Our dance studio has been voted #1 place to learn dance for 6 years by Austin Family Magazine! We teach movement from the inside out, with creative excellence at the heart of our work. Yoga and dance communicate to us on deep levels that bring us to a clearer understanding of who we truly are as individuals. We wish to ignite a passion for dance and yoga that empowers each student to meet their potential in all aspects of their lives as they embrace their true selves.

We are Austin’s most popular dance studio for dance classes since 2000!

We offer a variety of different types of dance such as Storybook Ballet for Preschool & Primary ages, Contemporary Modern, Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop, Drill Team Prep, Musical Theatre, Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Flow Yoga. We facilitate Performance Teams that are available for students wishing to experience pre-​professional study in dance, as well as three performance opportunities throughout the year.

Business Owner

Michelle Denny, B.A., early childhood education, is the founder of Avery Ranch Dance & Yoga as well as Dance Discovery and the Central Dance Theatre. She has over 30 years of dance training and has been teaching dance for 24 years. Michelle developed the Storytime Dance Curriculum used by instructors of young children to captivate the creative spirit of young dancers in order to develop dance technique. This foundation provides for strong, versatile dancers who not only develop precise dance technique, but also hold on to their ability to dance from the inside out. The aim is to preserve young dancers’ passion throughout their technical training.

Cute, clean studios here. My daughter had her 4th birthday party here and all of the kids enjoyed it. They brought out dress up clothes for the girls and the instructor was great with so many young kids.

We have been going to Avery Ranch Dance and Yoga for 3 years now. The teachers are just encouraging and supportive, and really seem to nurture each child. The story-​themed exercises really help the children have imaginative fun while dancing. My younger daughter struggled a little with a teacher change, and after talking to the front office staff, the owner called me and really helped us come up with a good plan. I was impressed by such a large dance studio having an owner who took that much time and care for one student, and I love watching my youngest daughter getting better and more independent each week. I have sat in one several classes, and her teacher (Jillian) is just amazing at sensing what each child needs and giving each child personal attention throughly the class.

My 14-​year-​old daughter has been taking lessons here for more than three years now. The instruction is superb, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. They work really hard to meet her dance — and schedule — requirements. We truly feel like this is our dance «family».

I’m so torn what to say about this place. The dance teachers themselves are really sweet, but I don’t feel like my girls really learned much dance technique. From the many different answers I got on asking about the performance team for the girls, it seems like the kids are preselected and there is no open tryout or even information put out. I asked a few different people and got several different answers. I got the feeling it was a secret that didn’t want out. This place is highly disorganized. The recitals were more difficult than our previous ones to navigate, and many people made complaints about not knowing what was going on during the rehearsals. It’s also incredibly crowded in the waiting room. You’re allowed to leave, but if the classes overlap like my girls’ did that really isn’t an option and it feels like a sardine can in there. I wouldn’t say it’s terrible, but it’s nothing special that’s for sure. I’m not sure if we will return for the Fall 2015 – 2016 year.

My 2 year old daughter took an evening dance class here. Can’t tell if she really enjoys it or not. I’ll try again when she’s older. Glad this place is close by. Very clean.

We love the Avery Ranch girls! Been a student for almost two seasons and love every minute of it. My daughter attends multiple different styles of dance here and loves all of her teachers. They do a good job keeping her involved and challenged. The manager works very hard at knowing each child and parent. She really wants to please, treating everyone equally and with respect even if she doesn’t receive it in return. We will be here as long as my daughter wants to dance! A++

My 4-​year-​old daughter just went to a summer camp there. It was awesome. It was a nice mix between dance («story time» ballet –which means they tell a story to introduce and repeat the ballet skills– and jazz), yoga and craft (as they made/​decorate their costumes for the end of camp performance). They also had snack breaks outdoors. My daughter didn’t tell me many details, but I could see she really enjoyed it!
