I’ve always had the luxury of having a washer and dryer in my apartment, so now that I don’t, I wanted somewhere clean, affordable, and convenient to wash my clothes.
They have great deals — $ 10 for $ 20 worth of washes, and you can just add money to your LaundryWorks card easily through the kiosk. I always trust leaving my laundry while I go run other errands — the staff is friendly and the place is not sketchy like you’d imagine a laundry shop to be.
I definitely appreciate the number of washers & dryers — there are always enough available for everyone who comes in, and there is seating for you to wait for your clothing to be done, as well as tables for folding and carts to transport wet clothing to the dryers. I do wish there was a bit more seating — sometimes, during crowded hours, there is nowhere to chill while waiting, but that’s a minor detail. It’s also close to West Campus and North Campus.
They also offer free wi-​fi, which I have used easily every time I come in. I will say, the machines are a bit pricey, but to me it’s worth.

The location is set in an awfully busy intersection, but thank the lords for a dedicated parking space and easy system of getting your laundry done!
I’ve always detested using dedicated apartment complex laundromats since my quarters seem to magically disappear, and scrambling for quarters is never fun.

Bring your laundry, detergent (or buy their pods 2 for $ 1), and some other stuff ya might need, put some money on your laundry card, and ta-​da~ your one or two loads of laundry are fully cleaned and dried in about less than an hour.
Laundry works has nice machines that are a little more pricey but altogether great and worth every penny. The workers are extremely helpful and will assist you if you ask politely. Free WiFi, but no restroom.
Also Unilocal and Groupon have extensive deals on $ 10 for $ 20 or such deals you should be scavenging for!

I absolutely love Laundry Works!
I just started an Airbnb and found myself overwhelmed at the amount of towels: sheets etc that I had to launder more regularly — plus I have an under the counter tiny washer & dryer.
I was reluctant to go back to my student youth and pack it all up to a laundromat but /​I had no real choice.
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of service — cleanliness of the facility /​super efficiency of the machines to get my laundry clean but also in record time!
The varied staff that is there are without fail — Maggie is especially helpful and friendly and each person I have interacted with are just good people. Whenever they have had to call management due to my error in «losing» my card — Roy easily finds my balance and transfers it to my new card.
I can’t say enough good stuff — I actually now prefer to come here for all my laundry as it is so convenient — also it’s close to Wheatsville Coop — Buffalo Exchange /​Malvern Books — many places to walk to while your less than 30 minutes tick by.
I highly recommend!

How do you downgrade a laundromat? Try not opening your store.
I found LaundryWorks three months ago and as you can see by the original review I loved it: there’s a lot going for it.
But not enough: let’s get real. The Wi-​fi never works so don’t bother advertising it.
But what’s really made me drop my rating and change to other stores is their constant inability to open on time. Four times in three months I’ve gone here and its locked after their posted opening hours. Two-​three minutes late? I could handle. 45 min to an hour? Well, what time do you really open?
Yes, you can email the owner and yes they’ll give you a free wash (big deal, that’s like $ 3) but does it make up for schlepping your stuff across town only to find the store closed?
Again?
Not really.
Bye LaundryWorks. Y’all can sleep in now because I’m not coming back…

OMG the days of going to the bank to get cash, then changing it into quarters, and doing the whole laundromat song and dance are over! Come in here, get a loadable card, swipe your credit card to add credit, swipe your card at the machine, oh shit– you forgot detergent? You can buy a detergent pod (cash only I think) And the machines are fastttttt.
I love doing as much as I can at once, so I use the huge machines and wash all my linens and towels. Great place, helpful staff, and WIFI!!!

This place is really clean and a pretty quiet place to catch up on work while doing your laundry. The staff is always polite and willing to answer any questions you may have. My favorite thing about. This place is definitely the reloadable laundry card because it’s such a pain to constantly be scrambling around for coins. It’s not too far down the street from my place so the drive is worth it.

It looked a little sketchy on the outside but the machines inside are very high quality. The inside is also very clean. The machines come in 2 different sizes. I came here to wash a blanket my cat peed on and this place did the job! The washers and dryers are also very quick! I was done in an hour.
They don’t use coins. There is a machine where you get a laundry card and you fill that up. The customer service lady was also very sweet and helpful!
This is my first laundry mat so it cost me $ 6 using the large machine and regular dryer. Not sure if that’s expensive or not. Dryers are 33 cents per 8 mins and washers are charged depending on what size you use.

This is a ‘Whole Foods’ of public laundromats. The employees are just one big reason to come here and do your laundry. Ester and Donette will always greet you, chat with you and genuinely enthusiastically help you with any questions you may have. And most likely you will have some questions as this is a high-​tech place that uses Europe’s number one brand of washers and dryers (Electrolux) that will weight your dirty laundry, massage it like at a spa, spin it that it comes almost fully dry. Dryers at 30 cents/​cycle will dry your laundry in one cycle. Yes you’ve heard it right. Oh, it is more expensive but all the beautiful people watching, the friendly, lounge-​like vibe, the level of cleanliness and personal assistance that you get… it’s all worth it. Seriously hands down the best public laundromat in Austin. Oh did I mention Wheatsville, Juiceland, Torchys, Starbucks, Buffalo Exchange and tons of other fun places are less than 5 min driving distance!

I love this place. It has modern, clean, commercial grade Electrolux machines and is always clean and serene.
Before I get to all the other wonderful reasons this place is awesome, I’ll start with this: Machine quality really does make a difference in making your clothes and bedding look gorgeous and extends their life. Due to top of the line equipment, when I do laundry here, my clothes come out clean, unwrinkled, and lint free. Truly luxurious.
What really sets LaundryWorks apart from the rest is its super helpful and friendly staff. If it’s your first time, they’ll walk you through getting a card, explain the different machines, and show you where to put your detergent, fabric softener, etc. Everyone I’ve met there has been delightfully polite and helpful.
They have an electronic kiosk where you can easily reload your card using cash or a debit or credit card. It’s always cool and there are fans going. (I do wish they’d turn down the AC a few more degrees, as doing laundry can be a sweaty task, but there are so many other things I like about this place, I’m not going to gripe.) Machines and facility alike are very well maintained and clean.
There are plenty of rolling carts and clean folding tables, and plenty of seating, with a counter and stools facing out the window, and free WiFi so you can study, entertain yourself with your device of choice, or just watch the goings on outside. It’s conveniently located close to Buffalo Exchange, CVS, Wheatsville Co-​Op, Malvern Books, and tons of casual eating spots, so you ambitious folks can kill two birds with one stone!
LaundryWorks partners with Belly, a local rewards app you can load on your smart phone, so you can rack up points each time you go. In just three visits I earned a free double load wash and two 16-​minute drying sessions. Oh — that reminds me — their dryers are truly turbo charged! Drying time on medium heat for two bath mats and four towels was only about 25 minutes. And most regular loads dry in 16 minutes or less! So efficient!
Although I haven’t used them, I noticed that LaundryWorks also offers wash and fold services, and they’ll even deliver your clean laundry to you by bicycle cart!
I thinks this is a wonderful local business that deserves your patronage. Enjoy!

The machines are modern and efficient, so the loads are done quick. The facility is clean, and the staff is friendly.
I can think of worse places to spend my Sunday afternoons.

I was in Austin for business and needed to wash my shirts because it was to late for laundry service at the hotel. I am not very familiar with laundromats but the black lady that works there is very helpful and friendly. She helped me with a smile and showed me how to use the machines. This place is clean and the machines are new and not expensive.

While it’s true that Unilocal bears some fault for not differentiating between a dry cleaner/​laundry service and a laundromat — those are two clearly different categories in my mind — LW also has the ability to clearly state what they do on their ads and descriptions. For not doing the latter, I have to remove a star, but I am also willing to revise my earlier 1-​star review.
Otherwise, were I in the market for a laundromat, I’d go here. It’s clean. The machines appear to be well maintained, and the lady working there was very nice and reasonable. Unilocal,to their credit, refunded my misspent $ 10 quickly and without much fuss.
If you’re doing laundry, try Laundry Works. If you want someone else to do your laundry or dry cleaning, go elsewhere.

I arrived at Laundry Works on a Wednesday at about 3:30pm. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and walked me through setting up a laundry works card to use the washers and dryer. You can only put in $ 4 cash and using $ 5 credit card minimum. This can be a problem if you are using this facility once or want to get the most out of your money. It’s about $ 2.68 to wash one load and $ 0.66 to dry. The washers and dryers are new and it takes 26 minutes to wash a regular load and about 16 minutes to dry (you have to insert your card twice to get it to 16 minutes, it charges $ 0.33 for 8 minute intervals. Laundry detergent is $ 1.00 and comes in cubes. I only had a weeks worth of clothes to wash so it went really fast. Even though the card system can be expensive, I would definitely come here again due to the service, cleaniness, and speed of washing my clothes here. It’s a college aged crowd since this place is in the UT area.

This is an excellent laundromat. Good vibes and very clean. Prices for a 30 minute spin sesh are $ 3.86 for the smaller machines, $ 5 for the biguns. I fit my whole closet in the big one, but I have fewer clothes than you do.
Load them up as full as you can – it isn’t possible to overfill these suckers. The washers have the tumbler suspended so it can go super duper fast. It’s really cool. Dryers go for $.33/​8 mins. I blew my load completely dry in just two cycles.
A helpful, nice young lady is available to help you if you need it. I redeemed my $ 10 for $ 20 Unilocal promo in about five minutes. This place is great, give them your garments.

This is by far the highest laundromat I’ve ever been to. I love the green cleaning machines. The cycles go so quickly that even though I came here to work, with the free WiFi and all, I didn’t have any time to work! And on my second time here, I asked the worker about her suggestion and it turns out that the different washers (don’t forget the bigger load washers in the back!) can carry different weights. That’s why the scale is up by the cash register. So just ask for help and you’ll be surprised! I never thought I could CRAM washers full until I came here.
The place is nice and clean, with a pretty good restroom too. Great facility and customer service! Found out about this place through Groupon and they even have Belly here. Love the deals!

Really clean place. I’ve never had to frequent a laundry mat until I started to live on my own, in a unit without w/​d. The laundry mat on 24^th is closer to my apartment, but after reading some reviews about not having a/​c I decided to try out Laundry Works instead.
Their paycard is interesting– thanks to Unilocal I got a $ 20 for $ 10 preloaded card. It took the attendant a few minutes to set up and in the meantime, she showed me how to use the washers which are more futuristic than I thought possible. I stuffed all my clothes into a 3 loader for I think around 3 dollars– it took about 25 minutes. I watched some Netflix on their free WiFi while I waited and went next door to get some coffee. The dryers are $.33/​8 min cycle (you can swipe multiple times before starting the cycle to double or triple the length). All of my clothes were dry within two cycles so it only cost me a whopping $.66 and 16 minutes to dry everything.
Staff is really friendly and the whole place is clean. I’m really relieved to have had a good experience because I know laundry mats can be shady– I even stayed so I could fold my clothes for once

Until now, I have never had any need or desire to post about a Laundromat. The Laundry Spot is the what a laundromat should be. The last time I was in a laundromat, they still had the coin slots and the ancient individual soap dispenser vending machines.
Not here, they use state of the art Electrolux machines. The spin cycle is so strong, the clothes come out almost dry enough to wear, which is why it only takes 2– 8 minute cycles to dry them.
The staff is exceptional. They walked me through the process (there is a trick to getting a good pre-​wash) and greeted every customer like an old friend. It harkens back to the old days when neighborhoods were a community.
You can drop off your clothes to be washed and folded as well.
Exceptional place, exceptional staff. Hope to see them expand throughout Texas.

I thought I was past the period of my life when I would ever need a laundromat again. But this month, we embarked on a several-​month journey of remodeling our house — and, well, underwear simply cannot wait for several months. So I got on Unilocal to tap into the laundromat hive mind and Laundry Works rose to the top.
I arrived on a rainy Saturday toting a GIANT pile of laundry. Thanks to Laundry Works’ Unilocal deal, I got a shiny new card loaded with $ 20 for just $ 10 and proceeded to wash AND dry the equivalent of six loads of laundry (I used three double-​load washers and two dryers) for what would have cost me just $ 14 even without the Unilocal deal. Both the washers and the dryers are super efficient and fast — the wash cycle was 25 minutes and the dryer took just 24 minutes for my normal load and 32 minutes for the load with jeans in it to get everything totally dry. The dryers work in 8-​minute cycles for $ 0.33/cycle, so most loads can be dried for a mere $ 0.99 (tip: you can swipe the card multiple times at the beginning of a cycle or add more time partway through a cycle to avoid the cool down period at the end of a cycle). As far as I’m concerned, this is an amazing deal, and I am seriously considering doing my laundry here all the time, even after our remodel is finished. It’s really nice to be able to do multiple loads at once and the whole thing took just over an hour vs. an entire day of monitoring loads from washer to dryer to folding. Especially in the winter months when the City of Austin does wastewater averaging, the water savings from doing your wash elsewhere translates to savings all year round.
The place is very clean and feels well-​organized, unlike many of the laundromats I’ve frequented over the years. And the service is friendly and very helpful. We got to visit a bit with one of the co-​owners and she was just super nice.
So if you’re feeling a bit out of shorts (ahem), head on over to Laundry Works and give ‘em a spin.

Update: tested the free Wifi, which is secured through WPA2. On my phone I showed speeds of 41 Mbps down and 6 Mbps up.
I also like how the machines beep — a pleasant beep, not an annoying claxon — when a load is completed.
