Pies are our business, both sweet and savory. We make all of our pies from scratch onsite. We source ingredients locally whenever possible. Our best sellers are Honey Pecan, Buttermilk and Key Lime. Pies are available in a 4″ individual serving size but we will make a whole 9″ pie of any of our offerings with a little notice.

History

Established in 2015.

We actually started during ACL of 2015 as Over the Moon Pies. Realizing the name and the tag line were confusing customers, we hired a graphic designer to rename us, give us a logo and a brand that Austin could identify with thus was the birth of Moontower Pie Works.

The menu has also changed. In the beginning, we offered meat pies which had a very short shelf life so we discontinued them but will bring them back when our following has built up a bit more because they are delicious and we believe Austin will want them. Of course, if a customer wants them now, we can make a 9″ order with 24 hour notice.

Business Owner

After spending 25 years in the insurance industry, I wanted to do something for me that I was passionate about and allowed creativity. I love to cook but wasn’t quite confident that I was ready to start my own business. I signed up for bakery certification with Le Cordon Bleu in Austin. After attending classes for six months, I had the opportunity to buy a food trailer and felt comfortable starting my business. Voila! Moontower Pie Works was born.
