Terrible customer service. Won’t ever purchase a vehicle from here again or use their service center. One guy was cool but the manager was useless.

If I could only buy my cars from this dealer, it would be my choice. From the beginning to the end, they made the entire process an enjoyable and stress-​free experience. Dan «The Man» Lamar was my Sales contact, and he was beyond helpful and informative.

BE CAREFUL
I came in and did a test drive today, and liked the car. It was a good deal, but I negotiated down a few hundred bucks from the asking price and got the $ 496 LoJack (which they tack on to all their cars and expect you to pay for) removed. I was paying close to $ 800 off the asking price, nothing substantial.
The problems started when I was sat in a room with finance guy (?) Jimmy Cruz who gave me a contract which had the original contract price and the fee for the LoJack. I let him know that this wasn’t correct, or what we had agreed upon. At this point he let me know that ‘he would look into it’ in a very condescending way and disappeared for ten minutes.
This dealership will provide you with what they call a ‘Pencil’ with the price at the top, and a listing of payments per period financed with the down payment factored in and a ‘estimated’ interest rate. This is important because it’s what they used to try to screw me.
When Jimmy returned he gave me the original ‘pencil’ with the original asking price (of course, because we hadn’t negotiated anything at this point). This wasn’t accurate because we went through three of these, the initial one which had an estimated interest rate which I returned because I wanted an actual rate to compare against my own financing, the second with the actual rate which I made my counter off on, and the third with the final rate and dollar amount which apparently disappeared. Basically they claimed that I hadn’t negotiated the price at all, and of agreed to the Lojack fee (So I spent two hours at a dealer negotiating to pay them exactly what they were asking in the first place???). I KNOW we had an agreed upon price as I was texting my wife updates during the entire transaction including the final dollar amount and rate. It would take a really extraordinary series of events for the three people on the dealership working on this deal to somehow magically not know what price we ended up at.
At this point Jimmy starts to infer that I had «agreed» to the price and that I had to sign the paper (Oh really?!) so I got up and walked out and was promptly followed. He admitted that maybe a mistake was made and maybe we could work something out. I agreed to return if they would meet a lower dollar amount for my trouble (another $ 200 off and no LoJack fee) and basically being called a liar, but also because mistakes happen and maybe something got mixed up.
However, my suspicions were confirmed when I met with the Manager who told me «yeah I can get you that car for that price» then promptly tried to get me to agree to the original asking price (AGAIN!?!). When I countered he said «I signed off on the deal and you never negotiated anything», again a lie. Finally it came down to him saying «well we can’t come off the price because it’s already on sale anyway» (WHY didn’t you tell me this when I made my first offer?!) But hey, they would take the LoJack off the car for me (earlier they told me that it can’t be removed). When I walked out the door I let them know that I’d never be back to which the manager responded «whatever».
This was BY FAR the sleaziest experience I have every had in a car dealership. As a long time Ford fan, I can only shudder to think how many people they’ve taken advantage of.

Found a great deal on a Nissan NV200 online and had the good fortune to have Dan «The Man» Lamar call me up for an appointment. He had the car ready to take on a test drive. Dan answered all my questions in a down-​to-​earth way, he’s well informed, and even got us a better loan rate than our credit union offered. We were in and out in about 3 hours. I’m happy with my «new» used car and glad Dan served us.

The staff are so friendly, however if you make an appointment for test drive, you must expect at least 30 minutes delay.
If you are test-​driving a car you have seen online be careful, check every aspects of the car. The car I did test drive had some amazing pictures online. They claimed it haven’t had any accident, but the body of car was full of huge scratches and the engine had serious problem.
If you can, take the car for an inspection before you buy it.

I brought my Fusion in for an oil change last October. It took all day due to them being under staffed (that’s what I was told). A couple months later I noticed my car leaking engine oil. I brought it to a different shop to have it checked out. I was informed that because of Leif Johnson Quick Service my oil filter was loose (due to it not being properly installed) and my splash guard was missing four bolts to hold it in place. When I brought it back to the Leif Johnson Quick Service, I had to wait several hours for them to replace the four bolts. When I checked out, no apologies and they told me that I my splash guard had a scratch on it. Suggesting I had bottomed out. Which I haven’t. Even I had it would not explain the missing bolts and loose oil filter. I will not be going back to this location to have car worked on and thought I would warn others.

I came to look at a Mercedes with my boyfriend. We had been looking for a particular model for some time, a 2-​seater to help you all out with this story. We drove 25 miles one-​way to see this car and the salesperson (Jerry I think) told us that he would have to be in the car for the test drive. That leaves me out to either sit in the car or the showroom. What a bunch of s#it! How are we supposed to test a car together if one person isn’t in the car?!? I guarantee I won’t buy this car from Leif Johnson, nor will I ever buy a car from them.

My partner and I visited this location yesterday, December 29, and found a car we truly enjoyed. We went in with already being approved and having the paper work to prove that we were. we talked with Craig and he was ready to make the sell, however they could not get the price below 20k. He said well let me see what the finance manager can do about maybe getting you another loan. Next think you know a man named Jimmy Cruz is trying to get us to sign a loan that 4% higher then what we were already approved for and all he kept saying was you can always refinance in 6 months and can you not get 500 dollars today. We told him no thank you and we left. Then, today, December 30^th, we looked online and the car was dropped over night to 17,200 and we called back in and inquired if the vehicle would be under 20k out the door with tt&l and we were told yes by some man. Not even 5 minutes later we get a call from Craig asking how the car buying was going and we told him we just got off the phone with a man and he said that the car price had been dropped and that it would fall under 20k. We told him we were looking to come back into day. He flat out asked us if we were going to use their finance and we said no we would be using our own. That Jimmy said we could use yesterday, however he could not get the car price low enough to match out financing. Craig told us to hold and I could hear them whispering in the back ground about the car and how we saw it lower online and then next thing you know Craig is back on the line saying they will no longer accept our financing and we will have to use there’s.
****This seems very slimy and shady that just yesterday they were able to accept our financing and then today they can’t because it would fit with in the price. I will be contacting bbb****

I had a pretty good experience here, although I didn’t buy a car. My old car died and I was using a rental while searching for a new car. Leif Johnson Super Store was my first stop during my search for a car. I saw a Fiat 500 Pop at Leif Johnson listed on
for a good price and I wanted to test drive it. Kevin was my car salesman, and seemed happy to assist me even though I didn’t make an appointment. Even though the price on the car was higher than I expected, he said they would honor the price I saw online. We took it out for a test drive and he encouraged us to get on the interstate to get a feel for how it would drive, he said we could even take it on I 35 but I preferred to avoid that torture! When we got back to the dealership he offered us water and asked if we were interested in any other cars. I mentioned another car I was interested at another Leif Johnson location and he offered to transfer it over to make it easier for me to test drive it. There was no pressure and he treated me with respect, something other car dealerships failed at. Ultimately I bought a car from another dealer, but my experience at Leif Johnson was one of the most pleasant ones during my search.

First let me say, I got a great Tacoma truck at a decent price from Leif Johnson, but they are very weak on support after the sale. My truck came with one key, Alex said he would follow-​up on the other key and the key to the tool box on the back. After a week, I called him, he was out of town, someone else said they would get the key, then didn’t. I called Alex a week later he said he would follow up — and I should call him back to check to see if he found it. Very unprofessional for a salesman to tell me to call HIM back, he should have offered to look into it and give ME a call back. I did call him back and he was out of the office. Bottom line, I never got the second key if there ever was one. On another note, when I went to test drive the truck before I bought it, Alex said he would ensure that the truck was transferred from the Koenig store. I told him what I time I would be there, when I arrived, had to wait 30 minutes for the truck to arrive from the other store.

I did not experience any of the negative things posted below, though maybe those employees are gone. I worked with Kevin to test drive and buy a 2006 Mustang, and he was beyond helpful, having the car transported from another location. We took it for a spin and I loved it. My other obstacle was I was trying to get out from under a car with a lot of wiring issues and I still owed on it. I explained this to them and they worked the deal so thy bought the old one, I didn’t owe on my old car and the payments were in my range. Jimmy was the manager and was nice to work with. I was out of there in a couple of hours.
Also, I had to bring the Mustang in for a water leak issue the week after buying it — a Mustang problem in general, and Annette at the Quick Service was super helpful in taking care of it and making sure the dealership took care of the issue since I had just purchased the car. So far so good with these folks!

Zero stars!- I didn’t get the impression that they are professionals. We drove up, last night at 8:00. We got out looked around at some cars and there is NO hours listed on the door. We have no idea when they close, lights were on, employes were in there standing around, chatting, looking at their phones. We approached the door at like 8:15 and someone scampers over and SHUTS OFF ALL THE LIGHTS, right in front of us. With out a word. We drive around for a minute, and they are just chillin in there, hiding. RUDE RUDE RUDE! How about letting us know you are closed and welcome us to come back in the morning, maybe hand us a business card or something? Hey dudes, you are not getting any commission off me. And you have no people skills, get a new job.

The quick service is the slowest service I’ve ever received for an oil change. 2 hours with only 2 people in front of me is ridiculous. The staff is disgruntl and it’s clear there are management problems. It takes a lot for me to give a negative review but this place deserves it. Wow.

had a great experience with Dan Lamar from Leif Johnson Ford. I test drove a car with him the other day and I ran over a metal shard and flattened the tire. This might freak some folks out but I have him hot on the trail trying to find me the perfect car in my price range. I haven’t bought from him YET but I will. He is great and will do everything he can for you to find a car even if it’s not on his lot!

Had a good experience this past weekend when buying a vehicle for my sister.
The salesman «Foster» was very friendly and experienced. The dealership had a very good price on the vehicle we wanted and took care of us when it was time to make the deal.

If you are looking to buy a used car, the only name you need to know if «Dan Lamar». I had such a great experience with him, I can honestly say this is the first car that I feel good about purchasing (and I have owned 6 cars in my life — so far). :)
Dan was eager to help, but I felt that he listened to what I was looking for, and gave me top rate service. He loves what he does and he’s good at it. He said «I would rather have someone have a good experience with me and not buy a car, then to have them have a bad experience buying a car from me».
If you are looking to buy a vehicle, take the time to talk to Dan Lamar. I’m glad I did, and I will again when the time comes.

Awesome dealership! Bought my bad ass new rig there not to long ago and everything went perfect. They where quick, courteous, knowledgeable and best of all gave me a kickass deal. Kudos to these guys!

I had a really bad experience and problems with Leif Johnson Ford and one of their internet (Craigslist) used cars they were selling.
I called them and setup a time to test-​drive the car. I drove the car, loved it, talked to the salesman (again) an hour later and he sent over a final deal, I accepted to told him I’ve have the bank loan the next day.
I come back the next day with a Cashier’s Check from the bank… and the salesman already sold the car. After we made a deal and I got the bank loan, after we agreed it was a done deal. The salesman told me that he had actually made another deal on the car with another guy — before I even came in to do the test drive. What a slimy move.
I realize that this is an industry with questionable sales tactics, but come on… it’s 2012 — can’t we improve just a little?
Bad experience and lesson learned, I won’t ever consider buying a car from Lief Johnson Ford.

I sold my Nissan 350z to Leif Johnson through Tiana, and it was the easiest thing I’ve ever done! Tiana gave me a great quote, I accepted, and then she handled all the paperwork. She was quick to communicate and the whole process was a breeze. I will continue to refer people to Tiana at Leif Johnson! Thanks!

Not too long after I wrote my first review, Tiana L., an internet sales consultant for Leif Johnson, contacted me. She told me even the other employees didn’t like the salesman I dealt with and that he was now «back in Dallas.» At that point I’d already bought a car, but I wanted to give them another chance, so…
I’ve noticed the $ 8.99 oil change sign on their service department building. That is CHEAP and Tiana said it’s true. No appointments, just walk-​ins, so I called ahead to check if they were busy (her advice). I thought maybe you’d have to bring your own oil or something (you don’t).
When I got there they said I could do synthetic oil for around $ 36 or regular oil for $ 16. I got the regular one since it was a lot closer to the advertised price.
Maybe you have to buy your car there to get the oil changed for under $ 10? Or request that they don’t change the filter?
For $ 16 the service guys will change out the oil and put the reminder sticker on your car. They don’t do anything else (because I had a tire pressure light on that they didn’t mention, even when I said I was about to drive to New Orleans that weekend) and for that price and I wouldn’t really expect it.
I’m updating to 3 stars because it was nice of Tiana to reach out to me, the guy I had the terrible experience with doesn’t work there anymore, and it was an okay price on the oil change.
The door that connects the garage to the waiting area of the service center is loud when it slams, and people were constantly coming in and out… not so pleasant. Everyone was nice but I might try going to a Jiffy Lube or something with a coupon to get a more full-​service experience for a few more dollars.
