Did a great job quick response and it was done in about 20 minutes. Had a keyset replaced set on my 94 mercury sable.

DID NOT do business with Adam. Didn’t have the pleasure to! This nice man answered my call for help at 2pm on a Saturday and basically explained to me why a different locksmith was charging me $ 200+ [car brand was hard to find parts for] and Adam himself did not have the keys. HOWEVER, he said he probably would have charged the exact same thing had he had the keys.
I’m huge on customer service. This man did NOT have to help me or give any advice. I appreciate his time and therefore if this happens again he will be the first call I make!

What a great tragedy for a young, broke Austinite: my bike was locked in by a keyless (and heartless) Kryptonite lock. I sent out estimate requests to at least 10 businesses, and this dude was not only the quickest to reply, he also gave me the cheapest price estimate AND he was able to come on super short notice. Within less than an hour of searching for locksmiths on Unilocal,my bike was once again free of its earthly confinement, and I literally biked away into the Texan sunset.
In short, this guy rocks.

Showed up to my house promptly and as promised. Unfortunately he accidentally broke the internal plastic frame within my car, but was very quick to fix it free of charge. This guy is passionate about what he does and has his customers’ best interests at heart.

Our crappy tongue-​lever front door knob was coming off this morning, so we called Austin Key Guy. Their employee Michael came out in about an hour. Very knowledgeable and pleasant. Explained what was wrong and gave us a couple of different options, with complete pros and cons. We opted for repair versus replacement at this point, and he fixed it right up. $ 75-​not at all bad for such good service on a weekend. These guys will be our go-​to company for anything related to locksmithing.

After seeing the great reviews of Austin Key Guy, I wanted to be able to leave my own review for amazing service. Alas, that is not my fate.
In trying to get a Mercedes key programmed I called AKG and was referred to another, brick and mortar locksmith. Hence the 3 stars; it was very kind of the nice guy who answered, (I assume it was Adam) to take the time to refer me to another vendor and answer the couple questions I had.
Unfortunately, the vendor he referred me to couldn’t help and told me to go to the dealer… which was what I was trying to avoid all along. Oh well!

After losing my 2011 Prius key and fob to the murky depths of the Lower Colorado River, I was quoted an ASTRONOMICAL price for a replacement from the dealer. I am so glad to have found Adam (The Austin Key Guy). He ordered the replacements and texted me 2 days later. We arranged to meet in a shopping center parking lot, where he cut the new key and programmed the fob (both looked identical to my wife’s factory key). The whole process took about 20 minutes. The price was a fraction of the dealer quote. The Austin Key Guy was professional, nice and affordable. Highly recommended!

I can’t say enough good things about Austin Key Guy. I recently lost the keys to a rental car (a nightmare). Adam went out of his way to help me out late in the afternoon the day before he went on vacation. He was able to quickly unlock the vehicle and program a new key fob in about 20 minutes. I was going to have the Nissan dealer program the other key, but when I found out what they were going to charge me (not to mention they were rude and unhelpful) I called Adam. He was able to meet me that afternoon and get the second fob programmed on the spot. As so many others have said, Adam is nice and personable, not what you would expect to get when you call a locksmith. I highly recommend Austin Key Guy and will most definitely call him again if I ever need a lockmith.

Adam is a total professional through and through. He arrived on time (actually, he beat me to my house by 2 minutes!) and ready to work. Prior to installation and during, he provided knowledgable, experienced advice about how to better ensure the longevity of some of our outdoor locks, things to consider for installing an outdoor keypad, and more. He’s a total delight and was in and out in less than 30 minutes to replace several locks in our house. His pricing is totally fair and transparent. All in all, Adam is a great guy and you should totally hire him to be your key guy!

This guy is great! He only took about 15 minutes to get to us (which is unheard of during ACL traffic) and he got the door open in 30 seconds (BAM!). His pricing was straight forward (no extra fees like service charge, labor, etc).
The best part: he is a genuinely nice person and somehow made the experience (which is usually nothing shy of a pain in the a**) bearable and comical.
I hope I never need a locksmith again, but if I do I’m calling this guy!

He arrived incredibly quickly to break me out of a bind and cut a lock for me– honestly it was record time as far as having a service show up and because of my inclination to lose keys almost monthly, I deal with a lot of ‘key guys’ and can say he was by far the most efficient. Adam does all cars as well so if you are a putz like me who loses keys of all kinds call this company.

I was worried about having my fob programmed outside of my dealer, but Adam was on time, honest and the best deal available on a Chrysler 300S fob.
He had me up and running within 20 mins.
I’m never going back to a dealer for my keys/​fobs again.

One of the last things my son said to me before leaving for basic, «don’t lose my car key, I only have one». Sound like a challenge to me. Unfortunately, it was a challenge I succeeded in. After tearing the house apart, going to the garbage and every drawer I couldn’t find that damn key. For weeks I looked. After giving up I called The Key Guy. Adam came out the next day and cut me to keys and programed them. Surprising after I wrote the check, the original key still hasn’t appeared. Thanks Adam for bailing me out.

And will NEVER even think of going back to a car dealership or another key shop to replace a key in the future. Called Adam and was given a very reasonable quote to replace a lost key/​fob/​remote and to reset the system. The key was ordered and in within two days, job completed in 45minutes.
Smooth as silk transaction and very professional. AND he’s mobile. What’s not to like?

The reviews don’t lie. I needed to get my commercial space rekeyed and called these guys at 9am. Michael promptly got back to me and told me he could meet me around noon. I told him it wasn’t urgent but that worked out for him anyway which was great.
He was on-​time as promised (actually early!) and got everything taken care of quickly. My client had just had a bad experience with another local shop (I won’t name names), so I was happy to pass on a good referral for the future.

came into austin from Houston for an appointment. ‘Ma’am, you can’t bring your purse or phone in here.’ K. cool. i’ll just throw everything in my purse and lock it in the trunk and be on my way. noooooooooooooooo! it was like one of those slo-​mo movie moments. My keeeeeys! yeah. locked in the trunk. Like R Kelly was locked in the closet.
After about 5 hours of trying to get into my car and finding out that even using a «pop a lock» service (who, tho a scam, was unbelievably helpful and even called Austin Key guy for me in the end) wouldn’t get me in my car… Austin Key Guy came to my rescue.
In about 10 minutes Andy cut me a key, opened my car and trunk and had me going. For $ 80 bucks. Thank you Andy, you are my savior, why didn’t i just call you in the first place?
So, yeah, save yourself the heartache, stress and possible thoughts of throwing yourself into traffic rather than deal with the mess of getting your keys released from the prison of your trunk.

I have a 2001 Ford Focus, and after all those years I guess the key and ignition cylinder called it quits, because as I tried to leave for work one day the key just simply wouldn’t go in.
The solution for me was Austin Key guy. I went with him based on rave Unilocal reviews, and my experience was par for the course. Start to finish, here is why I give 5 stars:
Contact: I called and got voice mail. The voice mail said to text and so I did — I got an almost immediate response. Not just a response, but he got the ball rolling: said he could fix it, gave me a quote, asked where I was at. Basically, all it took was one text and I was halfway to solving my problem. That’s peace of mind, right there.
Arrival: I told him I would be at the house at 11am, he got there 11:30am. For a person who is driving all over town all day, I consider this to be excellent.
Price: Reasonable.
Service: Fast, friendly, and very to the point. I got an email receipt and he was on his way.
Adam, you have another loyal customer. I will definitely think of you first for all things key related!

When I lost my first set of car keys I told myself I’d go make a replacement right away… when I lost my spare set of car keys I told myself I was screwed… No masters left and not even a spare key to open a door. I wish I could say I had an easy, inexpensive key to replicate but I don’t.
I have a 2001 Grand Jeep Cherokee and my keys have a chip in it so they are neither cheap nor easy to replicate. when I called the Jeep dealer I told them my dilemma. the only option I had was to tow my car to them and then they could make me a set of keys. Really?
When I went online to find a locksmith, I was met with some SKETCHY SKETCHY websites along with a not so reputable jeep locksmiths on Unilocal.after a few more key word searches I found Austin Key Guy. saw that he also did car keys and gave him a call. He gave me 2 quotes, depending on how he’d have to proceed to get my key programmed. Both very reasonable and competitive with the rate the car dealership was giving me.
I was 15 minutes late but Adam was really nice and accommodating about it. He came and worked on my car right away, it took less than 5 minutes for him to make a key for my door and then maybe 30 minutes or less to program 2 keys for me. it was a hot day but he did everything without a complaint! I really appreciated that! I also appreciated the fact that he didn’t make me feel dumb about having to use his service (I mean, can you believe that sometimes you are PAYING people to make you feel stupid). He didn’t make me feel embarrassed at all. trust me, I was.
The time it took for me to call him, schedule an appointment, and for him to get everything done was so speedy I even tipped him $ 10. Wish I could tip him more! For $ 250 I essentially have 2 programmed car keys and 1 key that will open my door only. Worth it to me.
