I rented a wonderful, four bedroom home from Austin Rent a Home in Del Valle, TX for almost a year. David and Sharon are always quick to respond whenever a repair is necessary. They processed my application in one day. This was key to me, as I was moving from the Seattle area for a new job and did not even have a chance to view the property before signing my lease. I was not disappointed. The property was in great condition and the neighborhood was safe, friendly and family oriented. I love the fact that they have an online payment service that reminds you when your rent is due and you can make payments directly through the service online. Unfortunately, as my profession often dictates, I had to move to another location for a new jobsite. I had no problems whatsoever in my turnover of the property. Sharon recommended an excellent cleaning company in Austin that I contracted for services to clean the entire house and the carpets because I had to be at my new jobsite in a very short time frame. I had to leave so fast that I didn’t even have time to turn in the keys. Sharon and David were understanding and did not charge me a penalty fee for not turning in the keys. Also, the two times that the air conditioning broke down Sharon and David responded via email immediately and sent a man named Percy to fix the AC. He was there afterhours and on weekends. Percy is awesome! I would rent from Austin Rent A Home again, in a heartbeat should my work necessitate I move to the Austin area again.

I have been working with Austin-​Rent-​A-​Home for a few years. At first, I just picked a property managment company with lower service fee comparing with others. After a few years, we have been partners and friends. From my experience and comparing with other companies, I think ARH is a very professional one. They always consider the interests of both the owner and tenant. They provide a fair exchange between them. Every time, when tenant claims something needs to be repaired, they notice us with a very detailed work order, which makes me very clear with what happens in my property. The most important thing for property owner is the rent. It’s sometimes difficult to collect rent from the tenant by the owner him/​herself. In my memory, there’s never a delay with the rent. Every month, they deposit the rent in my account, which makes me very relax to be an owner. I want to say, without the help of ARH, I cannot go far in property investment. But with their help, it becomes not as difficult as you think. Nobody is perfect. But I can feel ARH is working very hard to get close to its best.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Austin Rent A Home. David and Sharon were quick to get me approved and into my place 2 years ago. They make an excellent team. David handled all of the paperwork swiftly and Sharon has helped me address any issue I’ve had in a timely manner (and with a smiling face too!!). When I showed up and the washer and dryer were missing from my place, they quickly found a solution that suited both parties fairly. When my renewal came up, they came up with a price that I felt was fair. When my toilets started running constantly, they sent someone out a couple of days later to fix all of them. Now that they have the website to pay on, it’s been even easier. I’m an apartment locator so I know how tough the rental market is. I also know how many variables go into running a property management company smoothly. I couldn’t be happier with the service I’ve received.

I’ve worked with David and his team at ARH for 5+ years as a property owner, and the experience has been very positive. As a Property Management company, ARH represents owner’s best interest, and at the same time provides best possible service to the tenants. It’s a fine balance act, but ARH has been doing a great job. David is specialized in Austin area, understands the market very well, and is very professional in following rules and regulations. And the management fee is very reasonable.
Been renters earlier in life, my wife and I always feel bad when tenants run into a problem with the house, whether it’s a broken water heater, thermostat stops working, or whatever. Sharon at ARH was always quick to notify us and most times she would send a repair person out right away because she knew we would be completely OK with that.
As a property owner, we have always worked hard with ARH to take care of the tenants. To the negative comments by some renters, I’m truly sorry that they had bad experiences. I believe most of the problems could have been avoided or resolved through better communication. I hope the new communication technologies will help in that regard.

Isn’t it odd that the only review is from the owner of the company himself? Upon first contact with David the experience was ok… his assistant, Sharon, is awesome and I believe the life blood of David’s business. We moved from CA to Austin last year into a home offered by austinrentahome. We were required to pay a double deposit, totalling $ 3500, because we were ”new” to TX. The home was supposed to have been ”deep” cleaned… it was not! I had to pay out of pocket to clean stained carpets, filthy appliances and disgustingly dirty windows. No reimbursement as he said the owners were not dropping another dime into the property. I should have ran at this point. We were offered a $ 100 rent discount for the last 3 months of our lease so they could show the house up for sale… yay, right? Wrong! The scheduled showings were at times we said were not convenient and when an offer was received we were asked to vacate within 2 weeks! We obliged and were promised a move out incentive… we got nothing and now are being ignored. David, in my opinion, is a shady business man who will say what you want to hear, while never looking you in the eye, and do what ever it takes to line his pockets… DO NOT TRUST HIM!

Horrible properties high rent in the ghetto. David will lie to get you to sign then say it’s not his problem. Figures he is the only one to comment and give 5 stars on his own business. We point blank asked if it was a nice neighborhood since we have 2 young daughters, they said it was. Every night we couldn’t go to sleep because of excessive music, fighting in the street, drug dealers doing their shot outside the house. Even when you call the cops they wouldn’t come out if at all for hours. when it came time to move before we were out he was hassling us to move out and taking people through the house without permission or us there. Don’t try it this place isn’t worth your time if day unless your a dealer.
