H&R Block

Sadly, honesty and integrity are rare nowadays. However, both can be found in spades with Ami. I have never used a tax assisting company before, and after the helpful, kind, and genuine personalities I encountered here, I have no reason to give my business to any other establishment. Ami patiently guided my confused ramblings and anxious questions to a resolute and relieving sigh. Not only did I save hundreds of dollars with the highly niche and beneficial information she laid out for me, she also counseled me on how to combine ira’s and advice for retirements! If most of the other advisors are at all like Ami, then I would recommend H&R block to all my family and friends.

DO NOT take your 1099 here or any H&R Block for that manner. They will charge you $ 400 to do 1 1099. First of all you shouldn’t have to pay for an easy W2. When it comes to something like a 1099 they act like it’s hard but 30min later they say you owe $ 400 for just doing them, horrible feeling. Plus you owe the IRS and H&R Block, makes you feel gross when you leave. I almost feel like the people working these H&R Block offices can make up there own prices. But come on $ 400 that’s highway robbery, straight up crooks.

I usually do my taxes myself but this year I didn’t want to deal with it. I’m so glad I made the appt. I had a 1:00 with Oktomy & by 1:25 I was out the door. Quick, cheap & simple. Best of all Oktomy was able to get me 500 more dollars than I could have on my own. You rock Oktomy! I will definitely be back next year.

Don’t waste your time or money on this place. People were really nice, there was no difference between doing it online and having a professional help. Besides the cost of 220 dollars. I would have done it online for 40. Rip off service!

Doing my taxes this year was easy! Charles really took the time to read through everything and he got me the best return I’ve ever had!

A year ago I visited the H and R Block to get my Taxes done. It was fast, easy, and at 70 dollars I though it was a great deal. I didn’t have to do anything but bring my W2’s in!
Fast Forward to a couple of weeks ago. I was so happy with my first H and R Block experience that I visited again… bad move. The thing that I didn’t realize is my taxes are a little more complicated from a year ago. I am filing jointly with my wife, I moved to another state, I have a 401K, a HSA, etc. With each complicated task, you get charged more money. I left H and R block with a 400 dollar bill! The crooked thing is that they don’t tell you your total till after you are done completing your filling. After sitting there for 2 hours I didn’t have the patience left to say «Never mind, I’ll go somewhere else».I left angry that some of my wonderful tax return would have to go back to H and R Block. Especially considering I don’t have any idea what the heck they did. I watched the guy hit the buttons… it looked like something I could have done from home!
Next year its all about Turbo Tax. If you are single, then H and R Block is great, but if you have difficult taxes I would consider finding another alternative.
