AOMA Herbal Medicine

I have trouble every time I go to this store. They don’t open on time, they don’t answer their phone when they are open, they don’t fill prescriptions within the time they say, they loose prescriptions, they can’t find herbs they think they have in stock…
Really, every single time I go in it is troublesome.

This is an awesome store! The people that work there are super friendly, very knowledgeable and helpful. I went in to buy a topical patch for soreness in my hand. The woman was on the phone. She put the person on hold to help me — very cool! When I showed her a previous patch that my acupuncturist gave me, she wasn’t quite sure what it was but helped me find something that she thought would be comparable. It is awesome! Helps so much. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for alternatives to Western medicine. It’s also just a very cool place to shop!

I have been to White Crane ALOT! I go primarily to see Anne Cusick. She is absolutely fabulous! I cannot say enough about Anne. I probably should not have said anything because now she will be so busy I can’t get an appointment! She works with the community clinic so the prices are VERY reasonable. The staff is always very friendly and the products are life savers! Love me some White Crane!

The cure for what ails you… The acupuncture clinic has become part of our wellness plan — it is AMAZING how much better you feel. ALl the folks are super helpful, but Anne has become our «go to» person anytime we have an ache, pain or sniffle. So far it’s been WAY cheaper than going to the Dr. and getting prescriptions filled, and has worked as well, if not better.

I read the reviews here and went to White Crane looking for a small statue of Buddha a couple of weeks ago. I was absolutely delighted with the service, the variety of products they carry, and, of course, all the Buddhas. I got my own wonderful statue for a very reasonable price, plus a bunch of stuff I just could not resist (like Green & Blacks chocolate :). Plus they offer a 20% discount on everything on Saturdays.

I love this place! I am a Chinese Medicine student and get almost all of my supplies from this location. They have a great selection of needles and herbs at reasonable prices. There are also lots of other interesting things in the store as well. Though I wouldn’t shop here if it weren’t for the supplies I need as a Chinese medicine student. They also won’t sell needles to the general public, which I like. You can, however, buy whatever herbs you like, but you should always have either Chinese medicine training or have a prescription from someone who does, because otherwise you won’t know what you’re doing. You can’t just pick an herbal formula labeled simply for «stress» like you can in Western medicine. It doesn’t work like that.
I’ve never received any treatments from interns so I can’t vouch for that, but I hear they’re awesome.
Their staff is very friendly and know me and my friends by name because we frequent there so much. :o)
Plus! Every day they have a deal going on. I know Monday their herbs are 10−15% off, but I can’t remember what the other days are.

knowledgeable & friendly staff. the student clinic is open until 7:30pm on Tuesdays with the student interns from AOMA (the school on Anderson Ln) who give great treatments at low prices. great place to treat yourself.

Hit and miss with the student acupuncture/​healing treatments. I’ve been twice and had one who was effective (acupuncture) and one that was not (touch/pressing…not a massage but something touch-​related). Great price for the service if you get a good acupuncturist, but I would be pretty adamant if you want that type of treatment because the students and their specialties shift around and you could end up with something you’re not interested in. I was not aware of that or I would’ve said something… I kept expecting the 2^nd guy to whip out the needles and when he didn’t, I went along with it and tried to be open minded. Turns out I’m more of an acupuncture girl.

This is an odd place. The service is sometimes snotty, sometimes good. But it’s a really good place to browse for Buddha-​ish accoutrements for your décor or altar if your a meditator. I got some really cool stone carved elephants on the cheap, and a neat wood happy Buddha. They have some good flavors of Dagoba bars that I can’t find elsewhere (chai) and sometimes some cool zenish clothes. I also like the one on Anderson for post Korea-​house sushi shopping.
I know they have all kinds of herbal medicine but I have not delved as of yet.

But, still the place my acupuncturist sends me to have my prescriptions filled when needed.
The folks are friendly (I can say that once one of those folks started heading down the «too friendly» path but it didn’t last long enough to be an issue.)

A store that is just hippie enough to be hip, but not so bizarre that I feel out of place. I went straight to the Bach flower remedies (a must have, they use flowers to help cure many different ailments) and then wandered among pleasant smelling creations, spoke to the ridiculously healthy and with it staff and mused about how much I would really like to be a hippie.
They have little metal rocks with words like passion on them and… really I could go on and on. Its hard to explain, but of those of you who enjoy a foray into the flower child world, or you are just trying to get a tad bit healthier or more spiritual, I would swing by White Crane.

My right brain went into «This store is really cool» mode immediately with the mobile and prayer bells at the front of the store. I didn’t even know they made so many different types of prayer bells.
This store also offers herbs, crystals and that sort of thing without being to mystical about it. They have many books to explain the practicality of it, so they didn’t come of as being too new age like for me.
They also have different types of clothing, some unique musical instruments and gifts.

The fun stuff you can look at in the store waiting to see a doctor is plentiful. They have a student clinic open until about 4pm. .. very reasonable, the doctor is on hand to review their diagnosies and discuss the best route for healing. I am a musician and they offer «musician discounts» which are awesome, plus they have onhand all of the raw herbs they need to fill your persciption! Good place to go if you need some ehlp with healing. They are accupunturists and herbalists and quite open minded too! :)
