Face to Face Spa at Avery Ranch

The scheduled esthetician had last minute emergency, therefore, the administration staff paired me with Ellie. I must said that she is a very skillful esthetician and proficient with massage too. The premium facial included up body massage; her magic fingers run thru my neck, face, scalp and hands, I felt total relax and very enjoyable. She also has a little trick to do the extraction, she use the facial sauna to softly open the pores then gently remove the black hairs, it is painless and left me skin clean, soft and even glow.
I have been a member with Face to Face for over a year now, I always enjoy the wonderful treatments they offer, and I think they hold very high standard. So far, all the estheticians I experienced were very capable. The administration staff are friendly and professional. I strongly recommended this spa.

Went in for a facial today with Leslie. Her treatment was top notch and my experience was exactly what I was looking forward to. The front desk checkout ladies were pleasant and welcoming and I really find Face to Face my favorite spa in Austin.

I was going to/​a member at this spa for well over a year.
I cannot argue the fact that overall, this is a good, competent spa. The facials in particular were amazing– I would glow. However, over my time visiting there I saw a lot of things change that ultimately made me cancel my membership and start trying other places.
First– the prices. When I signed up, a huge perk was that you got all these extra services for a $ 25 add on. In fact, it still says that ON THE WEBSITE on the members tab. Well, go open the PDF brochure. The cheapest peel or micodermabrasion add on is $ 29– and they go higher from there. Is it still a good deal? Yes. Should they inform their clients to when they are raising prices AND update their marketing materials? YES. I got a peel add on that my facialist recommened and when I left, they charged me $ 35 and I was so confused because no one told me.
Second, consistency. As I mentioned, I never had a BAD experience. But, everytime I had a different facialist, I received the facial differently. One skipped over the extraction part totally but without asking if I wanted to skip it. Some people did really great upper body massages, and some barely touched my arm. Some would offer me the free eye treatment if I checked in, some wouldn’t mention it at all and I had to ask. And almost always my 60 minute facial was NOT 60 minutes.
The other factor was again consistency in terms of treatment advice. I got peels fairly regularly and they keep record of the treatments you receive. However, everytime I went it was like I was starting over. My actual facialists would complain someone didn’t leave notes, or wouldn’t tell me what level I was getting if I asked, and despite me always saying I wanted to do a series to fight signs of aging it never seemed to progress or have any cohesiveness to which peels I was getting.
Is this place a good spa? Yes– I saw good results. But not enough for me to give my allegiance solely there and not try any other places, or retain a membership.

I have been a client for several years, since they first open the spa. When they first open, there were better promotions and customer service. Now that they are a franchise, the prices of service have gone up and they are very pushy for you to buy their skin products. Recently I went there for a chemical peel. They strongly suggested for me to buy a skin product. If you do not buy it, they write it down that you refuse and it is on your record. The aesthetician said, the owner is strongly recommending this product after a chemical peel. If this is the case, they can give me a free sample of the skin product. I don’t want to spend over $ 40 on one skin product every time I get a chemical peel.

So love this place! Everyone is both helpful and skilled. Relaxing AND healthy. …ahhhhh.

I was referred to Face to Face Avery Ranch by a friend who has been going for years. I also read wonderful reviews. I went in about 2 weeks ago to schedule an appointment for a peel and also another appointment for a consultation with a nurse for fillers. When I scheduled the peel I made it clear that I wanted the Medium grade Jessners peel. I have had them in the past as well as multiple other treatments, lasers, and such. I have also used Retin A for 20 years so my face is quite used to peels. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful and the lady, I can’t remember her name, stated the she would have to make sure that as a first time client that they could start with that peel. I completely understand, being in the medical field myself, that they have to be safe. She went in the back and spoke to her manager or nurse or someone in charge who told her that it would be fine in my case to schedule a medium peel. Fast forward to the day of my peel, I walked in and was greeted kindly and offered a beverage. The esthetician came out to get me and took me back and explained that I would be getting a light peel today since it was my first time. I explained the previous discussion with the staff to her and she said she would have to speak to her manager. She came back with the same conclusion that it would have to be a light peel. I thanked her and told her I would rather not have a peel because it wouldn’t give me the result I wanted. She then went to get the manager. The manager was also very nice, I discussed the situation with her and told her that I had already cleared this 2 weeks ago. She told me they had changed the peel process 2 weeks ago. Well I thanked her but I was going to decline a light peel. She then agreed to let me have the medium peel. Now, they only schedule 30 minutes for a peel, this had already taken up 15 minutes. The esthetician at this point felt rushed to get me finished. I don’t blame her because she is on a schedule and the information given to her was not correct. We did discuss the areas of concern on my face, scars and such, and I felt she rushed to get me finished and in the end did not even put peel on those areas. It was not the relaxing spa experience I had hoped for.
When it was over and I went to pay, she was already rushing to get her next client. The front desk receptionist told me there wouldn’t be a charge for the peel because it was booked as a «Referral Peel». Well no wonder they didn’t want to give me the more expensive Medium peel. I, however, had no idea that I wouldn’t be charged the regular price. I fully planned on paying full price. I instead gave my esthetician a large gratuity instead. I probably will not be going back. There was an obvious communication break down somewhere.

I have been a member here for over a year now. When I started, my skin care routine was cleanse and go… I did not even own a toner (I’m in my early 30’s, hello what was I thinking!). I always felt like my skin was pretty decent, but coming to Face to Face has totally changed my outlook on skin care for life. Now I use cleansers, toners, moisturizers, vitamin C (my favorite!), and I get a monthly chemical peel.
A peel was something I never would have considered in the past but the staff there is so good at explaining how they work, what is right for you, how to care for a peel, and what to expect. Now I actually get random compliments on my skin– and that never happened to me before. When I go to work early in the morning I can toss on a light tinted moisturizer and my skin feels great!
If you’re new to Face to Face and trying to figure out how to get started– I have to recommend booking LESLIE for the Ultimate Facial (includes her awesomely talented massage of arms/​hands/​neck– and a treatment of some type if you’re interested in jumping into a peel! They’re not as scary as you think) Leslie also does the most gentle extractions… this might seem like an oxymoron but it’s true– with other providers in the past I’ve had redness or scabs from extractions– Leslie is just as effective but with none of the pain. Leslie is also really good at recommending products for my skin concerns… and if I tell her what I might not have liked about one product– she’ll quickly be able to recommend something and she always hits the nail on the head.
Your face is something you will have for life. It’s the first thing people see. Why would you NOT join the monthly membership? You cannot get a more high quality facial at this price anywhere… and the spa is always quiet and relaxing.

I currently see a senior aesthetician at this spa. The facial and massage is really good and I am a regular. I do not recommend the skin care products sold there though.

I came to know of this place through Groupon. Before I purchased it I did my research and upon what I read, felt comfortable to make a visit.
My first time experience was nothing short of amazing! Now before I came here, I hadn’t had a facial — ever, but I’ve seen others get facials and this place does the works! I so wish I had started facials earlier on in life (I’m in my late 20s)! I became a member about a year ago and I try to go every month as they automatically deduct $ from my card at the first of every month, but it’s a little hard to always make it since I moved to San Antonio. I refuse to cancel my membership, though! If you skip a month, the credit rolls over and never expires which is great. Anyway, I’ve only gone to the Avery Ranch location (they recently moved from the old spot in the same strip mall), but it’s nice that there are other locations. This particular one is very clean and a pleasant experience from start to finish.
All the ladies there are great (I can’t really plan ahead to request any certain person, but you can) and I haven’t had a bad experience with anyone. They all know what they’re doing. Some are friendlier/​more talkative than others. Some are more gentle than others. I got one girl, Ciera (sp.?), who was way too abrasive and not all that friendly, so I’m going to avoid her. She wasn’t awful, but I prefer others. RY IS AMAZING! She listens to me, remembers me, and gives me great recommendations suitable for my skin. And she is so accommodating! Thank you!
All in all, this is a great medical grade spa really there to help you get into your best skin. Highly recommend! :)

It just seems there are always issues with this spa over one thing or another! Also they don’t give samples!!! What spa does not give samples… seriously.
I was supposed to get a call back from the manager 10 days ago and of course that never happened.
Offer more Botox and other like treatments.

It’s been a little over a year since I’ve been going here and it still continues to drive results to my acne prone skin!
All of the staff are nice, knowledgeable, and very fun to be around. The spa has a nice calming atmosphere, even in their new bigger location (same shopping center though). They really do try to make it a pleasant experience no matter what the situation may be (coming in late, rescheduling, membership holds, etc).
I originally came here and visited Brittany who pretty much fixed my skin. I came in with bad breakouts on my temples, cheeckbones, jawline, I mean, pretty much every where. Now Andrea is my faces hero. She deals with my odd, outspoken persona just as well as Brittany did. Feel free to be yourself while getting treated, they love it (so they say). Or fall asleep if that’s your thing — they don’t mind!
Honestly, nowadays I’m a lot more comfortable approaching others especially since I’m in the sales field — face to face interactions are critical. I do come in primarily for maintenance (which never hurts).
Get the membership, it’s worth it if you’re trying to think of your skins condition in the long term.
So if you’re a male who’s tried everything about your teenage or even adult acne then I highly recommend coming here. Judge-​free zone my fellow bros.

Still a 5-​star experience for me. Andrea has done my last two facials, and I really like her. She is down-​to-​earth friendly, which I really appreciate, and is knowledgeable of the products. I continue to look forward to my visits to Face-​to-​Face and gladly recommend them.

I love walking into face to face spa. I am always greeted with a smile and an offer of water, tea, coffee, wine or a mimosa. Their skin care lines are top notch.
Leslie is my Esthetician and always takes such good care of me. She has wonderful hands. She always suggests the right treatment for my skin needs and I leave with my skin glowing and silky soft. Whether it’s a basic facial or a skin peel. She never oversells me and only suggests the products I really need and fit into my daily routine. I know I can always count on her.
The only reason this isn’t a 5 star review is because I am not a fan of membership programs. Their program is good, and has wonderful incentives and discounts for the people that sign up, but I don’t like being forced to commit to a place in order to get a better price.

Yes I am a guy and I like spa treatments!
I have to say I’ve been to 2 face to face spas, and both were really disappointing!!! I was not happy the first time but I decided to return to give them one more shot. Why did I go back if the first time experience was so poor– well supposedly they had gotten in new products that were organic that were specially designed for sensitive skin.
I have sensitive facial skin and let them know this when I made my reservations. I told them when I arrived, and when I filled out their paperwork. I also let the tech know before they started treatment that I have sensitive skin and that she should not use anything that has acid in it on my face. The esthetician was new (even though the reservations person told me she was experienced), did not know their product line, and did not know the ingredients to their products. She kept asking me what she should use on my face.
NEEDLESS to say she kept putting products on my face that contained Acids. When it was burning my face, and I was begging her to quickly remove the product, she told me «well that shouldn’t have burned you», when I asked her what was in the product she told me salicylic acid. SIGH!!!
Anyway after a terrible facial and feeling that I had first degree burns my my face, I mentioned to the receptionist that they should really train their estheticians better.
INSULT TO INJURY: the manager called me the next day to apologize and then proceeded to try and sell me some healing balm. Thank you, but no.

So I got my first set of mink eyelash extensions here yesterday. All I can say is WOW! I’ve never had lashes and even with Latisse they really never got long or thick. I love that they look natural and I don’t have to wear mascara. It only took about 2 hours and was actually pretty relaxing. I can’t believe I didn’t do this sooner. Very reasonable compared to alot of places I checked out. Can’t wait to see how they hold up. Highly recommend this spa for your go to place for peels, facials and now extensions! !

It’s been almost a year since my visit here but felt compelled to finish this review that I started some time ago. If only for offering a tip to women 38+ or older women who have not yet patronized Face to Face.
I’m not usually one for facials but have noticed skin changes since having children. Maybe it was back to back pregnancies, hormones, or the lack of sleep for so long, but I’ll be honest, my amazing children have aged me considerably over the last few years.
So much, in fact, that when I have to show ID, I almost always find myself saying aloud to the requestor, «That picture is from BEFORE having children. It’s really me.»
Just before last Mother’s Day, I tired of walking around feeling like a «before» photo and asked J for a facial gift certificate. Face to Face was running a special; facial and a micro dermabrasion or facial and chemical peel.
The experience was nice and relaxing. The employees were friendly. My only issue was with my Esthetician. We made chit chat while she gave me my facial. I asked if she enjoyed her job and there was a long delay in her answer. Sure. She liked it well enough but one day she hoped to have her own salon.
When I asked her about skincare issues she just didn’t seem that knowledgable to the particular nature of my older skin, as she was only 25. Now I’m not an ageist but I wished I had thought to ask for an Esthetician that was of a particular age and experienced with the age of my skin. I feel like I could have really benefited from recommendations and a returning visit skin régime. She just fell short.

What a wonderful experience! Andrea was amazing. Best facial experience. I highly recommend.
The staff is so friendly. Very clean and nice environment.

This review is long overdue: I’ve been getting «ultimate» facials (with Elena) for about a year (includes microdermabrasion or chemical peel) — absolutely fantastic!
I also buy my Jane Iredale makeup and Zein Obagi face products here — very convenient and they keep a good inventory.
This is my husband’s favorite place for massages.
I love the reasonably-​priced monthly membership for facials, monthly spa parties, and the convenient online scheduling and email reminders = awesome!!!
