We contacted Genie after reading the reviews on Unilocal,so we knew she was going to be great. BUT, she still blew us away at our consultation. From the homework to the interview when she first arrives0, you can tell she really knows colors and how to match them your taste. My husband and I like opposite colors and she somehow put a palette together that we both really like. And, at the end, she puts the swatches in a sleeve so you can bring it to the paint store or hand it to your painter. Before you do any painting in your house, call Genie. She is amazing!

We are so pleased with our experience with Genie last week. My husband and I met with her to consult on exterior house colors. Genie is organized, professional, and excellent at what she does. We felt comfortable with her and knew right away that she knows her colors! Our architect easily approved her choices and we can’t wait to see the finished house in a few months. Genie is wonderful. We worked with her as first time homeowners in December last year.
We immediately felt comfortable when she took the time to get to know us, learn our style and what we liked. After a walk through, she patiently sat in the rubble of our kitchen amidst all the noise and dust (we had a lot of work done) and did her thing. She then walked us through with color choices for each room. We discussed them in the different light of each room and chose from her recommended short list. She also had some additional color and design tips for the built-​in cabinets and bathroom vanity.
Her expertise is based on experience and just a natural artistic eye. We are really happy with the colors and really appreciated she kept our style and interests at heart!

We just used Color Genie for our new house and her services were a great investment! I am so glad my husband found her before we had our entire house repainted. She knew our style and color palette better than we were able to verbally communicate. I have used Color Genie on two big personal projects, a frame bungalow in central Austin and a large house in northwest Austin, and a real estate client’s exterior paint project. I trust her input implicitly. I tend to like lots of color and the first few times with Genie I fretted that the colors we were selecting wouldn’t be bright enough. I am SO glad I trusted her judgment. The colors are PERFECT. I get so many compliments on my home, and my client was thrilled with the results of his consult. The Color Genie is great for small projects but especially if you have big projects that are going to cost a lot, the money spent to have her help working out the colors is unbelievably valuable. She is also fun!

Genie is awesome. I had recently purchased a house that is a new construction and wanted to get rid of the «builder beige» to make the place my own. Despite being a guy, I’d like to think that I’m decent at interior decorating. However, I felt completely overwhelmed when it came to picking paint colors for the whole house. So I decided to hire a pro to help me. Genie came over with a couple large binders of color swatches. First we talked about what kind of feel I’d like to create, what colors I like, and what furnitures and artworks I already have. Then Genie goes into her «zone» and starts picking through the color swatches. After maybe half an hour or so, she came up with several choices for each areas of the house. We then went over each area, putting color swatches against the wall and viewing it under natural and artificial lighting. I feel like I’m very involved in making the color choices, and Genie is guiding me along. Eventually after all of the colors are picked, Genie creates a color book, with a small paint swatch that is labelled for the area it’s for. This made it very easy for the painters to follow later. I then had painters come in and painted the whole house, which turned out awesome. She’s a joy to work with and I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone who needs color advice!

Genie is fantastic to work with. We have now used her for two different projects. She is extremely reasonable in price and, well, in temperament! She helped us with our exterior colors-​no easy feat and we did what she suggested and love it! Recently, she came over to help us with what we wanted-​bold bathroom colors. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone!

I’d already been on a long search for the perfect color purple for my friend’s bedroom, so when it came time to choose colors for my own home, I knew that I needed help. Enter Color Genie. For a very reasonable price, Genie spent a couple of hours helping me choose a set of colors for my living room, dining room and kitchen. She gave me two options when I couldn’t decide how dark I wanted to go with grey. She was patient, fun and she really listened to understand my taste. She was my constant email correspondent as i moved toward actually getting the house painted, giving me advice and referrals. Now, the painting is done, the art is up, the rug is down and the house looks great. I highly recommend Genie.

We use Genie all the time for our customers and not only do they love her but we do too. She has a knack for colors and we always like seeing her color schemes come together at the end. Makes color selection easy!

We loved working with Genie. She takes color consultant work very seriously. We are delighted with the choices. Genie helped us select exterior colors and also helped us with a pallette of colors for our living area. She left nice little samples, clearly marked. Choosing colors takes a good bit of time. This took 2 hours, but it was worth it. She is fun to work with, too. I liked the approach. She keyed the exterior off of grout and stone. She keyed the interior off of things we liked such as art and fabrics. It was neat to watch her work. I recommend her. I think she understands a lot about the science behind color choice. Also, the advice of a trusted expert minimizes the clash that might otherwise arise from multiple novice opinions.
