Honest and professional outfit here. Volvo driver for six years now, and these are the best mechanics I’ve dealt with. There have been odd occasions where I needed repairs and my car couldn’t get to Capital-​V. Every time, I was reminded of how much I appreciate these guys. They’ve earned themselves a loyal customer.

These guys are awesome. I’ve had our A/​C fixed there and they didn’t quote me the expensive route (replacing the whole compressor) that the dealership would have done for sure. I’ve now started taking our Volvo there for oil changes and they truly check the whole vehicle… they fixed a some minor things with no charge without me telling them to look at them. I’ve definitely found a place to take our Volvo from here on out. Keep the good job guys!

Robert and the guys that work for him are so amazing. My Volvo XC90 is my baby and as a student with a full time job she is my life. Anytime I have had an issue or something has come up they have fit me in no matter how busy right away, I always get a phone call updating me and letting me know. I could never thank these guys enough, especially with my husband being in the oilfield they understand I can’t be without my vehicle. Awesome, honest, upfront people Robert and his shop will definitely be on my Christmas list this year. If you own a Volvo without a doubt you should never take it anywhere except capital v connection!

I was given a recommendation for my 2000 s70 Volvo by a friend. They have been nothing but helpful to me. I’m a female and when it comes to car troubles I’m kinda lost but these people made it so much easier for me. I highly recommend Capital V!

If you own a Volvo, from any era, this should be your one and only repair shop in Austin. I have a 1986 240DL and Robert and staff have kept it running for many years. They are completely trustworthy, up front and honest, and will never try to sell you or charge you for anything you don’t need. Since they work exclusively on Volvos, they are in the know about where to get the best parts, etc. It is only because of them my old car keeps on going, and going, and I don’t have a car payment. If you have a breakdown, they will let you drop it off at night and leave the keys in the door. They even have a towing service that won’t charge you until you get your bill.

I’ve had my 1999 V70 in there quite a few times over the past years. I’ve had them change out a timing belt, radiator, door locks, engine mounts and other random things. Usually I call and get an appointment within a few days. The guys are always nice!
The only criticism I can give is that they could call with a status update sooner. Almost every time I’ve taken my car I’ve dropped it off the night before and used their drop box. By 2pm the next day I’ve yet to hear from them and call. This has happened three different times. Every time they said ‘we were just about to call you’. I can see they are busy but getting an update (even one to say they are backed up) makes the stress of not having your car more manageable.

Another repair shop told me I needed new brakes. I decided I wanted to use a Volvo specialist. Went here, he refused to replace the breaks because they were not worn out yet.
I drive from Lago Vista to get there, and it’s worth it.

Anyone who drives a foreign car knows you just can’t let anyone work on them. Robert and his team are very knowledgeable with competitive pricing.

While on a cross country road trip our 1992 Volvo 240’s check engine light went on. Dropped it off at 11pm and it was ready to go at 2:30pm the next day, with no notice and no appt. Robert had the old diagnostic tool needed for our car (which was hard to find elsewhere!) and made the repair at a reasonable cost. He was very affable and helpful! Very good experience. Thank you!

Where do I begin… I found Robert at Capital V-​Connection and their rave reviews after searching for an alternative to servicing my 2015 XC60 at the Volvo dealership. Hate is a strong word… I strongly dislike Roger Beasley Volvo and was driving my baby down to San Antonio to have it serviced there instead. When my car hit 7500 mi and needed an oil change before the 10K free service, boy was I happy to find Robert!
On Dec. 17^th, I scheduled for the next available appointment online which wasn’t until Dec. 29^th but I trusted it would be worth the wait. Not 5 minutes after I submitted the inquiry, I got a call from Robert saying he could get me in and out the very next day, ¹²⁄₁₈ — anytime that worked for me! Awesome blossom. We had a great conversation and I hung up feeling relieved that I had found such a true-​blue professional who is passionate about what he does.
Well the relief didn’t end there — they did an amazing job and I was in and out of there in two shakes of a lion’s tail. I even got recommendations for insurance and service for my ’57 T-​Bird (when you meet people like this, you know you can trust their advice!).
I can’t wait to come back, even to just hang out with these cool dudes! Awesome service, good pricing and one very happy customer!!! If I could give ‘em 10 stars, I would.

We have two Volvos– a 2002 S80 and a 2004 XC90. We bought the XC90 in part because of Capital V. (If you have a good mechanic you trust who only fixes Volvos, you might as well get another Volvo, right???)
We’ve been taking our cars to Robert and team for over two years, for repairs large and small. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve brought the car in for something and Robert has charged me only parts, or sometimes fixed the problem at no cost. We had 2 or 3 of these before any big repairs, and I was almost relieved to finally be able to pay these people something when we had the AC fan go out.
Prices are always fair, service is quick, they are super professional and nice people. I don’t dread getting my car fixed or feel like they’re ever trying to pull one over for me. If Robert says it needs it, I get it. Really highly recommended.

I can’t say enough good things about Robert and his staff! I had taken my 2001 Volvo S80 to a large shop on South Lamar. Two weeks later and $ 2500 spent, the original shop still had not fixed the problem and the car died. I immediately had it towed to Capital V Connection.
Robert is a wonderful listener and after looking at my car, he reviewed the necessary changes that needed to happen. Two weeks later, my car died again but from a different problem. I towed it back to Robert’s shop and he diagnosed the problem and had it fixed while I was out of town. Robert took it on a test drive to make sure all was okay and the front tire got a flat while he was driving. He replaced it with his own Volvo tire which he let me borrow until I could get new tires put on my car.
Since then, my car has had a couple message lights pop up and Robert is always so good about being able to clear error codes and tell me what issues might be lurking on the horizon. He is fair and always pleasant to deal with. Robert is the interface between the shop and the public and even though he is busy, he always has time to be kind and courteous.
The only regret that i have is that I did not find him earlier! He has restored my faith in mechanics.

Robert and his staff are amazing. I have a 2006 Volvo XC90 and they pamper us both. Fair and competitive pricing and always AWESOME customer service are the reasons I will continue to drive south for my service work! LOVE THEM!

To echo other’s sentiment… Volvo owners are no strangers to repair shops. I am one of those.
Last year my ignition switch went out on my wedding day (ugh) and Robert arranged for my car to get towed into the shop. He fixed it quickly and the price is fair
Fast forward to this year, another issue came up and again Robert and the guys to the rescue.
I feel comfortable with the service and prices. They are great!

I have gone here several times now and I love the way I am treated: fairly. I know every time I bring my Volvo S60 T that I’ll get great service. They have repaired my timing belt and they have done some minor engine repairs. I like knowing that I’m being dealt with honestly. Besides, what other mechanic has 1 year warranty on all parts and LABOR?

I have a 2006 Volvo XC90 with over 130,000 miles on it, and, as you fellow Volvo connoisseurs can attest, a Volvo needs a lot of love and care — so you really need a reliable, honest mechanic that you trust.
Robert and his crew at Capital V-​Connection have treated me like royalty. It started out small — a little recharge for the A/​C here, a new light bulb there — but the customer service was first class. So, now I’ve been back for major work, and they have continued to exceed my expectations.
We’re talking big time work, people — new brakes and rotors, new timing belt and water pump, new A/​C condenser, etc. Their prices are fair and competitive, and their work is exceptional — and fast.
Yes, I have invested a lot in my XC90 — but don’t judge me – I am deeply in love with this Volvo, and I am convinced that it loves me, too.

Soooo about me; I’m a girl. Moved home to TX after 10 years in NYC, sans car. Soooo I’m not really car-​brilliant. I am, however, outspoken and fairly quick to flip out if I think someone is trying to pull a fast one on me. These guys fix stuff when they say they will, they explain what’s gong on and TWICE now they have had a, «calm down this is easy» response that cost a fraction of what the geniuses at Pep Boys said. Be smarter than me, skip Pep Boys and bring your Volvo-​baby directly to these guys every time.
I heart these guys — and the work they’ve done on my car (she’s 16 years old now so there’s plenty to be kept up) for the past year and a half. If you own a Volvo and it is acting wonky, bring it in to these guys.

I don’t write reviews unless I’m on either end of the satisfied spectrum. In this case I’m very satisfied.
I took my 2000 S70 T5 in for an intermittent brake problem. It was very infrequent, but when you need your brakes and you don’t have them it’s pretty unsettling. Plus my passenger door would not open from the inside, which is kind of creepy when you go on dates.
I told them to go ahead and replace the master cylinder if needed, but they said they had rather be sure first. They kept it for 1 week trying to reproduce the problem, finally did and determined it just needed a brake flush, fixed my door and barely charged me anything. They just earned a repeat customer. Thanks Capital-​V!

This place saved me from making a giant mistake.

I took a Volvo here on a test drive to have a buyer’s check done on it. They took about 45 minutes to check the entire vehicle, and came back with a thorough report telling me everything that was wrong with it and trust me it was an extensive list.
The best part was they only charged me $ 45 for the report, which was well worth what it saved me had I bought the car.
If I ever own a Volvo this will be the ONLY place I will take it, and if you own a Volvo this SHOULD be the ONLY place you take your car.

Robert, Chris and the rest of the «Cap V» team are true Volvo specialist professionals and the only mechanics allowed to touch my Volvos period.
They have always gone above and beyond to help my wife and I have awesome running rides. Not only that, but Robert leads by example with an honest personable kindness that I have never seen from the auto service/​repair industry… or any other service industry for that matter.
I’ve built a nice history with these guys over the years starting first with our lifesaving 2002 V70 2.4T (wrecked RIP), iPd modded 1990 240 Wagon (wrecked RIP), and our current 1998 V70 T5 & 2006 V70 2.5T.
I am always impressed and amazed at their work and the things that these guys do that ends up on the invoice at $ 0. They always notice the little things and take care of my car and my family. If you own a Volvo and live in Austin you are doing yourself a huge disservice by going anywhere else.
