Embassy Suites Hotel

Very disappointing Hilton chain hotel! My room was dirty and decorated circa 1975 with very poor lighting and even worse room service. $ 60 for a very small kabob meal and desert in cheap carry out boxes! The only bright spot was the staff if the hotel and restaurant (though the restaurant isn’t owned by the hotel), they were friendly and attentive.
I would not waste my money on this property!

Best customer service of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Incredibly accommodating. Changed my room when there was a change in the number of people in my party. The room was clean. The shuttle driver gave me a ride to my conference. The staff really take pride in their work. Fabulous experience.

We had a wonderful stay here over Thanksgiving. The staff was amazing, from the house keeping staff, to Stacy who made us breakfast, the front desk staff and the valets: especially, John Baker who helped direct us on sites to see and restaurants not to be missed. A great stay and location too. Thanks for making this a memorable vacation to Austin.

Pierce Stephanson should be the brand ambassador for embassy suites. He was our valet guy and shuttle driver and I was blown away by his customer service and hospitality… If you’re going to Austin stay here!!!

I like this hotel. Great rooms. Very comfortable. Spacious bathrooms. Decent breakfast.

One of the worst Embassy Suites I’ve stayed at and I’m a frequent traveler. First, parking garage is awful and no connecting tunnel/​bridge to hotel. The walk over is a bit «shady» when walking over to front of hotel. Now for the hotel and room. The hotel is old and it shows! Rooms are terrrible. Thin walls, old bathroom, very small. Service upon registration was bad. I asked for extra certain items upon arrival and of course nothing was there. Avoid this property. Disappointed Hilton member. The only plus side is the location.

I stayed here this week for sales meetings with my company. The staff was terrific, friendly and helpful. The location is right across the street from the Bats Bridge, a local hot spot. Also, a short walk to the 6^th Street bars and restaurants. I was very pleased with my room. It was large and comfortable. Plus, I loved the fact I could set the thermostat to meat locker temperatures, since I hate heat and it was 100 degrees. They have a daily Happy Hour where beer and drinks are free, with some very light snacks. I don’t know about weak drinks as was said in another review. I placed a tip in the tip glass and my drinks were fine. Free breakfast as well, made to order. The cook is a very friendly guy who gives you a great greeting in the morning. The food is average at best but still ok. I would stay here even if my company wasn’t paying.

This hotel is outdated and the staff is very rude. The manager blamed previous customers for why check in was late and they ignore you if you ask for your room. The bathrooms are not clean and there was pubic hair in the towel. If you like being treated like a second class citizen, then stay here.

We stayed here at premium suite with bat package for two days. They only gave us one bat amenity and when we asked for at least two more at the front desk the manager said only one per child. Well we paid more money per day for bat package but only got one amenities and they said the money went to parking and wifi. The wifi and parking price is lower than bat package. IT IS ABSOLUTELY A TRICK!!! Never get the bat package! Especially if you want to stay more than one day. AC is not working properly.

Older property. Quiet rooms. Shower very badly worn (cracked floor). Self parking is one of the least convenient I’ve ever experienced (not their fault — lousy design of detached parking garage).
Room service choices are very limited. My cobb salad arrived in a CARDBOARD BOX. It was tasty despite the presentation.
Breakfast team is awesome — friendly, responsive.
I won’t stay again.

Hotel is very close to downtown, at the end of the bridge. Nice, friendly staff, modern décor. spacious rooms with bedroom and living room area. I prefer a tub but bathroom had shower only. Hot breakfast cooked by real people. My only complaint is the valet… they are nice but not accessible. Anytime we wanted to get the car or drop it off, they were missing. We had to go to front desk and have him called to front. I imagine valet is a boring job at this place since it’s not superbusy. Gift shop also closes at 10pm. I also missed HH but glad to hear they have one. [I had a gift certificate so I didn’t pay. I enjoyed my stay but I’m cheap so I’m not sure I would pay $ 229/​night.]

I am giving this hotel two stars only because the breakfast waitstaff/​chef and bartender at happy hour were great!
The front desk staff/​bell hop were all extremely rude and unhelpful. The pool is indoors and there is only a small, bird poop covered patio to sit outside which does not get much sun. My hotel room also smelled like cigarettes after being cleaned.
I normally stay at Hilton hotels and this was by far the worst experience we have had.

This hotel is amazing… not only is it gorgeous when you walk in and around, but the rooms are very ideal for families. 2 room suites with mini fridge and microwave, beautiful bathroom, and terrific central ac (so tired of hotels with the ac unit on the window).
They have a delicious FREE breakfast buffet… but it isn’t like what you’d get at a Travelodge or LaQuinta… it’s actually GOOD. Tons to choose from including an omelet bar. Evening reception offers FREE drinks and snacks as well. We had a wedding this weekend and all our family stayed here. It was awesome to hang out in the lobby before dinner and to come back and still have a place to socialize.
I give this hotel a 4 out of 5 only because the front desk could use a little improvement. The girls I’ve talked to on the phone aren’t very nice or helpful.. but other than that our stay so far has been excellent.

Highly recommend this hotel! The staff is warm and friendly. The manager Sean was so helpful he lent me a phone charger because I forgot one. This hotel is very clean. The rooms are huge! Bed is super comfortable! The gentleman that delivered my food was very kind and greeted me with southern hospitality!

Was staying here with friends on a trip to visit UT! It was a great and beautiful hotel. The lobby was spectacular with a mini waterfall and a interesting fish tank. The fact that they also offered complimentary breakfast was a plus.
Our room was nice and clean. The staff was also super friendly when we asked for extra towels and other things. And the front desk people were also very polite and nice.
One thing I loved was the fact that the hotel offered shuttles to pick us up from the bus (mega bus) stop. Norman, who was our shuttle driver was super nice and hilarious. He smiled and joked along with us.
If my friends and I decide to visit Austin again, we’ll be sure to book a room here! I would recommend this place to any friends who decide to visit Austin!

I’ve stayed at many, many, many hotels and most are higher-​end/​boutique because I’m snobby and fancy like that… You can just imagine my reaction when my friend said this is where we are going to staying for the ACL weekend. lol. To his defense, his friend booked it, so he was just as surprised as me. Before I arrived (b/​c they came in few days before me), he texted me, «Embassy is a gem. Haha. It feels like an old United airplane.» No offense to UAL — one of my favorite domestic carriers.
As the taxi driver pulled into the driveway, I took a look at the façade and knew this hotel was going to have the 80s dated feel. Walking into the lobby, it has the apartment complex look; all floors and rooms are exposed, with the main area being an atrium. Whoever designed the hotel felt like this is what future architecture is going to look like.
Comfy beds, updated bathroom, and updated living area. What I disliked most were the windows in the hallway. YOU CAN HEAR EVERYTHING GOING ON, MAINLY HOUSEKEEPING!
That aside, the hotel gets 4 stars instead of the 2 – 3 it deserves because of the LOCATION. You can walk almost to any restaurant along S. Congress ave, the bridge, or 6^th Street! We didn’t take as many taxis/​über as we were anticipating. It’s also relatively close to the airport.
Would I stay here again, probably not, but the LOCATION IS EXCELLENT.

Whenever I travel, I always look for the cheapest lodging possible. My theory is this: When travelling, you want to «take in the town» not spend all your time in a hotel room. So unless the room is 100% paid for by someone else I always go for cheap so I can take the money I save & spend it all on the nightlife & other fun stuff time the city has to offer!
With that being said, it was our one year anniversary & I was looking for something a bit nicer than the normal places I like to crash out at. Living approx. 20 miles from downtown Austin, I wanted to have a good time & not worry about how to get home so I splurged & got a suite here!
Ammenities were good. Room was clean & the extra room made this the most spacious hotel I ever stayed at. However, I was too busy having fun in ATX to truly take advantage of this hotel room & the amenities offered. Their restaurant did look good & their breakfast, although not free, did look 4 or 5 star quality. Maybe next time I splurge for a suite like this I’ll actually make myself enjoy the room… or not!
Hey, I’m just being honest. Life’s too short to spend it all in a hotel room!

Transparency: I have only given Embassy Suites less than 5 stars once, because I had a really bad experience. I am very brand loyal to this chain of hotels and the Austin location did not disappoint.
Got to stay here for 2 nights during a recent business trip in Austin. The location is great! I walked everywhere this weekend, from the hip S. Congress district to the downtown bars and river area. I had breakfast here daily (LOVE THE OMELETTES) and a business lunch, as well. Having never had a lunch at Embassy Suites, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the meal — fajita bar. Mmmm. I also enjoyed the happy hour and was excited that they had sangria as part of the monthly special.
The room was large and clean. The courtyard of the hotel was nice. Our business meeting was on site, and the staff was very quick to refill our water and coffee stations several times a day. If you are back and forth on where to stay in AUS, do yourself a favor and stay at this awesome Embassy Suites!

I loved this hotel for so many reasons.
1. My amazing friend is the bartender there.
2. The rooms are all suites, so big, spacious, beautiful and comfortable.
3. They worked with me on a room block when the whole city was sold out for graduation weekend.
4., They were so easy to get in touch with and give me information, Thank you Craig. 5. They connected me to a shuttle that made our wedding weekend so much easier. 6. Free breakfast and happy hour
7. Close to everything, so our out of town guests could walk everywhere. Thank you for making the wedding weekend go so smoothly!

At the height of the season, every hotel in the area was super pricey. The Embassy Suites was the most reasonable but the reason why we chose it, was we like the certain comforts that are just part of the package here.
The suite was nice and big, I love the two room suite with mini bar. The room had a updated décor with a cool Austin Music Theme. We did not have a view, but I liked the layout of the room and the awesome shower. The house keeping staff and front desk staff were incredibly nice, lots of local people that were fun to talk to about the city.
There is the morning complimentary breakfast buffet and the Manager’s Reception Happy Hour at night, which are always nice. They will make you an egg white omelet to order if you want and have lots of different options of food on different days.
Although I would have wanted an outdoor pool, the pool area is so beautiful. I enjoyed swimming in the pool before and after going out in the hot Austin sun. The gym is decent with new machines and weights.
The hotel will arrange shuttle service around the hotel. They also can arrange shuttle services to and from the airport. We often would catch a ride and then walk back to the hotel.
It’s close to everything, which was fun to be able to walk everywhere. We didn’t need a car while we were staying there. I love the close proximity to the bridge and waterfront area, walks around there are very pretty and you can see the bats at night.
My only complaint is that the pillows were too damn fluffy. Ha, guess it could be a lot worse.
