History

Established in 1947.

The Hopf Monument Story

The Dietz Memorial Company was founded in 1903 in Waco TX. Walter Dietz was the first Dietz to work for the company, initially called Gooch and Wells. Walter’s goal was to serve the families of central Texas for their monument and memorialization needs. Walter’s strong sense of community allowed the company to gain a reputation for service and quality that set Dietz Memorial apart from all others. Later, Walter’s son Henry joined his father in the business and carried on the tradition of service to the community. Through additional store openings and acquisitions, Dietz Memorial currently operates 4 retail stores and a manufacturing facility in Central Texas. Dietz also has over 15 additional outlets in the form of on-site partnerships with area funeral homes and cemeteries. Hopf Monument is one of these retail stores. The company remains focused on what is important, excellence in service, quality and value!
