Incredibly rude staff. And never argue with a customer that is not up to par on the product search you jack off. I went across the lot to Best Buy and got everything I needed with a smile and informative staff.

Two stars for having what I wanted. Minus three for being a jerk and making fun of me. So I get that this world is commercially driven and that having the latest gadget is important in your social cred. But when I come to Radio Shack frustrated because I’m looking for an adapter for my headphones and the clerk starts making fun of me for having a 3Gs(How LONG have you had that? You should trade it in. Does that even work?) it makes my hackles rise. He clearly wanted me to feel bad enough to trade in my phone. Even if I had felt abashed at having(gasp!) a 2 year old iphone, I wouldn’t trade it in here if it was my last option.

I wish I didn’t have to write this review because I have had great service at several Radio Shacks in the Austin area, but I will never step foot in this one ever again. I have visited this location several times as it is on the way home from work, and every time I go the place, it is usually a complete disaster. A few days ago I went in to purchase a $ 30+ item and expected to get out of there in a few minutes. But as soon as my «Friendly» Sales Representative saw that another customer was looking at cell phones, I was quickly abandoned for the larger sale, never to be spoken to again. I guess $ 10 Spiffs are more important than return customers. Unfortunately, this seems to be par for the course for this location. The visit before, I walked up to the counter that was covered with papers, returned items, and other random junk to speak to the clerk standing behind. I didn’t realize that the clerk’s time was more important than mine as he chose to finish his private cell phone conversation before speaking to me. After staring at him for several minutes, he finally ended his call and asked, «What do you want?» I responded, «I want another Radio Shack to open near here so they’ll close this one», and promptly left. Please, don’t waste your time and make the trek to another Shack store to get your electronics/nerd fix.

Again… I wish I could give this place negative stars. I must be a glutton for punishment, I cannot believe I went back there after the way I was treated last time. I was right by this store running errands and thought I would stop in because I was eligible for a phone upgrade. I received equally as appalling service as last time. This store needs a complete overhaul in terms of customer appreciation, service, management etc. I kinda wanna drive by and throw eggs at their windows(they are always dirty anyway) because the employees there are just so damned rude, hateful and unhelpful… but I won’t because I have a feeling that the people who work there hate their lives enough… obviously.
