This is an update to my 6 month review. AMLI Eastside was hands down the most enjoyable community I’ve lived in; These folks are on top of it. This is the first complex I’ve lived in where the management was actually looking out for my best interest. Cannot say enough good things about AMLI Eastside.

AMLI Eastside is an excellent place to live. People do not generally write good reviews of building management, but the reviews on Unilocal seem overly harsh. I have only good things to say about the management. Service requests are taken care of quickly, and everyone is so helpful in the the leasing office, which is open seven days a week. If anything, the residents here need to clean up after themselves better, but many are young and do not yet know better, while others are just spoiled or entitled. Personally, I really appreciate how hard the staff works and how much extra effort they make.

Terrible place to live.
1. Water leaks all the time.
2. Always adding extra fees to your rent each month.
3. You can hear garbage man every other hour (all night/​all day)
4. Lots of bugs.
5. Will tow your car no matter what.
6. Management always unresponsive. I travel for my job and need someone to pick up at the office when they announce their «power washing the parking garage and move your car.» If you don’t move your car it is towed or scratched and dented because of the sand/​dirt/​water.
7. Constantly inefficient and wasting money on pointless matters.
Amli will never earn my business again.

My Husband and I have now lived at AMLI Eastside for over a year and just signed another lease. Needless to say, we love the property, our apartment, and most of all, the front office staff and maintenance team! I would recommend AMLI Eastside without hesitation.

This review is for Maintenance.
You can put in service requests via web and they are prompt to follow up and fix. I didn’t report a light out in front of my door and they submitted it and sent me an email confirming it was done which was nice. They are good at leaving notes Nd warning when they are working on the building or need to come in which isn’t often.

Cons:
1. Noise: This is by far the loudest apartment I’ve ever lived in. You hear every step from neighbors above you. And if you’re lucky… you can even tell what they’re watching on TV. Guys above me like The Office. From my kitchen with the door closed I can hear people walking in the hallway, on the floor above! Had to move my bed to the other side of the room because I could hear my neighbor having sex, then resorted to purchasing noise canceling head phones. Also, The windows absorb no sound and I was regularly disturbed by the construction outside.
Staff:Aside from Matthew, the staff is rude and unsympathetic to the torture you endure as a AMLI Eastside tenant.
Management: Other reviewers share a similar sentiment. Just one example– Amli bought property and sectioned off the lobby for themselves. If they aren’t open, visitors must enter through the garage. If you want to use the coffee maker/​pool tables/​gym/​pool– you must walk upstairs, over, and back downstairs (rather than through the locked lobby). They will nickle and dime you, you pay for luxury living and get treated like you’re at Gitmo.
Safety: Management will make sure things are safe when it’s too late or convinent for them.

You know that genie-​out-​of-​that-​bottle thing? Amli Eastside’s like that: Your wish is my command! We’ve been living here since Labor Day 2013. I cannot wish for a better managed and maintained joint. The location is perfect for us. No smoke, no mirrors here.

I’ve lived here for about 6 months now and have had nothing but a positive experience yet. This is my first apartment in Austin after relocating from Chicago. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. If you have a maintenance problem, someone will be at your door within a few minutes to help! For this part of town, the price is affordable as well. My only complaint would be the parking garage, I feel like I almost get hit everyday!

Moved in July 2014. This is hands down once of the nicest complexes I’ve lived in. The front office is always super nice and always willing to help. The Amli is constantly doing events like giving away tacos or donuts at the gate in the morning or giving away cupcakes in the office in the afternoon.
Any maintenance request I’ve submitted has been addressed with in 24 hrs unless it has been an emergency (something happened with the lock on my front door) and that was addressed immediately.
I have a gym membership so I don’t use the facilities very frequently, but from my small experience I can say the gym is clean and pretty well rounded as far as types of equipment.

Now that we’ve lived at the AMLI for over a year, I wanted to update our review.
The management, especially Patrick, are really great. Some of the management can be a little cold or rude, but we just ignore that one and work with Patrick or David.
Pros:
— Rent prices are great for the area.
— We can walk to downtown.
— The pool is really nice and well maintained.
— Free gym (not usually that crowded, though the gym could use an extra treadmill or two)
— Very pet friendly
— The management is there to help. You can tell most of them want to make this a great experience.
— Units are very nice
— Everyone who lives here seems to be around the same age, which is nice since we are in the same age (late 20s to early-​30s?).
— Programmable A/​C and thermostat — tricky at first but so cool!
— Pay your rent online/​auto-​payments
— Apartments are quiet and you can’t hear your neighbors (can hear people outside though)
Cons:
— Valet trash service results in a $ 25 fee each month even if you don’t use it. This amount is in addition to rent.
— Hallways smell like garbage
— Elevators, hallways, stairwells and common areas are not maintained and are very dirty
— There is a high turn over rate among the office staff
— The place is so giant that it can be confusing when guests come to visit
— A lot of random small ($ 2) fees on the rent bills for the month (and the rent bills are sometimes unclear about the charges)
All in all, I would definitely continue to renew here. We had a few hiccups when we moved in, but everything else has been really amazing due to the staff’s desire to go above and beyond.

I moved in at the beginning of June 2014 and the most outstanding aspect of this apartment complex by far is the customer service, from the maintenance staff all the way to the complex manager, Patrick, I feel like I’m living in a 5-​star hotel when it comes to customer service.
I had an issue when I first moved into my apartment, there was a lot of noise created by some mechanical issues with the entry gate. When I talked to Lacie, the supervisor, she and Patrick worked together to find a solution ensuring that I was happy with my experience and got me moved into a different apartment where noise is no longer an issue.
Considering the fair prices, the OUTSTANDING customer service, and the amazing amenities (top notch gym, free coffee every morning, access to pool tables and shuffle board, and plenty of guest parking) I could not be happier with my decision to live here.
I will say that the building itself has its issues. But to be fair, AMLI did not build this apartment complex. They inherited the mess and have done an exceptional job cleaning it all up. There are still maintenance issues that they are running into, but they spare no expense getting it all rectified so the residents can live comfortably.

I dont know why the people are all complaining about this apartment complex. I moved in Febuary 2014 and I am moving out at the end of July. So far i can say that all employees are perfect. Our previous customer representative Ashley Higgins was perfect and all helpful for everything we needed. After her the new representatives were very friendly and helpful, too. The new Manager Patrick Broomer is an awesome guy and took care of all problems we had personally.
Pool sometimes could be overused by the guests of residents but it was cleaned by the management as soon as possible. The gym was great. And the free coffee machine in community center. I will never forget my time in AMLI Eastside. Thank you guys.

Best bang for your buck anywhere close to downtown. Excellent office and maintenance staff, good amenities (pool, fitness center, clubhouse that’s great for watching games, and an awesome latte machine), and tons of great restaurants and other local businesses within a few blocks. They’re also pet-​friendly. Residents skew towards the young professional crowd, but that should be expected this close to downtown. If you’re looking for peace and serenity, move out to the suburbs. If you want to be part of a young, fun, vibrant community, I highly recommend this place.

AMLI Eastside is a great value for the location. It is easily walkable to downtown and Rainey without paying downtown prices. I have lived in AMLI for a year and plan on renewing my lease.
I have always been happy with AMLI Eastside but the push to write this review is because the office staff helped me out of a huge bind. I needed to ship my car and I had already left town. The AMLI staff was able to meet the shipper, sign all paperwork and ensure a smooth pickup. I don’t know what I would have done if they had not stepped up to help out when I asked them at the last minute. I really appreciated the customer service and the staff going above and beyond to help me out.

I live here currently and the staff is always nice and accommodating. There were some problems with the exterior of the buildings when I moved in but it looks like they are doing everything they can to get things fixed up.
I think Jason in the office is pretty nice too. I would recommend this apartment complex to people. I love that you can walk all kinds of places (restaurants, coffee shops, etc.) from this location too.

DO NOT live here… if you’re thinking about it… think again.
I’ve lived here for almost 4 years now, and I loved when this place was Robertson Hill. BUT…
I wish I could give 0 stars for AMLI Eastside. They took over Robertson Hill about a year ago, and everything has completely gone downhill.
Sure it’s a great location, but it’s not worth dealing with the management team here at AMLI eastside.
About a month a situation arose where my roommate and I were both called up out of the blue, AT WORK, and told us that we literally had to come sign our 6 month renew lease by the end of the day or else we would be forced to move out. Long story short, through a «miscommunication» through the apartments, we were told we could not renew our 6 month lease and were told we had to move out at the end of the month!!!
So after the fiasco, my roommate and I were freaking out about having to move at the end of the month, the gave us a pity call and told us that they would make an exception for us and that we could come sign our 6 month lease. HORRIBLY
RIDICULOUS.
Everything that they are doing here is to add to their connivence, definitely not the residences. None of their «renovations» that they are making make it any easier, or better for the residents of this complex.
Please save yourself the trouble, and do not even consider moving to AMLI Eastside.

RENTER BEWARE! My husband and I lived here for 15months signed with Robertson Hill and then were there for the AMLI East transitions. from late 2011 to late 2012
Location is great but CRIME is super high. We had a two bedroom apart mean facing the south side right over the French Legation parking lot and we would see tons of homeless people or squatters wondering the area. I brought this to the attention of the front desk and every time they said «Sorry Nothing we can do about it.» Cars were always getting broken into outside and inside the garage. When it was Robertson Hill they had a on site security guard, so you always kind of felt well if anything horrible happens then there is someone who can help asap. When AMLI started we had a issue with someone passed out in the middle of the hallway and we called the security line and they told use it would take them 45 to a hour to get there. The sad thing is that nothing was really done to protect outsiders coming into the parking garage until someone was sexual assaulted in the middle of the day.
The front desk staff are very rude but for the benefit of the doubt they deal with a lot of traffic and from what I read ALOT OF UNHAPPY Renters. So I am sure it can get very frustrating.
Other cons, things like the work out room which the equipment is ALWAYS BROKEN and NEVER FIXED. The pool area is falling apart and is always filled with people who DON’T EVEN LIVE THERE. Yes the pool apartment is that place where you know you can swim with out even been questioned. Also the hall ways are a complete dump, walls are painted poorly and flooring looks like it has seen better days. These things do not reflect the SKY HIGH RENT.
My husband moved to South 1st St before 71where we are paying under a 1000 for a two bedroom.
Before you pay almost 1900 in rent PLEASE rethink this place.
One major and only positive is that people pick up after their dogs. Also lots of poop bag stations.

The location is fantastic! When this place was Robertson Hill Apartments the staff was kind, friendly, polite, and helpful. Since AMLI took over the management has done a complete flip. The staff is only helpful to potential new renters, if you already live here you are made to feel like a second class citizen. They’ve tried to make changes to community rules despite wording in the lease held from Robertson Hill renters with many arguments from myself and I believe others, but they state everyone wants these changes … I say, you never actually asked anyone. AMLI has made this great location much less desirable. That being said the actual apartments have suited me well, with the exception for horrible, cell and cable service that all companies attribute to the building itself (supposedly some parts of the building are better than others).

These are pretty good apartments. Nice location. Decent amenities. A year ago, I would have given AMLI Eastside (formerly Robertson Hill) a 4-​star review. But then AMLI took over in Fall 2012, and it’s been all downhill ever since. I used to frequently recommend Robertson Hill to my friends who were moving, but now I actively caution and discourage them from even considering this place. I’ll likely move out soon.
The new management are autocrats who run this place more like a juvenile detention center than somewhere you’d want to call home. Immediately after taking over, they fired the old staff (who were very friendly and easy to work with), began instituting strict new policies, limiting access to the building and its amenities, eliminating perks, and constantly inconveniencing the residents — all while simultaneously raising rental rates by hundreds of dollars and lowering the quality of service. And I’m not the only one who’s complaining. Literally every single resident I know here has a laundry list of complaints about the AMLI policies, prices, and people. And the other Unilocal reviews on this page seem to back me up as well.
So if you’re looking to live downtown, look elsewhere first. These apartments have nice curb appeal and look great on paper, but within a few months of living here, you’ll wish you had chosen differently. Especially now that AMLI has raised the prices so much, you can easily find a better place for the same cost.

Don’t live here. Don’t don’t don’t don’t don’t. You’re probably thinking, «for the location, I can deal with the management.» You cannot deal with the management. Find another place to live.
They think emails, many of which bounced off of me since they had my email address completely wrong in the system, serve as appropriate notice for things like HAVING THE ENTIRE COMPLEX’S CARS MOVE so they can repaint the garage. We had a hell of a time getting my roommate’s car moved since he’s a consultant and is out of town frequently.
My favorite is the combative, belligerent staff who answer your request to pick up a package at 9:30am with «is it 10am yet?» and when you explain that you need to go to work, but really need your package, a glare followed by «is it 10am yet?» REAL STORY! HAPPENED TO ME!
Clearly, these new people Dallas transplants.
I was recently towed from a what I believed was a visitor’s spot, but was changed via an email I never received. When I went up front to complain, or just figure out what I had missed, the front office woman immediately took a rude tone, saying they had been towing up their for MONTHS and that it’s my fault for not checking my email. After verifying that they did, in fact, have the wrong email address for me, and that I never could have received that email, they still levied fault on me for the towing charges.
AMLI, fire everyone that works in this building. They are a nightmare to be around. Picking up packages is a soul-​crushing experience. I can count on at least one door between me and my apartment being broken every single I time I come home. It’s jaw-​dropping how incompetently this place is run. I am so sad that I renewed in June only to have AMLI swoop in and ruin this once-​pleasant apartment complex.
