I cannot agree more with the previous reviewer. It is a waste for drunks to eat. Make sure to build your appetite and skip the line over at farm haus and mellow mushroom. This little hole in the wall is amazing. The person in the kitchen makes these hot sandwiches with quality ingredients. The peppered chicken cheese sandwich was tender and peppery, and the cheese melted fantastically. It all came together very well with the bun. Kind of messy but the taste is well worth going back inside to ask for a fork. Fries are great as well. Please spread the word.

I waited over 4 years to try this place. I think it has been in my bookmarks since I started my account on Unilocal.I couldn’t ever catch them open. Boy oh boy, I see why God made me wait so long, because he knows his child and anything that is super good I would want it everyday!!! The sandwich I had was AMAZING!!! And let’s not talk about the fries!!! I will put money on what I’m about to say!!! They have the BESTFRIESINAUGUSTA!!! Firm, perfectly cooked, and well seasoned!!! I had the Jalapeño Ribeye Melt with fries. It’s like a cheesesteak with onions, peppers, cheese, and jalapeños. I omitted everything except the cheese and jalapeños. I should have omitted the jalapeños too, because they were extremely hot and I haven’t been eating spicy food like I use to. The meat was seasoned to perfection and the bread was so yummy. I compare it to the bread at Publix deli. By the look of many pictures I saw before I ate here, I thought the food would be messy, greasy, and soggy. It was NONE of those things!!! The food was prepared with delicacy and was very appetizing!!! My mouth is watering as I type this review!!! Luckily I still have a piece of that sandwich in the fridge that I’m about to devour as soon as this review is proofread and submitted!!! I can’t believe I have been missing out on the deliciousness that comes out of this place!!! This place is added to my favorite restaurants of Augusta list and it may jump to my favorite restaurant period in Augusta!!! DAMN, DAMN, DAMN!!! I need another fix like Pookie from New Jack City!!! That sandwich and fries keep calling me!!! It just keep calling me!!!

Excellent sandwich. I ordered to cheese steak sandwich with swiss cheese and fries. The meat was seasoned great and full of flavor. Definitely a spot I would come back to often.

This place is definitely a hidden gem in Augusta. If you didn’t know it was there, you’d walk right by it. This is a tiny little place that serves big flavor! I really like the décor and the fact that their menu is different pictures on the wall. I couldn’t decide so i got both the PBR-B-Q(Brisket) sandwich and also the jalapeño slaw dawg. Both were AMAZINGNESS! They also have really great sauces for the sauce aficionados out there like myself. These things are so good they’ll have you wanting to go back the next day. The recently started also started opening up at 4pm-2am weds-sat so they are no longer a late night only place. I’ll definitely be back quite often.

Been here twice, so this is an amalgamation of those visits. First one was amazing– the Beer-B-Q was heaven in my mouth… especially at [insert ungodly time of night/morning here]. Unfortunately, my second visit resulted in no food. I guess it’s partly on me to be wary of any place whose hours are«xx00 — UNTIL». Apparently tonight, «until» was 2:15am. Without notice. So much for my sandwich-style happy ending. I guess I’ll have to make sure they’re still serving next time before I drive down here. Either that, or just grab a bite at 7pm to ensure they’re here(just in time to get home for«Murder She Wrote,» too).

They know what they’re doing here. Only open late, so 90% of their clientele is drunk and will buy their food, scarf it down, and rave to their drunk friends about how delicious it is. Granted, I have never had their food sober but I can reach back into the dim memories and confirm that it is, in fact, delicious unhealthy food. I have had the wings and the PBR-bacue(on different nights, several times each) and they’re both great. You get the food in a to-go box so you can either Über home and feast in privacy, or sit your sloppy drunk ass on the tables outside and devour your meal in plain view of the general public. Each box gets a healthy fistful of fries coated in some heavenly seasoning of who knows what, served with a dipping sauce which is probably mostly mayonnaise(but damn it’s good). Or maybe I’m doing it wrong and the sauce is for the sandwich. Either way, Knuckle Sandwiches has served me many pleasant nightcaps and I will continue to exchange my hard-earned dollars for their salty, mouth-watering midnight meals.

Great late night spot after a night of bar hoping! Everything is good! I ate there tonight. I recommend the wings. Both favors are good!

Pretty much the rudest service you’ll ever get downtown. The fries are good and the PBR-becue is good as well. However, being drunk makes most food better. The main plus to this place is that it’s open late.

This place used to be good. Now, it’s all attitude from the staff and«we can’t… We don’t have that… We’re running low» on everything from beef patties to wings to brisket. That’s almost everything they serve. So either they’ve gotten lazy in stocking or lazy in service. But hey the girl giving you attitude over your simple order has a septum piercing so it’s ok, right? Wrong. This place is going nowhere fast.

What can I say about this sandwich place. Other than. Imagine you waitdd four day for this place to open. When you finally get the first bite of the sandwich, you just can’t stop eating it. Yes. It’s that good. The place is very small with table inside and outside to seat. Every time I when, service was fast about 8min. Can’t wait until tonight to get another sandwich.

This review is not based on the food! I have been hoping for a while that I’d be able to try the food here, as I’ve heard wonderful word of mouth reviews. I happen to work a graveyard shift so coming here during lunch hours would be very difficult for me. So you can imagine my excitement when I found out this place stays open until 3am. Just to make sure the hours were correct, I called at 1:15am and spoke to a really nice man who told me that they close at «threeish». And I asked if they would be serving food. The man replied that they«Only serve food.» So I laughed at myself for asking a dumb question. But, I asked because I know that some places downtown stop serving food late at night. I thanked the man on the phone and thus began my journey across town to get to the location at least an hour before closing time. From my house it’s a 35 – 40 minute drive to reach downtown. I made it inside the door to Knuckles just after 2am. I stood in line for 2 – 3 minutes, took in the small scenery, good food smells, and the people of the night. The place looked really cool. Looked like my kind of place. And then the worst thing happened. I watched a female server bring to the counter about ten Togo boxes for the customers who came before me. The line moved up and as I approached the counter the female server looked passed me and very unapologetically shouted, «No more orders… Sorry!» And then she busied herself with another task. I didn’t get any explanation, no «sorry guys we ran out of food.» Or «sorry for the inconvenience, but we are shutting down early tonight.» A little appreciation or sympathy for your customers go a long way to me. I know this is maybe a rough and tough type of place,(hence the name«knuckles Sandwiches») and there might be some sassy, or rugged characters working there, but tonight I got very cold service. I turned around, head lowered, and waded through the crowds of bar goers… Got into my car and made the arduous trip back home. I know tonight was probably a very busy night for the people at knuckles sandwiches. I understand that these things can happen. I’ll try to come back another time and I’ll adjust my review accordingly after tasting the food that many people in my circles rave about. And I suppose the next time I call, I’ll order over the phone or ask what time they stop serving food. But, after all… I feel extremely let down, so I don’t think I’ll be paying a visit anytime soon.

This place is really good when you’re hitting the bars downtown. Come here without a few drinks in you and you’ll quickly realize just how ridiculous their prices are. I got the PBR-beque and a separate order of fries and the total came up to nearly $ 15 with drink. While the fries are pretty good, the sandwich was nothing special especially at that price point. You’re honestly better off picking up fast food on Walton Way. But alas if you aren’t in a position to get there, Knuckle Sandwiches will do…

Man. Cuban Reuben? Friend of the Devil? Great sandwich names for great sandwiches. In town for one night looking for anything after 10pm and never thought that I’d stumble across some seriously great food. The owner took our order and was super personable(never got his name). Then he proceeded to go and help cook the food. Love the passion. Love it. Only drawback was that when we walked in some of the customers treated us like we shouldn’t be there. Guess they don’t like black folks in their awesome food hangout. Never deterred us one bit though. Tipped huge and reveled in our feast at the hotel room. Keep up the good work Knuckle Sandwiches, you guys are awesome. Just tell your guests to not scare good patrons when they walk in. Your friends could be costing you money.

These sandwiches are wasted on the drunk. I tend to think the drunk will eat anything after a night of bad decisions but what do I know? The shop is a small unassuming spot with a few tables and it’s easy to walk right past it. There are no bright lights or signs to lure you in, but rather the inviting scents of braised pork should do the trick. I made a special trip to try their PBR-BQ sandwich and my effort was well rewarded. At 10:30p.m. there was no line but all tables were filled with happy diners. I ordered a PBR-BQ with fries($ 8.50) and only had to wait around for about 6 minutes, during which I took in the boxing theme of the shop. Here I thought the«knuckle» in knuckle sandwich had to do with pork knuckles but see clearly someone has a fascination with old time boxing. I took my sandwich home and couldn’t resist sneaking in a few fries. Oh my gosh, seasoned French fries are my kryptonite and I wish I saved more so I could shove them in the sandwich itself like Pittsburgh style. I waited patiently to dive into the meat of it myself and treated my dog with just a few tidbits as it was just too good not to share. The meat was tender, juicy and very well paired with the tangy BBQ given on the side. The bread is grilled and complements the pork well with it’s smokiness. My only complaint would be the lack of enough cheese to help even out the strong flavor of the sauce but that’s just me.

One of Augusta’s hidden gems. Very small place and at times you may have to wait for a bit to get your food, but when you do its amazing! Bacon cheeseburger with fries…

The owner Josh is experienced to say the least. If you are lucky enough to taste his«blessed» specials than you know this man has spent time abroad and understands the suddleties of flavor nuance. However, that PBRbQ will wrap your nutz in a vice and make you wish for more. My god, it’s glorious! Keep doing whatever you do to that Pig and keep serving that fine Knuckle Sands Late Night Quisine! Best thing on the late night Augusta menu… Eat up!

This place is open later than most, and the food is just okay with one exception: the PBR-B-Q. It should not be missed. I don’t even like barbecue and I think it is good. I’d recommend trying that and not coming here again, because the service is abysmal. You could potentially wait 20 — 30 minutes for your order, busy or not.

Absolutely incredible drunk food that you do not need to be drunk to enjoy. I discovered them on Thursday and went back later that night for another cheesesteak. Being from the Northeast and having had my fair share of legit cheesesteaks, it says a lot that I sought out round two of their amazing rib eye steak sandwich, on the same day! Talk about a craving!!! My brother in law tried their pulled pork and was in HEAVEN. Go there, get something, anything, you won’t regret it. Except maybe your calorie count for the day. It’s worth the extra miles on the treadmill. It’s that good. Best heavyweight/late night sandwich in Augusta.
