Magnolia Montessori For All

I’ve been so, so impressed with the education that both my sons receive at Magnolia Montessori For All. All of my sons’ teachers treat my children with the same (or more) love, care, and patience that I show. I couldn’t have asked for better caregivers and role-​models for my children to develop alongside. I feel so lucky that the faculty of Montessori For All are the people helping my children figure out who they are in the world and what problems that they’re going to solve as they gain more and more skills.

This is our second year at this school and we love it. The administration, staff and guides are all incredibly dedicated to making the learning experience for these children the best it can be. The surrounding community of caregivers cover all walks of life and there is an overall temperament of acceptance and inclusivity.
We watched our kindergartener enter school last year with trepidation and were so thrilled to see him fall in love with learning in this setting. One of the things we are most amazed at is his attention span growth. At home he often puts down whatever media/​electronic gadget so that he can work on a project he’s decided he wants to do. He doesn’t get much media so for us this says a lot and we credit it to the work periods in the Montessori method.
Our daughter has come home from her preschool singing (literally) it’s praises. She is brand new to the preschool and it’s such a joy to see her excited about her school.
The exterior aesthetics of the school are still getting established as its a new property, but the interior of the classes and deck areas have amazing materials and such a peaceful beauty to them. I actually appreciate the natural playground setting. For me it fosters imagination and makes it different than the playgrounds etc that we go to on our off time.
There are areas for growth, but with the hands on involvement, vision and work ethic from the principal and staff at this little school I have no doubt things will continue to get better.
I’m giving 5 stars because my kids happy to be at school means the world to me.

It should be noted that the review dated 9÷9÷14 was written only 3 weeks after the school had opened. Snap judgements are never a good way to evaluate anything. Good things take time and patience and many of the issues mentioned in the negative review have since been resolved.
As we close out 2014 and several months of my son being a part of the the MMFA community, I can’t say enough good things about this school. Time and time again I have found myself telling friends and other parents (that are not a part of the community) how grateful I am for the leadership in the school, and the thoughtfulness that goes into the guiding and educating our children. My husband and I have regularly turned to each other out of awe that our child gets to participate in such an amazing school. It feels like the best dream come true.
My son has blossomed under the instruction and leadership of his guides. He is in kindergarten (part of Children’s House) and we have seen his math and sciences skills explode (he can add/​subtract triple digit numbers because of the Montessori stamp game!), his interest in other subjects grows exponentially (art, writing, reading), while his compassion and thoughtfulness of his classmates and others have developed to levels previously unseen. Our son is energized, excited about learning, and feels safe. In talking to other parents, I know he is not the only one.
I love that my child has recess twice a day on the grassy playground (yes, the grass sprouted!), he can choose to take his classwork outside onto the tables on the decks that are right outside of the classroom (and very secure). He spends much time caring for the gardens outside. There is no nature deficit happening here.
As a parent, we have loved the emphasis on community and gathering together to know and support each other on our parenting journeys. We have made some wonderful friends already in the short time we have been at the school. There has never been any feelings of ‘snobbery’ — only inclusivity, kindness, and respect for others. The cultural diversity of the school is high, and communication that is done online is also sent home in newsletters in the child’s folders in multiple languages every time.
I am looking forward to watching my child thrive and grow under the instruction and leadership of the passionate teachers in this school.
