Champion Performance Physical Therapy is designed for athletes and athletic minded individuals. We focus on functional movement to produce strong, fast, agile and healthy athletes of all ages and skill levels.

History

Established in 2001.

Champion Performance Physical Therapy, CPPT, was founded by Christie Powell, «CP», 14 years ago on a picnic table at the Town & Country soccer complex here in Austin, TX.

In 2009, Murph Halasz joined CP. Murph was an Indiana University swim team Captain and school record holder. He received his Physical Therapy degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Shannon Russell joined CPPT after graduating from Texas State Physical Therapy school in 2014. An Austin native, Shannon was a D1 volleyball starter at the University of Virginia .

All three therapists have first hand experience with physical therapy and strive to help others overcome their setbacks. CPPT provides athletes with a personalized approach to rehabilitation that incorporates evolving and evidence based methods of physical therapy.

Formerly known as CATZ Physical Therapy, we have recently rebranded to bring you the best in the field at multiple locations as Champion Performance Physical Therapy.

Meet the Manager

Murph H.

Manager

Murph was an NCAA All-​American swimmer and graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Biochemistry and a minor in Health and Applied Science/​Family studies. He received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University and has been practicing Physical Therapy in Austin since 2009. He specializes in repetitive use injuries from sports like running or swimming, adolescents and returning athletes to competition.

Murph spent his collegiate career swimming and has coached the Steiner Stars Blue team since 2010. He conquered the Arizona Ironman in 2012, is the captain of a Co-​ed Ultimate team in Austin and on days that are windy, you can find him kite surfing on Lake Belton.
