This review is for the Buda location, however, everyone that I have spoken to at the Austin and Buda offices has been absolutely responsive, trustworthy and professional.
Everyone that we interacted with (Debbie, Bo, Billy, Veronica) is a true professional — responsive, detail-​oriented and customer service focused. I’m so happy that we choose Ellis & Salazar to repair our vehicle. Little did we know at the time that our insurance company would eventually deem our SUV a total loss due to additional damage that the adjuster did not take into account. However, having you and your trusted team on our side made things a lot easier.
Hopefully, we will not require a body shop anytime soon, however, if we do need one we would not hesitate to drive 1.5 hours to utilize your services again. And, we will tell our friends about the wonderful service that Ellis & Salazar provide — a FIVE + star experience in our book.

Great experience from start to finish. When you walk in you actually get greeted promptly by a smiling face. WTF?! Crazy nice surprise at 7:30 a.m. Allstate appraiser was shaking my hand within 30 seconds of that and out the door we went to assess damages, discussed options.
Made an appointment for 4 days out (completely acceptable to me. Promised it within 10 working days. Was ready in 4. Great work, also did a great job of removing and replacing my heavy Leer topper!

Just to do an update on this review… About a month after Ellis & Salazar repaired my car, I found out that they had missed a problem on my car. After everything, I complained to my insurance so much that they moved me to a different shop. At this shop I found out that Ellis & Salazar put in a part that was after market, although they told me that all of the parts were Volkswagen top of the line. I went to Caliber Collision over on Ben White and they were great! Nothing like my experience here.

I had a rear seal and bearing that needed to be replaced. I brought it in and Chuck helped me get an estimate and a good price. I really appreciate it and I rate E&S 5 stars! Thank you.

Do not take your car here. They aren’t considerate in the least. I got in a minor collision and what they said would take 12 days at most, took two months. And now that I have my car back three more things are wrong and I have to take it back… So looks like two more months. The guy that was helpful, Ron, is now gone and they are passing my repairs off to someone else. The front office people were also rather rude and when I accidentally called the north division the woman on the phone was a total bitch. If you don’t want a massive headache take your car anywhere else. They also didn’t return my calls until I sent back a survey with my honest opinion.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. After getting in a minor collision I took my car in on October 20^th for a 10 day repair. It is now over a month later and my car still isn’t ready. They’ve told me more than 5 times that my car would be ready on a certain day just to give me an excuse the day before as to why it wasn’t ready yet. They also refused to give me a rental and in no way have apologized for this terrible service and experience. Trust me, do NOT take your car here.

I’m not too happy with this company. It is difficult for me to believe that it took body shop professionals 3.2 hours to remove and replace a bumper attached by 8 screws, another 30 minutes to mix paint color from a formula, and 3 and a half hours to paint a bumper approximately 1.5′ x 7′. But it was on me to question the time they were quoting per task and/​or go to another shop, so they get 2 stars for the notifying me in the estimate
of the upcoming rip-​off.

Someone recently backed into my car and I took it to the NW Ellis & Salazar to get some work done. While everyone was friendly enough, and quite quick in getting the work done, I found the final results to be a bit sloppy. When I first got my car back, it looked good and appeared to be ok. But we then noticed that they forgot to add the rear bumper protector cover back on (and when they did put it back on, it was not properly done), and the right rear roof molding was completely missing (and they now have to order a new one). The quarter panel that was the most damaged is also a bit misaligned. So I will have to make a 3^rd trip back to the shop. I would rather have things done right the first time and not have things left off or forgotten rather than getting the car done as quickly as possible.
After the 3^rd trip, they ended up breaking something and now have to order a new bracket and stepguard. Not only that, they never call when they say they will… I have to call regularly to get any response about new parts or when to come in. They are constantly making excuses for not calling back. Extremely disappointed and annoyed.

I was very impressed with the service I received at Ellis and Salazar NW Austin location. I brought my car in for repairs from an accident. Joey and team did a fantastic job fixing it up. The car looks as good as new and drives great too. The attention to all the little details was tremendous. I appreciate the great service I received and will highly recommend them to others.

I am writing this in regard to an accident which occurred in the first part of June of this year. I took my car to Ellis and Salazar in Austin Texas. At first I was very pleased because they were able to get my car in much faster than other repair shops. When I got my car back it looked good and appeared to be okay. Eventually, I noticed that my headlights were set too low, making for a safety hazard at night. I took my car back in and had the lights adjusted. I did this not only one time, but three ! I would think that they had some kind of device to measure the angle of the headlights so that the beams would be properly adjusted to safety standards. Apparently, they do not have any such device because my lights are still not properly adjusted .That means I still have to return my car at least one more time to get the lights set properly. In addition to this I noticed my gas mileage was considerably worse than prior to the accident. I took my car to the Nissan dealership where I bought it for oil change and asked them if they could tell me what might be causing the problem. They said perhaps it was the alignment so I asked them to check it. They then attempted an alignment in which they found that there was damage to the front right tire which should’ve been fixed during the repairs. Because of this a proper alignment could not be done until it was repaired .I took it back to Ellis and Salazar and told them what Nissan told me .They said they didn’t think it had been done in the accident because it wasn’t mentioned on the initial estimate. There was major damage to the front and I am sure there were numerous things not mentioned in initial estimate. I had to contact my insurance and have someone come out and watch as they put it up on the rack to see if it was damaged in the accident. It was fortunate that the agent was there as he noticed a leak in the supposedly new radiator which Ellis and Salazor had installed on my car, and he ordered that be replaced and that the tire be fixed at the same time. I had asked if all replacement parts were new (since the car is a 2014) which I was told they were, but I was not told that they were aftermarket parts .I feel if the Insurance agent hadn’t been there, that the leak in my radiator would still be leaking. I have had to make at least five trips back to the shop, and still have at least one more to go to try to get my lights fixed .My door on my front passenger side still has a very loud grinding noise when it’s opened fully, which was not there before the repairs. I also have much more wind and road noise on the passenger side. I don’t recommend them as I feel their services sadly lacking. They did not take my concerns or my time very seriously and I’ve had to make too many trips to get the job done right… and I’m still not done.

WOW! I am so excited about finding a body shop that is fair, decent, professional and just great people to work with. I had some trim work I needed to do (out of my own pocket) and was quoted $ 500 by another body shop, and $ 750 by the dealership. Nancy the service writer at E & S took me by the hand and said we will help you. The staff said we will work you in (which was a real treat since they were slammed) and they did. Within an hour I had a professional install job and it cost me $ 105.00! I want to repeat that. ONE HUNDRED AND FIVE DOLLARS. **Smiling here**
They treated me with respect and from what I observed, that is how they treated everyone that came in. How refreshing!
I cannot recommend them enough, I actually had a great experience at the body shop, who woulda thunk it? Left there so happy… AMAZING experience!!!

This company is the real thing in customer service. Thier commitment to service reminds me of my father and grandfather’s ways that are disappearing in our modern times. When the insurance company shunned me over thier own poor decisions, these guys took over to accommodate at thier own expense and did so quickly and even hooked up the rental car. They will reap the rewards of repeat business from me.

Had some body work to do from an accident a couple years ago. I was worried that since accident was so old, I would have troubles with insurance. They knocked it out very quickly and handled everything with insurance company. Also had some hail damage (for which I had already gotten insurance check) and they got it done for less than half of what others quoted…
They also fixed up a mechanical issue. The great part was that we thought it was one part, but it ended up being two parts that were bad. Since they had only quoted me on the one, they only charged me for the one !!! Now that is a great auto shop.
I had gone to Foundation Auto Repair (off McNeil) for years (and also highly recommend), but was looking for a auto body and repair shop in South Austin I could trust since moving out of North Austin. Glad I found Ellis and Salazar.

Wow! Just got our 2010 Camery back form the shop and I can say the entire experience was top notch! They did everything they said they would do and during thr quote process were amazingly honest. Even down selling me on extra work. If we ever need work again we will definitely be back! Super professional, friendly and quaity work. I couln’t be happier.

My car was rear ended nearly two months ago. The driver of the car who hit me had the most awful insurance (example: it took 3 weeks just to get someone to answer the phone to file a claim). When time finally came to get my car repaired, I tried to deal with the body shop that Infiniti referred me to. They were terribly rude, did not want to deal with the insurance company, forceful, etc …
I called my insurance agent and she suggested Ellis and Salazar. I took my car in and worked with Anthony Diaz. He was very nice and did a great job of keeping me informed of the progress. He worked directly with the other insurance company with no complaints, and worked hard to get them to resolve the issues ASAP.
The body work to my car looks fabulous! There was a small problem with the interior of my vehicle when I got it back, but the manager got involved and got the issue fixed immediately.
Anthony Diaz and Ellis and Salazar took a lot of the stress from the accident out of my hands, and did a great job on my car. I would definitely recommend them!

OK. So I’ve got a Lexus. 2009. White, 3-​stage paint. Sucker needed a new bumper after some damage. I read the reviews on Unilocal and took it down to them for a quote. It was on par with the other shops I looked at. I decided to go with them.
The service was great. The guy there (Doug) was really cool and walked me through all the possibilities. The work was done fast and they gave me a ride to/​fro. After I noticed some very minor issues, I took the car back and he had it buffed in no time. He even buffed some other stuff on the car free of charge. The work quality: I can’t tell anything ever happened to my bumper. It looks new.
Give these guys a shot. They’re great. I’m a life-​long customer now.

I recently had my car redone due to hail damage here. They originally gave me a 1 week estimate, which was later extended to 4 weeks, which was fine since they communicated that to me effectively.
Upon going to pick up my car, I noticed a few things I didn’t like about it, mainly the fact that a trim piece was missing. I showed it to them and they told me they would have to order it. A couple of weeks went by and I didn’t hear from them, so I went back down there and they took some more pictures and sent them to the dealership to order the missing piece. Another month goes by and I haven’t heard from them so I call them up. They tell me that piece doesn’t exist. I’m still having to hassle with them to get this piece and I’ve had my car back for almost 2 months now.
As far as the quality of work:
I was going to be very picky about the paint job anyways. But they did a poor job of blending the parts of the car that they didn’t paint with the parts they did. In the sunlight, you can easily tell where they stopped painting on all of the body panels. I am very unhappy about this. Also, there were quite a few places under the hood where they didn’t tape off well enough and got overspray everwhere. I showed them one particular spot of overspray and they were able to clean it off for me.
The service and staff were very friendly throughout my interactions with them, but I’d take superior craftsmanship over friendly customer service.
They advertise that the will get your car into the shape it was before your accident, but anyone can easiliy tell that my car has been repainted by amateurs that couldn’t match the paint nor dither it in properly.
It makes me sick to think about it, but I used the reviews on this site when making my decision process of going with this shop and I feel that I got burned on this deal.

These guys are top notch. I was rear-​ended and they fixed my car. It was all about accomodating me even though I wasn’t personally paying for the work! They’re super sweet people.
My car looks PERFECT… there had been a few spots where my door had been knicked in the past and when I was leaving I asked them how much they would charge to touch them up. The guy chuckled a little and said «FREE!» and i was like «seriously?!?» …he did, by the time I got back from taking the rental back he had touched up all of the spots AND sent me home with a little bottle of touch-​up paint in case I needed to do it ever again.
TOP NOTCH!!!

I’ve been there twice and both times they were amazing! As a woman, I am often treated like an idiot when it comes to dealing with my car, but the guys at Ellis & Salazar were an amazing help

Al Ernst was the guy I used, and I’ll come back to him. He made my car’s situation seem more humorous than serious when he got a look at the car, was always enthusiastic and accessible, in fact called me more than I called him.
The best part: when I was picking up my car and paying the deductible, the fun lady at the desk seemed to really feel my pain. I love that.
Since my neighbor knicked my car last week, I’m taking my car here tomorrow.
