omg what great customer service. My daughter was doing some probuono legal work in Austin when she became sick. She was doing this as part of her alternative spring break program from law school. Unfortunately her hotel was not conveniently located and nobody in the hotel could help nor did they want to. I googled pharmacies that deliver and came across Northwest Hills. Toni was excellent. She prepared my daughter’s package and arranged for it to be delivered. Unfortunately the hotel could not locate my daughter as a guest so the package could not be left. Toni was great about getting the package resent to my daughter at the same hotel. If I am ever in Texas, I would definitely stop by and say hi and thank you for all the kindness and compassion that she provided.

I worked with Northwest Hills Pharmacy and Florist for my wedding flowers. The shop is so cute and the staff are friendly Shannon was so helpful and worked with us on our color scheme and budget for the event. She took the time to design and put together LOVELY arrangements that reflected our personalities! Highly recommended!

Good job, Sharon! She is the florist that helped us to arrange flowers for the wedding party. She was very attentive, patient, considerate and experienced! We first thought it must cost alot, but Sharon totally made everything well according to our budget and wedding theme. Even they closed on Memorial Day, she did manage to have somebody at the store waiting for us to pick up the flowers. Fresh and beautiful! This store is a throwback to a time when the neighborhood store served many purposes. The name of the store is misleading since they offer so much more than prescriptions and flowers. They like to call themselves «your neighborhood department store» and that name is apt.
If you’re a guy and need to find a unique gift for your «significant other,» then you can’t do any better than this place. They also offer gift-​wrap on anything you buy, which is very welcome for a guy who uses gift bags, and then only when completely necessary. Since The Cadeau closed, I’m pretty sure they are the only store in town that carries Neuhaus Chocolate, some of the finest real Belgian chocolate you can buy.
Another thing that needs to be pointed out… they have WORLD-​CLASS customer service. There is no way you will find better customer service at any other retail store. I’ve had the good fortune to shop in different kinds of stores all across our great country. Big stores, small stores, locally-​owned and chains. Without question, the best customer service experiences I’ve had have been at this store.
Besides all these things, the prior store manager from the Far West location is pretty darned cute. Those that know me personally will know why I say this.
It does stink the Far West location closed, but I know a lot about this store and believe me when I say it’s a good thing it closed. It’s harder and harder for local stores to compete. Do Austin a favor and support this fine establishment.

I contacted Northwest Hills regarding flowers for my wedding. Understand that we decided on March 28, 2008 to get married on April 25, 2008. (gasp!!!) I met with Shannon on a Thursday afternoon with a few pictures in hand (my dress, the jr bride’s maid dress, tuxes, and some bouquet ideas) and she got me. I was very specific on some details (light blue hydrangea) but fuzzy on others – and she pulled the colors together perfectly. and they’ll arrange with the bakery to deliver at the same time in an effort to properly apply the cake topper.
**Update: The flowers were wonderful. Just what we wanted. However, they were not delivered at the same time as the cake, and as I was having my hair done, the cake topper was still in the fridget when I arrived at the event. Not terrible – just one more thing I had to do.

I miss the Far West location. They closed due to an evil landlord (seriously) and I have not gotten over my grief yet. However, the Davenport location will do but gets only 4 stars because Charlotte is not there.
Northwest Hills Pharmacy & Florist is «not just a pharmacy». Trust me on this. The store has a very cool boutique with unique clothing and shoes. I love their jewelry selection – everything from costume to silver to pearls and beaded items. They also carry gourmet Neuhaus chocolates from Belgium. Beautifully boxed and wrapped, those Belgians know how to create wonderful chocolate treats. You have to try this chocolate!
And the florist is amazing. We have purchased Homecoming wristlets here for years that are created with tiny seed pearls and beautiful rose buds. I have been the fortunate recipient of several bouquets which are always stunning. As other Unilocalers mentioned, they have a stationary section where you can order invitations or personal stationary.
I love to pop in to select a gift for someone and receive free gift wrap. They carry greeting cards along with boutique clothing, cookbooks, pottery, hosiery, coffee, Longhorn and Aggie items and so much more. Oh, they actually do have a pharmacy but that is such a small part of their personality. And I almost forgot, free coffee while you browse.

i have been the incredibly lucky recipient of several floral arrangements from northwest hills. i am SO glad that my esteemed partner found this place and has decided that i apparently deserve nothing but the best. because this place is, without a doubt, the best. i hope he never goes anywhere else!
he tells me that the people at nw hills are super helpful and friendly — and i can vouch that the end results are sheer visionary and olfactory nirvana.
accuse me of floral snobbery, but i have, over the years, given my SO a little guidance as to my likes and dislikes in the world of flora — the easiest being «no carnations». god bless him, he has committed this mantra to memory. but lots of place still try to sneak them in, by dying them different colors or calling them by another name. nw hills was easy — as soon as he mentioned my aversion, they said (in a non-​judgemental, friendly way) «we don’t carry those».
to the givers of floral arrangements i say: give these people your business, you will not be disappointed. and your lucky recipients will know in an instant where they stand.
P.S, I just wanted to add that my gorgeous floral arrangement is now one week old and still totally full and gorgeous. There are still stargazer lilies opening, the roses are still bursting, and the gerbers have not hung their heads. And the fragrance is still strong. I am so happy!

There’s a great joke in there somewhere about the Pharmacy & Florist combination, but I’ll be darned straightaway if I know what it is. What I do know for certain is that these guys have made a habit of taking the pain out of wedding invitation creation, and look effortless in doing so.
It’s a smooth operation, resulting in a differences you can see on the faces of the brides to be exiting (versus the harried entrance you often get on the other side of the equation). This place is, essentially, a testament to living well (or, if you count the pharmacy, living for certain) and the class is carried off with a sort of careful (but rarely precious) elegance. It’s a winner, and if you don’t believe me, ask that bride who just walked out of here with some amazing invites, and a big grin to boot.

The best florist in town, bar none. The staff is helpful, the selection is incredible, and their arrangements blow people away.
Once you find these guys, you’ll never buy flowers from anyone else again, unless you’re cheap.

I went to Northwest Hills Pharmacy last summer when helping a friend with some wedding invitations. We had them all designed and ready to go, but finding someone to print them turned into a complete nightmare! I have been doing print design work for several years, and have never had this much trouble finding someone print a project for me. Apparently, most printers won’t touch wedding invites with a 10 foot pole. Especially, if you want thermography.
After many headaches and much research, we found Northwest Hills Pharmacy. The lady in the stationary department could not have been nicer and more helpful. She told me how excited she was to help us get these printed. We got the invites, RSVP cards and special order envelopes back within a matter of days and at a price we all thought was reasonable. Saved our bride several hundred dollars over the designer invites she originally found online.

I had never heard of a florist-​pharmacy partnership until a friend suggested sending flowers from Northwest Hills on 360. (There’s a second location on Far West.) Admittedly, I have never set foot in the store, but I’ve had many-​a-​pleasant experiences ordering beautiful floral bouquets over the phone.
The employees are wonderfully helpful, patiently discussing what would be most appropriate to send. The lovely thing about the ordering process is that it’s so unstructured. You don’t call up and say, «Yes, hi, I’d like to order #3687 Happy Roses @ $ 79.99.» You call up and have a pleasant conversation that might go something like this:
NH: «Well, what colors does she like? How much would you like to spend?»
You: «I want a $ 60 bouquet with lots of color and something exotic. She’s a quiet person, but she loves bright reds and yellows.»
NH: «I know just the thing.»
And you’ll feel confident that they do, in fact, know exactly what you want. I guarantee your recipient will call the following day to gush about the flowers. Apparently the pharmacy has really standout gifts as well, and the wrapping is always complimentary. Oh, and have some free coffee while you shop.
