Patchmasters was founded in 2005 and the owner Carlos and his team have over 20 years experience in the field.

Business Owner

Carlos Vasquez is the president, founder and operator of the Patch Masters in Austin, Texas. He will personally take care and guarantee of all jobs performed by the crew of the Patch Masters.

He decided to form his own company after working for other companies and finding he was taking a lot of personal side jobs from customers who valued his skill, experience, and service.

Carlos makes sure he does the job right and really focuses on quality. His company will never rush a job or cut corners. A job well done and customer service is the most important.

We’re very happy with Carlos. He responded quickly, gave us a cost estimate based on a photo we texted to him and honored the price upon completion. He was courteous, friendly, did a great job and cleaned up when finished. We recommend him highly.

Carlos patched 6 different holes in our walls, from a nickel size to some that we’re 3″. They turned out beautiful. He retextured them so once they are dry we can paint them and no one is the wiser. I highly recommend him.

Carlos knocked it out of the park! We originally hired him to fix some big holes in our drywall. After he did a fast, affordable patch job, we had an idea to use wood flooring on the wall to improve the look of the room and add some needed protection. Carlos did the work in two afternoons and it looks absolutely fantastic. I can’t recommend him highly enough. He’s very reliable, fairly priced and great to work with.

We’re very happy with the work Carlos did on our walls. We had a protruding arched niche on our wall that was original to the house, but poorly done and not useful so we asked him to demo it and patch the missing sheetrock. We also had about 5 small patches that we wanted fixed from a previous owner, and asked him to install blocking behind our towel bar so the towel bar could be securely fastened to the wall. He took about half a day to do all of this work. He has reasonable prices, and the texture looks fantastic. We will definitely use him again!

I hired Carlos to repair some sheetrock in our garage ceiling. He arrived right as scheduled, did a great job, cleaned up the work site, and was very polite and courteous.

I just want to let you know my fantastic experience with Carlos of Patchmasters!
I called in a panic because we needed to get someone to patch some drywall in our garage because we are days away from putting our house on the market. I left a message w/​Carlos and he called right back. Within 10 mins he was at my house! He quoted a reasonable price to fix it later the same day.
He then arrived on time and noticed that a beam from attic had cracked. He went to Home Depot and got a beam and other material to push up the falling ceiling in the garage and to fix the beam. So instead of the 2 hrs he quoted to fix the drywall it took over 4 hours! When it was time to pay, he did not charge for the extra material, time going to Home Depot or time to fix our beam!
I highly recommend Carlos to anyone who wants an honest and reputable repair guy.

I really wish I would have hired a different company to do my house. I had some repairs done on the sheetrock. Repairs were fine.
But then I had the old popcorn ceiling scraped off and new texture and paint — all this was worse than terrible. As Carlos worked he made a dust storm. This dust coated everything in sight — and things out of sight. It managed to get into closed cabinets and left a fat layer of dust on everything.
Clean up afterward — I had to hire a company to vacuum the walls, have the carpet cleaned and have all the furniture cleaned.
I had to replace 2 ceilibng fans that Carlos just took loose and let drop on top of the plastic. The blades were coated with sheetrock and the motors were gummed up with more sheetrock. I did put one back up and turned it on. It shorted out due to the sheetrock goo inside.
I have been left to do all this cleanup myself. Carlos snapped a dry towel at a few things and said he was cleaning. Everything has to be washed — not dusted, but washed. I have had to throw away about 4 big trashcans of things so far. I am not yet finished cleaning.
One part that was really annoying is that I had to take apart all the cords from our computers and clean the layer of dust coating each cord.
Oh — I didn’t even mention the overspray. Probably the thing I hated worst were the hours. Carlos liked to show up just before lunch, work a while, take a lunch break and then work late into the night.
Overall experience was terrible. I am still working on recovering from this job. One more thing — Carlos never gave me an invoice so I could not claim the repairs on insurance.

I hired Carlos because of all the great reviews I saw here. He seemed like a great pick: reasonable prices, he showed up on time. it ended there. I hired him to replace baseboards and finish out some drywall work. The baseboard install was terrible, with bad cuts and large gaps in the corners. He said he would come back and putty them to fill the gaps. As I’m sitting on my couch I notice that the guy spraying the texture in my upstairs overlook was spraying in the open gaps from the plastic sheeting backdrop. This resulted in texture being splattered all over my (new) couch, living room wall, and me. At this point I got pissed. They started to clean up the spots with a wet rag which was not an acceptable cleaning job. They scraped the texture off the wall which left smudges and white spots where they took off the existing paint.
Playing the nice-​guy, Carlos swore he would be back to re-​paint the wall and fill the gaps. I haven’t seen him since. No response to my calls.
I’m not sure why he was so terrible for me and not for others, but be warned. He screwed me big time.

Carlos and his crew were on time and did an excellent job. They painted two coats of light grey on my master bedroom walls in no time at all! The cutting in was clean even with our popcorn ceiling. They may have left my room cleaner after the painting then when they started! Will be doing business with them again — the price is fair and the work is exceptional. Thank you Carlos!

My wife and I had a 10am appointment. At 10:15am he hadn’t shown up, so we called to find out what happened, but no answer. Carlos called us back saying he was 7 minutes away. After another 15 minutes with still no show, we called Carlos again, and he gave us some excuse that his GPS wasn’t working. Patchmasters might do a good job, but obviously he didn’t want our job.
We waited for him with our realtor just standing around. If only he called us before and letting us know he’s running late, it may have turned out different.

Patch Masters preformed their first job for us in the beginning of 2011, it was a small drywall repair in one of the condos that we manage.
The job was completed on time and in a very professional way.
Since then Patch masters have preformed many more projects for us such as repairs and painting in all the properties that we manage.

I do some contracting work around town and hired Carlos and Patchmasters to do some drywall work and some painting. The combination of good price and quality work was very unusual. He was really good with fitting the work into a difficult job schedule. I will definitely call him again and if you need drywall work or painting, I suggest you call him too.
