Specialties
Violin teachers, Violin lessons, Suzuki Violin
Playing violin takes years of dedicated practice, but when the teacher finds ways to make the process enjoyable and approachable, children love to learn and are willing to work hard. Elise balances a joyful, playful, connected personal style with a tremendous attention to detail and gentle rigor that inspires young children as well as advanced students.
Students of all ages are welcome, and especially children ages 4 – 6, which is a perfect age to start violin. Young students use the Kaleidsocopes Violin Method, which integrates beginning piano, Kodaly-based music literacy, and Montessori self-guided learning with Suzuki principles.
A five-year old student who practices 45 – 60 minutes a day working in the Kaleidoscopes curriculum will typically play their first concerto by the end of their third year of study. Intermediate students (2 – 3 years of playing) show excellent technique, genuine and personal emotional expression, excellent sight-reading, patience and mental discipline, and poise & confidence.
Violin training develops the mind, the heart and the body. The passion, talent, curiosity and hard work students develop during their violin study will help them bring excellence to every area of life, from academics to a profession of their choosing.
