of peppery potato chips.
Max is most always there, always friendly and the girls who work there are cheerful and get you your order quickly. Try this place for the best sandwiches around.

Have eaten here 4 or 5 times and NEVER had a good meal. There will not be a next time

Great food, convenient lunch spot, great sandwiches, good ice tea selections. Tidy and well managed. Hearty slices of meat on the sandwiches. Cookies are delicious. I’d recommend the George Constanza or the Chilli.

What a wonderful little deli! I come here about once a month for their Artichoke Bisque soup!!! Love the food, love the service! A truly hidden gem!

The sandwiches here are amazing! Not only is it a great environments the owner Max is the sweetest guy around. He takes so much time and so much dedication into each and every sandwich, he’s always coming up with new ideas. I had the turkey avocado and added bacon. I also had the Swiss Orange Cookie and it was so good!!! No one else can beat the food here and their deserts! I wish I lived in the area just for this deli to be near me. Definitely worth traveling for or just going down the street for. By far my favorite deli I have ever been too!!! Thanks Max!!!

Wow, amazing. I was going through Auburn for work, and was craving a sandwich. I stopped by Max’s deli, which was slightly hard to find, though definitely worth it. The people were friendly, the sandwiches come in half sizes, which is perfect and they were delicious!!! I got the Monterey and was thrilled with my choice. I love that it comes with a bag of chips as well. Next time I am through Auburn, I will definitely be back.

I would give them five stars but it lacks in ambiance… but…
You can’t really tell from the outside of the location, but this place is REALLY good! It is set back in the corner of a business complex, and appears rather tiny from the outside looking in. Typically it has a line coming out the door on work days around noon. They have joined with a mobile app called square that lets you view and select items from the menu, and pay all from your mobile phone! This has saved me so much time during my small half hour lunch. I order 20 minutes before my lunch time begins with square, literally walk in and am greeted with a smile and my order is handed to me and I leave. So for convenience sake, this is a HUGE benefit to their customers!
The menu items have a New York Deli selection, I have only had their pastrami and it is to DIE for. Thick cut pieces of pastrami, marbled rye… so good. Their potato salad is super yummy also, not to sweet, with light flavoring. You can tell the owner has pride in his menu and his service. Can’t wait to try other items!

Quaint little corner deli! It’s so hipster, with yummy sandwich, salad or soup and soda combos that are creative, and affordable! Lucky find! Totally stopping by here in the future.
