Objects of Confection is now Crema Bakery & Café!

Objects of Confection began as a holiday hobby for proprietress Jessica Forkner. She and a friend began making truffles to give as Christmas gifts, and each year they just got better and better. After approximately the millionth person told her she needed to sell her treats, she decided to make a go of it.

OOC began as a delivery-​only business, primarily for weddings and other events. Over time, though, we have developed a niche as the premier purveyor in Austin for highly customized cake ball displays that wow our clients and keep guests talking for months to come. (We’re also pretty easy to work with, if we do say so ourselves.)

In April 2013, OOC opened as a brick-​and-​mortar spot called Crema Bakery & Café. Same great service, same great treats — but even more to love!

Business Owner

Jessica grew up in South Texas but got to Austin as soon as she could, moving to attend the University of Texas in 1996. After a brief tour of the Southeast following her dreams of being a star journalist, Jessica returned home to Austin and started helping other people fulfill their dreams by working for a nonprofit. Since starting OOC in 2009, Jessica has realized three things: 1) being an entrepreneur is the second-​hardest job in the world (after being a parent), 2) making things that make other people happy is one of the most rewarding experiences in the world, and 3) regardless of how magical her chocolate creations are, ice cream will always be her favorite dessert.
