Customer service was great. Location is not bad either. Good place to go look if in need of new reading material for a good price. Good selection too.

I’m trying to build up my library at home with all the classics in hardbound. Found several gems while I was here. Had to put some back just because I knew I would end up spending way to much. hehe. I sold a few books back, not a huge amount given back, but they were paperbacks that I now have in hardbound. The staff was very helpful, showed me where a few books were. I saw a book someone else had just sold back and they«saved» it for me, the other copy in the store was more expensive but in worse condition. Yet I got the one just traded in for $ 1. Plus its calendar time, so I got my free HPB calendar with all the coupons. Also found a vinyl record in good condition. Not a huge store, but the convenience of it being so close will definitely make me a frequent visitor. Just hope my hubby doesn’t freak out when I keep bringing home stacks of awesome books.

I was very excited about this new location but unfortunately it wasn’t great. I came in looking for a few different things(fiction, language, autobiographies, and DVDs) but they did not carry any of the things I was looking for. I can understand it being a newer location, therefore less inventory but it was disappointing. I settled for a book, went shopping for about an hour next door, and I realized I had purchased the wrong volume. I had only bought it an hour prior so I didn’t think a return would be a huge deal. The cashiers were very nice but they had to call the manager up to do the return and looked at each other hesitantly… She stomped up to the register huffing and puffing as if I’d just asked her to do my taxes. She was RUDE, condescending, and treated me like I was Hitler for returning a $ 12 book. I was apologetic and understanding a return is a slight inconvenience because I have also worked in retail, but she bitched the entire time and made a huge deal about nothing. When I was putting the receipt in my purse she loudly said«NEXTTIMEREADTHEBACK». I could see the other cashiers were really embarrassed and nervous around her. I will not be back here! The other locations are bigger and better anyway.

I’m so disappointed with this place. Everything is overpriced!!! I was looking at the PS3 games seeing what games I might buy and low-and-behold I saw skyrim. For a used copy they wanted $ 29.99. Why would I pay that price for a used game when I could go to Walmart, and get the Legendary edition with more content for $ 20? On top of that the used movies/tv shows section was overpriced as well as their comic book section. I will stick to the Half Price at 5555 N Lamar to get all my good deals.

Where to begin, it’s called half price books not full price books plus add some more money on top of the final price. I don’t know who is pricing their comics but how hard it it to look up a comic on ebay or even comics price guide. It’s like they made a price wheel and spun it and what ever it landed on was the final price. Had this been the half price on north Lamar they would have worked with me on the price of this dvd I paid for. The dvd had a price tag of $ 14.99 and it was from august. They could have discounted it to 7.99 like the other ones but the manager said no it was to new to the store. I didn’t know 4 months was too new. Ohh well I will stick to my favorite half price on north lamar.

Found«employee of the month» on DVD for $ 4. They have literally hundreds of used and hard to find DVDs at the cheapest prices. Since cheapos went out of business, this place will do.

Great to have a far south HPB. Great knowledgeable staff. The thing I learned with HPB is that I cant ever go in with a list of books that I am looking for. I never find them. I have to just wander the aisles until I find hidden gems. Last time I found two great Vonnegut books, two Hemingway books I had been looking for, and a few obscure DeLillo books. I had gone I searching for a Bukowski. I love this store.

This is the newest location in Southpark Meadows and its all shnazzy … So the downside to a new location is it filled with new books AND so you will pay more for your book because it does not have many trade ins yet. The customer service was nice. but nothing over the top. but again they are semi new and I need more experiences at this location to fully judge it. I did buy two books and my mom bought four books. All for the price of $ 40.00 bucks. Love it! The store is set up like all the others… as in with all the different sections and the buy back service. Over all… Its a nice place!

I am so happy to have HPB so close to home. The store is big, staff is friendly, and the selection is fantastic. I love how clean and open this store feels, not cramped or dusty like some of them. Thanks HPB for coming Deep South, you are much appreciated by this book worm!

I was doing some exploring after moving into a nearby apartment. Tucked way in the back of Southpark Meadows was this bookstore. I went in, took a look around and saw used video games, vinyl, CDs, magazines, and a mix of new, used, and collectible books. I pulled some books to check reviews and price compare with my Amazon app. Everything that was new or shipped from Amazon was cheaper here! I even found a copy of a book I had not been able to find at 3 other places. I’ll be back to buy/sell/trade.

YAY finally one down south! The store itself is a good size and holds most of the items that I would need. The good thing about this store that its still not as well known as the others, so you don’t have to deal with the crowds(when I have gone in, there has not been a crazy crowd or a very long check out line). The place is tidy and clean! Staff is always nice and helpful like the others ones!

Had a few minutes to kill before my eye exam at Sam’s Club and noticed this Half-Price Books pop-up out of nowhere. I’m very excited we Far-South-Austinites have a HPB now. Walked in and everything was organized and the place has a nice wood smell. They had a good selection of books on clearance for just $ 1. I can’t wait to go back when I have more time to peruse their books.

Southpark Meadows is complete! We have a Half-Price Books. Went during the Grand opening. Very well organized and stocked. The folks working there were very friendly and knowledgable. Very easy to sell back your old boks but you really don’t get that much. Better than collecting dust at home.
