Here’s a very professional, comfortable, and friendly group. I like the way Dr. O’Dell treats me and my hygienist is super! Only once have I had to wait very long, and ordinarily I’m seen at my appointment time. I’ve seen several periodontists in various cities over the years, and Dr. O’Dell is about the best.

Doctor O’Dell is an expert in his field. My first visit with him was very pleasant and he was very informative about the gum procedure I needed to receive. He even showed an animated video highlighting what they would do. I felt confident and assured that Dr. O’Dell and his staff would take care of me.
I made the appointment for several months later, and was given reminders via email about my appointment. When I had to change the operation time a month or so prior to the original date, the receptionist was very accommodating.
The nurse went through all the necessary paperwork and left me complete pre-​and post-​operative instructions that were clear and easy to follow.
The receptionist also gave my husband a copy when he went to make payment by check. They give a small discount for paying two weeks in advance by check or cash, which is quite generous if you’re having a large procedure/​operation done.
The day of the surgery, we came at 6:50 am and everyone was already there, ready to receive us at 7. I went in a little early, and they took me to one of their rooms that had been prepped for the operation. One of the nurses in the room gave me a blanket so I wouldn’t get cold (yes, it’s very cold in their patient rooms). Dr. O’Dell started on an IV right away. Next thing I know, I’m being taken in a wheelchair to my husband’s car. No pain, no memory, and barely conscious still. It was the best surgical experience of my life.
By the way, I saw him at his San Marcos clinic off 400 San Antonio Drive near downtown San Marcos. It’s a very clean facility.
