Not only does this company use deceit and deception to defraud customers such as charging everyone for ‘monthly interactive’ a service that is not needed or wanted to have your alarm system monitored., they have no problems charging the elderly for that service knowing they have no smart devices to even utilize it. Ethics, integrity, and competency. You will find none of these attributes here… Look the last 5 star review came from an employee. I mean seriously.

John Dyess takes his business very seriously and cares about each and every client he has. I would give him more stars if I could.

John Dyess took care of my issues personally and installed a GSM system for me. He stands by his company and made things right. Although he has 1000s of customers in the Austin area, he took time to meet with an unhappy customer and solve the issues. Kudos.

This is not only the worst alarm company but has to be the worst company in existence. When I built my house a year ago, I used Dyezz to install the alarm. Was never installed properly. Was never monitored properly, even though I paid for monthly monitoring. When I contacted the company, it was never their fault that the equipment wasn’t working or that they didn’t call when the alarm went off. They had a million excuses. The owner offered us several freebies to smooth over the situation, which really didn’t matter if the equipment didn’t work or wasn’t being monitored correctly. I pay for monthly monitoring. The alarm went off at 6:11 this morning. No one ever called me to see if I needed help or the police. I thought that is what I paid the monthly monitoring service for. I finally sent an e-​mail to the owner. Someone from installation called to tell me that their office did not receive an alarm signal from me. I said, that’s funny because your equipment generated an e-​mail to me telling me that my alarm had been set off — proceed with caution. It’s hard to believe that your «equipment» didn’t receive an alarm notification from me but it generated an e-​mail to me. He stated that was probably a problem with my equipment and they would have to send a service man out to charge me to find out the problem.
About 10 minutes later they called me back to tell me that they found the alarm notification in their computer log but their general rule in responding to an home alarm going off is… if an alarm code is put into the home alarm system to turn off the siren before let’s say one minute, they don’t bother to call you. WHAT! What if I was being forced… what if someone broke in as was lucky and figured out the code… I have never heard of such a thing!!! I have been with other alarm companies in other states and they ALWAYS call you immediately when your alarm goes off to see if you are ok or need anything. Dyezz waits a minute or so… do you realize how much can happen in a minute… people can break in, be surprised you are home and kill you in that time… yet, Dyezz doesn’t bother to call and check with the alarm going off because it hasn’t been a minute or so yet!
WHAT IS THE POINT OF PAYING TO MONITOR IF DYEZZ DOESN’T EVEN CALL YOU WHEN YOUR ALARM GOES OFF UNTIL THEY DECIDE IT IS TIME TO.
When I stated that the contract said my home was monitored ²⁴⁄₇ and there was no time delay stated, of course their only answer was, this is how everyone does it. NO IT ISN’T. So, if you use Dyezz, you will be paying another company again to install all new equipment if you want a working, monitored alarm. If you are a burglar, if the house has a sign that it is monitored by Dyezz, you have at least a minute to get in, get what you want and get out!

It’s going on two months now, and I don’t know how much longer I can handle this. We initially contracted them to install security cameras around our house and to put in an alarm system. We also opted for some upgraded equipment like the thermostat, door locks, and garage door opener we could control with our phones.
I’ll start with the cameras. Despite having very clear pictures of where the cameras were supposed to be installed, they were put up wrong, and I’m talking like on the other side of the garage wrong, not just a few feet to the left of where I wanted. They fixed this, but then I was left with holes drilled in the eaves of my house that they promised they would fix. «Oh, we’ve got a guy that works on million dollar homes. Don’t worry. We’ll get you taken care of,» is what I was told. Nothing has been done. Nothing has been scheduled. I’ve called multiple times only to be passed off to a different person each time because whoever was handling it before «is no longer in that position.»
Then there is the garage door sensor. We were told we could get the integrated system just like we have with the thermostats. After multiple service calls, we were finally told that our garage door opener isn’t compatible, that the original guy to tell us that should have known that and not told us it was an option. This is, of course, after we have already paid for it. They told us they’d make it right, give us a discount on our monthly bill. We still haven’t seen that.
I should have known after my original experience with them… After originally sending a salesman out that told us we could easily install a camera in our young childrens’ room, they sent another out who said that was incorrect. He told me that it would have been obvious had he gone into the attic and then took one look at me (and my cane), and said, «and obviously you can’t go up there.» I’m sorry, but who are you to know what I can and can’t do with my disability?
It has been two months with no resolution. I was waiting to review, holding out hope that they would make this right, perhaps fix the holes that are all over my eaves that they just slapped tacky plates over like they promised. Maybe they would reduce my bill the promised amount since I am paying for a garage door sensor I do not currently have. After calling (again) two weeks ago and last week again, I’m afraid I’m about to give up.
***Update***About two weeks after I wrote this and after multiple calls (Dyezz: «Oh, our guy hasn’t contacted you?), I finally got the holes in my eaves fixed. For a man that «works on million dollar homes,» his work leaves something to be desired, as do his business practices. He does not return calls, show up when he says he will, etc. He expected me to have the paint for the exterior of the house and looked very put out when I explained I didn’t have any. In the end, the holes were fixed, but it’s a shoddy job at best. I’m just done. I can’t handle the stress of dealing with it all anymore – the multiple calls and appointments. They’ve finally worn me down. Oh, but they did reduce my monthly bill by $ 8 once I brought it to their attention since I never received the garage door openers, so there is that.

I have used this company for a while, I have never complained about it. Their monthly payment is very affordable but their service call is expensive. Their customer service is not so great either. I have asked for the quote for the glass sensor but I have never heard from them. I had a new security guy came by and checked out my system. He noticed that the window sensors in my master bathroom weren’t active?! Really?! Oh, one more thing. A Dyezz guy tried to come by to fix my system after I cancelled the service. Weird! I am glad I switched, I’m done with Dyezz!

Only reason they even have two is for how they did the original intercom installation where I work. But they have slowly gotten worse and worse, and have hit rock bottom now. We are simply adding one intercom to our existing system they installed, and it has been over 2 months. Took them forever to get us scheduled. They were supposed to come last week, then canceled a few days before hand ‘do to an emergency’. So a week later, supposed to be here between 8 and 10. No one shows up, no one calls. I call at 11, oh yeah I meant to call you, but the part we got is wrong. OK, so they say they are doing their best and will call later that day. Again, no call. I email them back, and don’t hear back. So I call and email today, elft messages, and again I hear nothing. What in the world? We were looking at installing cameras throughout our work using them, but apparently we will be using someone else. I hope they can at least get this ONE INTERCOM installed.

I’ve done business with these guys for at least 10 years. There have been some down times, and lots of up times. What I can say for certain is that John Dyess is one of the most determined business owners I’ve ever met. Very dedicated to running the business like it’s the top security company in Texas, and as far as I’m concerned, it is.

Everything is top down. The owner is the most informed person regarding what he does and truly cares about his customers. A big heart. You can’t buy character you know? And it helps when you see the same people there two years later.

I recently built a new home and when it came to looking at alarm systems, I had no doubt that I wanted to use Dyezz Surveillance. They definitely did not disappoint. From talking to them about my options for security, to the installation, and even the follow up, their service is nothing but top notch. When I had questions, they were knowledgeable and responded to me quickly. I highly recommend this local company over any of the national ones out there.

The one that sells you things you don’t need from people you don’t know — and they don’t know, either!
Installation of our new system took approximately one full day, and during that time they not only removed the «other» company’s useless hardware, but they made sure that the new equipment they installed was discretely placed, and thoroughly tested. They left no stone unturned.

Back when I was a brand new, first-​time homeowner I was naively suckered into a 5 year nightmare contract from hell by one of the big national players in this industry.
5 years have passed!
Dyezz Surveillance just completed their installation of new equipment at my house yesterday, on a month-​to-​month contract of course, and I am blown away by their customer service. As the owner of a small business, I am always reinforcing how important customer service is to my guys, and every individual I have encountered through my Dyezz experience so far could come to work for me tomorrow.
Ian, the installer, was friendly, clean-​cut, and knowledgable. I had a question later that night about the system at about 8pm. I called expecting to leave him a voicemail and receive an answer the next day. He picked up, walked me through my questions and even independently researched some more thorough answers for me and called back a few minutes later with that knowledge.
Installation was ~24 hours ago, and I have already had two other Dyezz employees check in with me to make sure my experience was a smooth one.
I look forward to being a Dyezz customer for years to come!

We were looking for a local company and found Dyezz. They installed our alarm system for our home very quickly. The installation was great and they did an excellent job. They have great customer service and friendly employees. Keeping our business local is very important to us and glad we found Dyezz to keep our home safe. I work at a consignment store in Austin — Next To New — and lately we’ve had some problems with vandalism, broken glass, tagging etc and Dyezz recently installed an outdoor security system for us. The two guys that came out were very courteous, professional and FAST! Even with our store open and staff and customer’s to work around, they had a total of 5 cameras set up and running in a day.
I would certainly recommend anyone to use these guys.

We had our video camera system upgraded by Dyezz back in 2011, and they did an excellent job, especially on the followup work, troubleshooting some quirks and camera power issues. Being able to remotely monitor our in-​pub cameras from my iPhone, iPad or computer is a real benefit.
Our alarm monitoring company went bankrupt a few years back, and was acquired by another firm, but we haven’t really upgraded anything in that regard in 13 years. One email to Dyezz and I got two quick estimates, one for simply replacing the exiting alarm panel (using all existing sensors) and another for a cellular communication –equipped, remotely controllable and mobile device enabled version.
The estimates were fair and accurate, and credited us with free installation as a longtime customer, a nice touch which we did not ask for. We went with the advanced technology upgrade, and decided additionally to upgrade our two oldest cameras, which pre-​dated the work that Dyezz did back in 2011. All the work was done in a few hours while we were closed, and again, the followup after the sale was efficient and appreciated.
We have a much more advanced alarm system, mobile device alarm control and reporting, better camera coverage and monthly monitoring that costs about the same as the old service, but is now with an established and stable local company.
Dyezz Surveillance is highly recommended. Still.

Outstanding service and the price is significantly lower than other monitoring companies. We bought our wired system through another company and they were able to easily switch over to their service using the previously existing system. They offer a great wireless system option which works with smart devices. You can manage from anywhere with wi-​fi access. All the latest technical options. We have saved a lot of money going with them. We had the alarm trip by someone entering and we had forgotten not to set, knowing they were coming. Everything worked as it should. We were called and notified and asked if we would like police dispatch.

We’ve been using Dyezz for monitoring our home alarm for several months. The service has been great, and we’ve got no complaints. We recently purchased a new home, and I called to set up service at the new address. There was a slight scheduling snafu (scheduler told us 8am but actually wasn’t scheduled until 9:30am, and they accidentally sent installer to our OLD address), but other than that, the experience was great. The installer was super friendly and knowledgeable. He made sure that all of our questions were answered before he left. All in all a great guy.
Would have loved to have given these guys 5 stars, but with the scheduling issue, I just couldn’t (although I’m thinking the problem was an anomaly). But at the end of the day, I definitely recommend them for home monitoring — no contract and only $ 15 a month!

If there was one business that I could give 100 stars to, it would be Dyezz Surveillance. We became customers about 2 years ago after our finding out that our previous company hadn’t actually connected our security system correctly and we had been paying for monitoring for over 6 years without it ever working! No refund offered — we searched for a new company and found Dyezz.
I thought I’d give them a try because of their low monitoring rates. I loved that I could support a local business. Now, here’s why I want to give them 100 stars…
At the end of May of 2011, my husband and I went to sleep at around midnight. He rolled his eyes as he usually did when I asked him to turn the alarm on (he thought they were a «false sense of security.») We were fast asleep when the alarm went off. I was petrified that someone had broken into our home and wouldn’t let my husband leave our bedroom to face this «intruder.»
After a couple of minutes, he cracks open our bedroom door and a massive burst of black smokey air came in — there wasn’t a burgler, it was a FIRE! We couldn’t even see each other and we were standing right next to each other — there was thick black smoke everywhere.
We couldn’t get out from the back door because that’s the area where the fire was so we head towards the front door right as the fire department pulls up to our house. WE HADN’T CALLED THEM. DYEZZ HAD. I didn’t even realize that they actually monitored our smoke/​fire along with the standard burglery type alarm.
We didn’t have to do anything but safely get out of our house. Our alarm woke us up, contacted the fire department for us, dispatched them to our address and SAVED OUR LIVES.
I didn’t even know it at the time but I was pregnant with our first child, who I will be giving birth to any day now. Thank goodness for Dyezz monitoring and them making sure that everything was transferred over correctly and working when we switched to them.
Their customer service has been exceptional. Any time we’re going out of town or need to contact them to let them know of a «change» they pick up the phone immediately, answer my questions and take care of it on the spot. I love that I can call them, email them or contact them through the website and NEVER have to wonder whether my issue was taken care of or not.
I found out today that they offer Android and iPhone apps to monitor your alarm and home as well. I called them this morning to ask them about putting in a cellular backup so I could get rid of my $ 47 AT&T phone bill. They are coming in a few days to set up our back up so that we can get rid of our home phone line.
This company keeps getting better. I highly encourage you to switch over to them. Forget ADT and all of the other companies who charge an arm and a leg for the exact same thing with worse service and longer hold times. I love that I can call them and ask to speak to the owner (if I EVER had to) and he would be right there.
