Specialties

Marmalade Skies is a walk-​in arts & crafts studio for all ages. Try a variety of projects like mosaics, découpage, collage, painting, and more! Here, artists help get you started and then you do-​it-​yourself from there. From here to there, we have FUN with art!

We also host adult BYOB nights every Wednesday and Thursday, featuring different paintings and crafts. These are offered by our in-​house instructors and local artists. Check our web calendar for details and registration.

We also display and sell crafts made by local artisans.

History

Established in 2007.

Formerly owned and founded by Debbie Tawse in 2007, a group of teachers and professionals purchased the business and re-​opened in 2013. We have rebuilt and rebranded and have even more fun to offer everyone.

Took a group painting class with Brie last week. We had an awesome time — even for us self proclaimed «non-​artists!!» The studio (and Brie) are incredibly inviting and just put you at ease. We had a great time and can’t wait to go back again!

Awesome place if you love to craft. They have everything you need and the possibilities are endless. I took my two stepdaughters and my cousins daughter; ages 8, 9, and 10. They loved it as well. I brought them there for my 8 year old’s bday and my 10 year old said she wanted to come
For her birthday as well. It was a hit :) also, the staff is very helpful if you get stuck with trying to figure out what to make.

Great time was had by all!!! Debbie, the owner and the great instructor, Olga were gracious and helpful during our girls’ night out. We made a cute little découpage piece as our project all the while noshing on the hors d’oeuvres that we brought and drinking our wine. There were interesting projects all over the place that make you want to come back and do more. My sil is an art teacher and had a fabulous time discussing the various things with them. We found out that you can have kids parties as well! Recommend highly!

I wouldn’t call this an art school at all. My friend and I bought a groupon that gave us ½ off a painting class. We went, and the artist had some samples of art pieces we could paint. We picked out what we wanted to paint and other than mixing colors for us, she did absolutely nothing. She walked around, said that things looked good, gave us more paint, and that was all. There was no instruction whatsoever and it was supposed to be a «class» NOT a «walk in and create.» You’re better off going to Painting with a Twist where they actually show you, step by step, what to paint (plus they have bring your own wine). I’m glad I had a groupon because otherwise it would NOT have been worth it.

We’ve used Marmalade Skies for many activities, including a birthday party, summer camp, individual art lessons, ladies’ night out, and drop-​in crafts. The teachers are outstanding at helping to foster a fun, creative atmosphere.
They have multiple projects to choose from, including découpage and mosaic tiles, which are the most popular with my kids. My daughters recently took a friend in and they all made bath salts with Olga. My 10-​year-​old has weekly art instruction from Carolyn, and really enjoys creating on canvas. Last summer, they did a week long camp with Barbara and I was amazed at the variety of sculpture projects they brought home.
Debbie is almost always on hand to offer creative ideas to make your art project really shine! Their hours are convenient for open studio time, classes and birthday parties.
