They will not take advantage of you, overcharge you or ‘find’ something wrong with your vehicle. They tell you how much it going to cost when they call you and there is no surprise charge when you get there

There are only a few places I have been that I have kept going to. Most auto shops do not have the friendly atmosphere or family familiarity as I have found at, Jimmy’s Top Tech Auto. They are polite, friendly, quick and listen as I try to explain what is going on w my vehicle. Any one of them. And have rescued me when my vehicle has quite on me one more than one occasion.

Wow. What a great auto repair shop. They really helped me out. I attempted to change the sparks plugs in my Hyundai Accent (something I had done successfully before in the past). In this particular instance, I managed to break the ceramic top of one of the spark plugs and a few pieces drop into the cylinder head. Upon doing this I Googled and found out there would be 3 ways in which to «fish out» the pieces. One was to get a shop vac and attempt to suck out the pieces. Next, was to obtain a «snake» camera, locate the pieces, and attempt to remove them with some sort of angular pliers. The last was to remove the head gasket. The last was the most costly option. I was aware of these options prior to taking my car to Jimmy’s Top Tech Auto Repair. Jimmy was aware of those options as well and explained each of them to me. He said he would try the first two before going onto the third (and most expensive option). And he did just that. It saved my hundreds of dollars. They definitely have my repeat business and I would recommend them highly to a friend. I dropped off my car around noon and it was ready later that same day.

EXPENSIVE!!!
Took my wife’s Miata to fix the air conditioning. Paid $ 471 and they didn’t fix it. Took it back and for another $ 546 it seems to be working. No mention of the money spent initially.
This guy is a real glad hander. Beware!

I love Jimmy’s Top Tech. I have been bringing my car here for years, it’s an older car with high miles and the tech’s here take great care of me. I never feel ripped off and always feel like Jimmy goes over my options thoroughly before we pursue a course of action. I also like that it’s a family run business, they are really good people. They will also run me home or to work in their courtesy shuttle, super convenient!

I have been to Jimmy’s at least 8 times with at least 4 different cars over the past 10 years. Every time they fix it right, charge fairly and exhibit manners. Nice people.

A place to avoid. Very unprofessional scammers who will fix your vehicle fast with out your permission. But you just wanted a quote? Hah, good luck with that! You’ll walk out the door paying an arm and leg for work the dealership charges less to do. Go somewhere else!

Took my car here for a state inspection after taking it to another garage that tried to rip me off by telling me I had a serious brake problem (beware of Capital City Auto on S. Congress).
It was $ 29.25 (I paid cash to avoid the $ 1 credit card fee). Manny and Mr. Nieto who did the actual inspection were friendly and efficient.
Don’s Automotive also on S. First had recommended this shop (and Manny specifically). They are also a great place but unfortunately don’t do state inspections.

I have to say I was a bit skeptical to take my BMW there, but my hubby swears by their service and expertise so I took the chance. Have to say I was extremely happy with the service and the price. They took care of my car and it was way below what I would have paid at the dealer. Great job and I will definitely be back.

I’ve used this shop for years. The work has always been done promptly and for the quoted price. Prices are reasonable. There have never been any issues with quality — it’s all gone well. I definitely recommend them.

I do a lot of my own work on my cars but I have a day job so I have to outsource when I don’t have the time, or it is an urgent fix, or it is beyond my knowledge level. We’ve been taking our cars to Jimmy’s for over 10 years. He and his mechanics are honest and competent guys. I never felt like I was burned for an unnecessary fix. They never attempt to push us into unnecessary fixes like other corporate businesses. They even take my wife to work downtown when she drops it off in the a.m. I highly recommend this business if you need a reliable mechanic.

Jimmy’s Top Tech is the best. My family has been taking our autos to him for a few years and he has been upfront and honest. Mechanics have been given a bad reputation due to unscrupulous ethics, but Jimmy has allowed me at times to come in w/​o an appt., and has taken care of my car at the drop of a hat.

Went here after a recommendation from a friend and could not be happier with the service! I was having an idling problem and took it in around 3pm on a Monday, Jimmy said he couldn’t get to it that day but if I brought it in the next morning he would get me in and out as soon as he could. Brought it back the next day and he made my car a priority. He plugged my car into their computer and ran some diagnostics and it turned out to be a dirty valve. He said it would probably clear itself out if I drove it around and sure enough it did. He didn’t charge me a dime and was really helpful in answering my questions. Don’t pay attention to the other reviews on customer service! What would you rather have anyway? A good mechanic with occasional bad customer service or a shitty mechanic who is really nice? He was honest and courteous with me and I will definitely take my car back here.

****BEWARE****
they tried charging me $ 95 for checking a check engine light. i never asked them to do so. btw. its free to do it at autozone. then they cross threaded my oil drain plug on a simple oil change. they didn’t tell me. weeks later oil just dripping all the time. i had to replace the whole oil pan. new mechanic for found the evidence of a temp patch job (tape around old plug).

We came here to inspect our car that we had just bought. We were quoted $ 90 for inspection. It seemed fair enough. But we clearly notated to Jimmy that if anything else needed to be done to contact us. Jimmy took it upon him self to take the horn relay apart and charged us an additional $ 90. He never contacted us prior to doing this. I think that he is dishonest and would never recommend this place to AnYbOdY! Watch out and be aware-​you might want to try someplace else!

These guys are pretty good. Price quotes were better than the other S. 1^st or S. Congress shops that I called.
What I’ve realized is that auto work has to be judged by the job (not the mechanic or the shop), and I’ve had some decent jobs done at Jimmy’s — timing belt, brakes, tires.
The only time something wacky happened they took care of it right away (driving away with smoking brakes was kind of questionable). It was pretty weird considering their usual chummy talkativeness that the characteristic «I’m-not-going-to-understand-this-technical-information» explanation was missing. Well, at least they fixed the problem and didn’t try to lie about it.
