Perfect Floors

I’ve used Perfect Floors for two different homes and a condo in Austin over the past several years. From Chad’s timely and professional estimates to Manny & his crews installation of carpet /​hardwood floors /​tile work — they’ve delivered every time. Vanessa has been highly responsive and professional in terms of service as well. Would highly recommend their service.

The Perfect Floor installers have just left and I am beyond happy with their work. The two installers were professional, detail oriented, efficient, knowledgable, kept a clean work site and most of all easy to work with. They worked with me while I hand picked the boards I wanted in my entryway. My husband and I were planning on doing the floor install ourselves but after seeing these guys work, we realize we made the right choice having a professional do it. After investing in the flooring material, we didn’t want to take a chance ruining the wood or installing the floor improperly. Gerardo and Mauricio. GREAT JOB! We’d recommend you easily.

Horrible customer service. Flakey, unresponsive and unreliable employees. Chad came to my house to do an estimate. He said he would get back with me the same day. I’ve left messages and no word. It’s been three weeks.
After asking my neighbor for the name of a contractor, she told me that she had work done by Perfect Floors. Apparently, they damaged her cabinets and dry wall during installation. She has asked for the last six months that they return to repair the work, but all they do is avoid and dodge her calls.

Update: Last year I wrote a review after having some issues with getting my floor fixed by Perfect Floors. Well, I am happy to say the problem ended up getting fixed. I was contacted by Chad Tafs about 9 months after I had given up on getting my floor repaired and he was very apologetic that my problem was not taken care of initially. He was over at our house very quickly after that contact to help solve the issue with our sliding board. After seeing our floor, he said it was an easy fix and I had two of his co-​workers over to work on the floor within a couple of days. I am happy to report, our floor is now fixed! While I still don’t like the way the ball was dropped last year, I greatly appreciate the follow-​through of Chad to help resolve this issue and how quickly it was taken care of once the mistake was identified. They get huge points in my book for correcting this issue.

From my first meeting with Chad Tafs I was impressed with his knowledge. I trusted him from the beginning and knew the product and choices of flooring he introduced me to were right for our lake house. The two men who actually laid the flooring were amazing hard workers, always on time and working long days. I found them to be extremely trustworthy and helpful. I would highly recommend Perfect Floors and the four men that were all very competent in their various roles of delivering a beautiful end product.

I’ve used Perfect Floors twice now (upstairs and down) and have been impressed. The guy who came a few days ago was brilliant. A very nice man who worked for hours and hours — a twelve hour day to finish the job. The quotes are very easy to decipher and have been right on the button as per amount of material needed to do the job. Also, when one of the workers forgot to plane a door, a man was sent out the very next day to sort out the problem. A pleasurable experience just because it could have been a nightmare and I love my new floors.

Highly recommend Perfect Floors! After obtaining several quotes from various companies, we chose Perfect Floors to install 1200 sq ft of engineered hardwood and 2400 sq ft of carpet in our home. Chad Tafs has many years of experience in the business, educated us so as to help us choose the products that would fit our family’s needs, and was responsive to all of our requests. All of the work was done professionally and the installers worked tirelessly to get the job done quickly. We are extremely happy with the way the floors have transformed our home and we have had many compliments on how amazing the wood looks and how soft the carpet feels. Yes, yes, yes! Perfect floors would come highly recommended from me. We hired them to lay engineered hardwood in our new home and couldn’t be happier with the quality of staff that laid the floor as well as the final product. The floors look amazing and the staff stayed extra late to get the job done a day early!

Terrible experience never do business with them. First crew was called off the job because they were not going to take up the flooring thin set that was used to lay ceramic tile they were just going to lay wood over that! Lots of damage from the second crew installed a towlet with no bolts screwed down and crooked. Damaged cabinets in utility room moving washer and dryer, put back moulding with decking screws broke molding. They installed t moulding that made me trip going go a room looked like the 70’s very big and tall moulding going to bedrooms. Constant calling and emails while I was trying to get these problems fixed on my own. I am trying to run a business while all this is going on. Good luck never again.

After obtaining several bids from various sources, we had Chad from Perfect Floors out, having been referred by the people at Floor & Décor. We liked what we saw and were told. and contracted with them to do the work.
They did an amazing job. We could not be happier.
Their workers were meticulous in their work. We had tile installed in the «versaille» pattern, and it came out beautifully. Two installers did the job, both with a computer printout of the pattern — the floors look incredible.
I highly recommend this company for tile installation — they showed up when they were supposed to, worked hard, were trustworthy, very friendly, and cleaned up after themselves.
If you have a tile job — give these guys a call — we’re sure glad we did!

I just had 900 square feet of engineered flooring installed by this company. After receiving their bid, which was very competitive, the specific material I wanted was out-​of-​stock. It was about 3 months later before the project could actually be scheduled, and this was not a problem for them. Angel and Francisco arrived on a Monday and by that Thursday the entire job was completed perfectly. Angel even spent most of one day hand matching stair material, including material that was milled as stairnose to match the flooring. It is perfect! Very professional, very responsible and cleaned up every piece of mess created. Fransico even swept the saw dust off of the front walkway before they left.
I highly recommend this company.

We used Perfect Floors at the suggestion of the folks at Floor and Décor Outlet. One bonus was their quickness in having our work scheduled. We had a window of about a week to get our solid hardwoods installed before we started moving into our home. They delivered the materials in time and finished the work they could complete one day early. The only reason it wasn’t totally finished was because Floor and Décor had to special order some T-​molding to match the wood we’d chosen. That came in about a week later, and Vanessa had a guy come back and finish that up at our convenience. I’m not sure how soon we’ll need a flooring company again, but I’ll be sure to give them a call. For what it’s worth, I never really had a problem getting in touch with anyone.

Business must be so good that they don’t return emails.
I asked about a small job at my home and nothing for 2 weeks.
Had they returned my email they would have found out that after this job I was planning on having the whole downstairs redone in tile.
Their loss.

When moving to S. Austin 3 years back, the flooring in the house was YEEECCCHHH! Builder grade carpet in living areas and bedrooms and pukey linoleum in kitchen and bathrooms = it ALL had to go.
I solicted several folks for references and pricing — but there was noticeable difference in working with Chad on this quote. He was very reasonable on pricing — and if I found the wood flooring cheaper on the internet, then that is where he would buy it = NO MARK UP on materials. I LOVE that!
Chad was direct, honest, he know the flooring business — and has incredible confidence in his partner Manny (who runs ALL of their installations).
In the end, they installed tile (in bathrooms and utility rooms), new carpet in bedrooms, and wood throughout the rest of the house. I got all of this for a price I thought was fair. The prep crew moved heavy furniture I was unable to and the install crew stayed until 9:00PM the last night touching up the adhesive on the wood floor — just in an effort to ‘give us our house back’. Manny (like Chad T.) was personable and very professional. He made several recommendations on transitions and his workers never complained even a little.
As far as contractors go, I give Perfect Floors my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION! Check ‘em out!
