Good Guys Tree Service was absolutely amazing from start to finish. They took down a tree and cleaned up a couple of other trees and our yard looks transformed. The clean up they did afterwards was outstanding. I HIGHLY recommend this company!

After reading on Unilocal,I called Good Guys. Had a prompt, friendly and professional estimate and the next day a team came out. I was impressed with their efficient work flow and how carefully they cleaned up all the branches, leaves and bark– even blew off and cleaned my driveway which had plenty of leaves etc when they arrived. The ash in the back yard looks much healthier and all the trees front and back have lots of clearance off the roof. Thank you so much, Good Guys!

I called in to get a bid on removing 7 trees, pruning 4 trees, removing shrubs and cutting back overgrowth on an entire side of our fence. We were able to meet the next day when it was convenient for me. Matt quickly assessed our needs and we had a quote that day which was much cheaper than another popular tree service company we’ve used in the past. A few days later their large crew showed up on time and within a couple of hours had completed all the work which included spraying the cuts on our oaks to prevent oak wilt. Everything looked great. Thanks Gavin, Romero, James, Josh, Trino and Pablo.
There was only one problem which was when they pulled out the shrubs an irrigation pipe broke. I called and they said they would have someone fix it right away but they never did. It was an easy enough fix that I didn’t bother following up to remind them to get it fixed.
I will probably give them another chance and hire them again because they did a great job at tree and shrub service, were so much cheaper than other servicers and I anticipate the pipe was a rare occurrence and I probably just needed to remind them to get it fixed.

The crew that was at our property for three days did an amazing job. We highly recommend this company!

SO pissed! We were scheduled to have them come today & NO SHOW!!! We were in communication with the owner who gave us the broken record that they were doing everything they could to get to us. He told us that «every tree is different» and they had six jobs go over today. Um… isn’t it your business to schedule and isn’t that why you have someone come out and assess the trees first? They called us yesterday to schedule for today and never said there was any chance they might not make it. He then gave me the sob story about how they cancelled two jobs so they could come to us next. So they had six jobs scheduled for one day!?! It’s 5:30PM, sunset is at 7PM and we have five trees that needed major work and he was still trying to tell me they were coming. I asked if the owner knew exactly where his guys were and how long it would be before they got here… «on their way to you». I asked again exactly how far they were and again he said, «I don’t know». I asked if he could guarantee that they would finish tonight by sunset, «I don’t know, I haven’t seen your job.» Well MAYBE, if you knew where your staff was, when they would arrive & what the jobs you scheduled actually entailed, you wouldn’t overbook and leave people waiting for you all day! I was clear that I was not happy and all the owner could do was say, «I don’t know what you want» and finally «you should find another company» followed by a terse «thank you for the opportunity to work for you.» You are not welcome! The estimate was done by a very nice guy and detailed enough that they should have been able to schedule properly and if not, they should have offered us a gigantic discount and profuse apologies! Not good guys :(. PS:
Central Texas Tree Care rocked the job two weeks later. They even had their rep come back that morning to talk to our neighbors about a tree overhanging our yard.

The estimator gave me a reasonable quote and was very helpful in assessing what I needed to do in my yard to start a garden. Gavin and his crew did a fabulous job trimming and cutting down a handful of trees in our backyard. They did a bang-​up job cleaning up afterwards. I would recommend the Good Guys Tree service to anyone!

We’ve had Good Guys out a couple times now and will continue to use them for all our needs, which are plenty, because we live on a couple acres in SW Austin that is covered with trees. They are always very punctual, offer very competitive rates, answer any and all of your questions, and do a really professional job. Last week we had a Good Guys crew out to remove two enormous trees leaning in toward our roof. Gavin and his crew were all clean-​cut, friendly, super professional and FAST. They had the two trees down and all debris cleaned up within an hour and Gavin even trimmed a couple low-​hanging branches off our big oak tree while here — just because he’s a real nice guy. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

My appointment to assess my trees was prompt. My concerns were address. The price was very reasonable. We were called when the crew was available. The work was done expertly. The job turned out great. They cut up and stacked my logs. The site was cleaned up. Great experience from start to finish

Excellent experience! After some quick online research I called Good Guys. They came out the next day. The first action was to hand me a copy of their insurance. They are, as advertised, friendly and professional. As I requested, they gave me 2 quotes for different levels of work. I felt the quote was very fair. They scheduled the work for the next day. I was a little concerned at first as I couldn’t be there at the scheduled time to «supervise» :) and I have 2 dogs.
When I came home from work I was completely surprised. Good Guys had gone above and beyond the work requested and there was no trace of evidence that they had been there (except, of course, for the missing, huge section of tree that was previously about to fall into my power line to the house). The agreement was to simply down the section of tree (safely away from the power line) and leave it for me to cut up and remove. I expected to come home to a mess (as agreed). The entire section was downed, cut up, and neatly stacked where I had mentioned that I was going to stack it. All small limbs/​leafs were raked out of the yard. All my straps and ropes (that I had used to tie off the tree) and tools were rolled up/​collected and neatly placed.

I have no idea if these guys are competitive on price, but I thought they were fair. Importantly, they were on time and brought enough crew to knock out the job quickly.
Most impressive though was the follow-​up. They come by to make sure they did what we asked and there was a discrepancy with a particularly large limb that I thought was in the original quote. This was a 40 foot, 15-​inch diameter limb. The version of the work order that the crew leader had was NOT what I had from the initial visit. Then I couldn’t find the original. Instead of arguing about who had the binding work order the guy just said «we’ll do it». They then spent the next 90 minutes taking care of business and cleaned up the area spotlessly.
This is how customer service works and I would definitely hire these guys again in a second.

GoodGuys were prompt in providing a quote on work to be done and also prompt on performing the work. They did exactly what we discussed and in a professional manner and at an excellent price. Clean up was thorough the the work was exactly what we wanted.

Very professional and efficient! We would recommend this team to anyone with a difficult removal. They even took care of another issue we had right there on the spot!

we bought a home built in the 70’s and i don’t think the trees have been touched since it was built. Good Guys gave us a VERY fair price to clean up our trees and take out several scraggly ones. They are very professional, knowledgeable and i would HIGHLY recommend them my friends and family.
They ended up doing work for two of my neighbors as well.

Hired these guys to come out after that bad storm we had earlier this year as I had a lot of down limbs, those that had broken off and were still in the trees, and just a mangled mess in the tree canopy.
They were punctual in their quote, considering some companies didn’t call me back, even one company that I had used previously just a few months before. The price was pretty reasonable. Scheduling was a little frustrating. A 5 day estimate nearly turned into two weeks, requiring me to follow-​up twice with the manager/​owner. Once they showed up, the work was good. The foreman was running a little late, so the crew wanted to go ahead and get started. I walked around the yard and showed the main cutter and is english translating nephew the expected work. They got started and the foreman finally showed. Due to the language barrier early on, I had to go back out and have them correct one area. They did it with a smile on their face. Clean up was good, although my pool was left a mess.
Bottom line is I haven’t found a perfect tree service company in Austin over the years, but these guys are «Good». I’ll call them again when it’s time for a big tree service.

Good Guy Tree Service removed a tree for me. They gave me a very fair price and did great work. Were there early and finished by 1:30, removing the large tree, grinding down the stump and cleaning up. I would highly recommend them.

I’m very disappointed with «Good Guys Tree Service.» I was kind of desperate to have my live oaks trimmed before the fall, so I called 3 companies to quote on 3 small/​medium live oaks. Good guys was the quickest one to reply with the quote of $ 700 (Seven Hundred dollars) so I [stupidly] scheduled for them to come for the next morning. Their crew is quick, they did the job in about 2 hours, I feel that my trees were not trimmed enough, many of the trimming were not sealed, there were a lot of branches left that I had to clean myself. Some points of my review for you to consider before scheduling with them:
* If I had waited A DAY I had saved $ 400!!! So they’re ridiculously OVERPRICED!
* I was expecting that they could trim all the trees very carefully and not in a hurry
* My trees are still full and they don’t look trimmed, one of the branches still reaches the top of my car

I am SOOOOOOO impressed with this company!!! I called several tree companies looking for someone to help me tame my large overgrown yard. Matt called ahead on the day that the estimate was scheduled to let me know that he was on his way to my house and would be a few minutes late. After we walked the yard and came up with a strategy Matt gave me a VERY fair estimate for the work that was to be done.
This morning Matt and his crew showed up bright and early. We reviewed our agreed upon plan and his crew went to work. They were all fast and efficient and had the job done in a little more than an hour! Something that would have taken me weeks to accomplish! I am so grateful to this company for their services and I definitely will have them back in the near future to do more work.

Yay used good guys, we had a pretty major snafu, or info error or whatever you’d like to call it. I made a phone call about a job half done. Without argument, or defense the gentleman on the phone told me he’d take care of it and find the details. 5min later he called back and let me know the problem, which was information about the job was taken down wrong.
They went back the same day and finished the job. No problems. They did an excellent job with clean up, and had so much debris they needed to come back the next morning. Which they did bright and early.
They did a really good job and I would feel good recommending them to anybody at all.

Good Guys should call themselves Great Guys! Matt came out on a Saturday to give me a quote on all the work I needed done and they were able to immediately put me on the schedule. I’m very thankful it happened before family was coming over to visit.
James and his team worked quickly onsite and did a great job cleaning up, I really appreciate it. I highly recommend Good Guys and will definitely call them again.

Good Guys came out to clean up our overgrown backyard. They were friendly, but we aren’t thrilled with the result. They were far too aggressive in their pruning and took too much off our tress. I had specifically asked for some of the foliage to be left to screen our yard from our neighbors, but they removed all of the branches except for a puff of green at the top. :(Look up «lion tailing» and you will see what I am talking about. From what I have read, cedar trees can die if they are pruned to aggressively — I am crossing my fingers that ours won’t.
They arrived around 8:00 a.m. and were gone by 1:45 p.m. — not much time to spend carefully and systematically pruning about 20 trees.
Also, we had 4 companies bid the job, they were BY FAR the most expensive.
