David McDavid Acura of Austin

I got my control arms and vehicle aligned at another unaffiliated shop in San Antonio. After a couple of days of getting my vehicle back, I noticed a grinding noise when I would make sharp left turns. I took my vehicle to David McDavid to get a diagnostic. I was thinking the worst but it turns out it was just a loose hose that they were able to reattach. Darius even waived the diagnostic fee and had me on my way in no time. Great and very professional customer service!

I bought my TL in September 2013, and there’s never been a question as to who is going to service it. Early on, I had some transmission problems that proved to be a bear to diagnose, but they stayed on it and eventually got to root cause (the Service Manager Michelle got personally involved with this one).
Scheduled maintenance… couldn’t be easier. My Service Advisor Luis is great to work with (he’s been taking care of a good friend of mine for years… he’s driving his 3^rd Acura now).
I know, I could save a few bucks by not going to the dealer. And when the car is 10 years old with 150,000 miles on it I might start doing that (I really keep my vehicles that long). But for now, I trust McDavid to have the technical knowledge/​skills, the proper diagnostic tools, and (for me most importantly) the right parts.

Just purchased rdx, knowledgeable salesman (Luis) and excellent follow through. Have not used the services department yet but expect the same high quality of service.

I bought my TSX here in 2012 and I just traded it in for an MDX. Love my Acura! Absolutely love the service at David McDavid! The Sales staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and humorous! Their service department always provides excellent service. They have a nice waiting area where I normally do some work while waiting on my car.
I’ve trusted them with all my Acura’s needs since 2012, and wouldn’t go anywhere else!

They did a quick job of alligning and changing the oil on my ’08 TL.

They were running a special on car detail and headlight restoration. We brought in our Honda Odyssey and got the same discounted offer as for a regular sedan!

I went to David McDavid for the first time yesterday because of an airbag recall notification that I received. They booked me in the same day and I received excellent customer service from the phone call to book the appointment to the time I drove off the lot. Service Writer, Michelle, was very kind, informative and professional. I was expecting that they needed to look over the car and order a part and I would have to come back, but I lucked out and it was fixed on the spot and I was out of there in no time. The waiting room is nice and comfortable with a big TV, Wifi, fresh-​baked cookies and complimentary drinks while you wait. I was able to work effortlessly while waiting for my car.
When they told me my car was done, I was expecting to go back to the service desk and get the 411 on everything that my car may need now or in the future, but she simply said it was fixed, handed me my keys and wished me a Happy Thanksgiving! I was so surprised. I said, «That’s it? I just leave now?» She smiled and said, «That’s it. We replaced the part and you’re ready to go!» Wow! Then I go to my car to find that it was washed and vacuumed — EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will be going to David McDavid from now on; I can assure you that!

We have bought 4 of our last 5 cars from this dealership and the reason is because we love the service we get from Luis and his team. The entire organization is amazing — but the service is above par. It is so much like having a family mechanic… someone you trust to always do the right thing for you. They are always on time, always fair with cost and never make you feel anything but taken care of. Highly recommend them from sale to service!

Tony helped us look at a used Honda Civic and was very knowledgeable and helpful. This is my first car-​buying experience, and I was put at ease knowing that Tony obviously takes a lot of pride in his place of business and product.

Acura MDX, 2013, 2^nd or 3^rd time I’ve used McDavids to service. Very satisfied.

I’ve been coming to this dealership for over 10 years and find them to be very ethical and straight-​forward on what needs to be done to a car. They typically don’t over-​sell services, and if you ask them why, they are quick to point out, the pros and cons.
While this is my second Acura being serviced here, I often bring my wife’s Honda Pilot for stuff like oil changes and tire changes. Believe it or not, they are often less pricier than First Texas Honda or very comparable.

I love this place… Service and sales… They are awesome! The staff in the service dept are awesome. They dont give you the run around and I totally trust my mechanic and the service advisor in this dealership! Thank you Luis and Jose for everything!

Took my car in for a problem with my battery and the gear box. I explained that I’ve taken my car in to another dealership with the same problem and they did not find anything wrong with it. While they didnt actually do any work because i ended up going to the original dealership. The staff was still very nice and helpful. The waiting area is nice! Stocked with drinks, snacks and super comfy chairs.
Ill be back for an oil change. and stay for the waiting area.

Luis — the service consultant is so personable and always takes care of me with a smile :) When I am in the market for a new car, I am likely to buy from this dealership mainly because of their service dept.

The GM called me back and apologized offering a full refund on the maintenance service package. This was above and beyond from what I was expecting, kudos to acura for owning up and taking responsibility. This is the Acura I remember, thank you again :)

I have been with acura for over 15 years and I am now on my fourth acura. I was sold a 2014 fully loaded SHA mdx and then Myron sold me the vehicle warranty and standard service package telling me I would not have to worry about paying anything until the contract was expired. Well brought my car in for standard service and now they are charging me for a transmission fluid change from a standard service 2 months after I purchased the car and Myron telling me I wouldn’t have to pay for anything until my vehicle and standard service package expired. I will never buy an acura again.

The team at David McDavid did it again! When looking at options on the new Acuras both Alex and Sean were very polite, listened to what I wanted and quickly delivered on best options for me! I will say out of all my car buying experiences these guys go above and beyond and don’t play games… just good honest people.
This is the 2^nd car I bought from David McDavid and each time was only looking at Acura for a comparison to other cars I was looking at.
This review wouldn’t be complete without noting how well the paperwork went with Myron and efficient he was with getting us on the road in our new Acura!!!

got to the point of pricing and trade. Didn’t take forever.
Brandon thoroughly explained plus and minus of different packages available. Asked us the right questions. Enabled us to make decision on what we wanted.

Wow — just observed/​overheard a salesman browbeat a young woman of apparent Middle Eastern origin. After the high-​pressure sales pitch, when she asked to take a photo of the quote, she was told in the most snarky of tones «No — and I don’t think I’m going to sell you a car today». She was visibly upset, asked to the see the manager. But after a few moments with the manager in his office out of sight, she left — still visibly upset.
I won’t be buying a car there — wish there was «O» star category. Even IF she was trying to shop the price around (or maybe she wanted to share with a spouse or family member?), there’s no call for that in the internet price-​shopping age…
There are too many competitors to work with someone like that… If my wife really wants an Acura badly, there’s always San Antonio

In our hunt to find our next SUV, we stopped here to test out the MDX. We did a test drive and instantly loved it! Our salesman was really great with knowledge on the model, but when it came down to talk price, he told me the price of the car was the sticker price… really? When I saw a dealer’s pre-​owned car I also liked, again I asked him how much… he told me about $ 49k…I wanted to know HOW MUCH, I was trying to buy a car! Was he not taking me seriously because I’m a female? Its like I found a salesman who didn’t want to sell a car!
No problem, I drove a littler further to Sterling Acura and found someone who wanted to sell me my MDX.
