Sandy’s Shoes

Love this place. Not only a great selection of shoes, but the employees really care about their customers. Their personal touch really makes the shopping experience the best.
Also, for the quality of their shoes, the price is pretty reasonable.

We’ve been buying shoes at Sandy’s since my daughter was 10 months old. Seven years later we remain loyal customers! The customer service is fantastic — they really understand kids and parents! The selection is great, even for narrow feet and their sales are frequent. Run… don’t walk to Sandy’s!

This place kept my sanity with three littles trying on shoes for back to school. Not only did the staff measure their feet but kept bring out shoes to help accommodate my child who could not decide which shoes to buy.
I went to different shoes places, big box, and I am lucky if I can get help finding the right shoe much less the littles sizes. Sandy shoes not only has the best customer service, but they carry quality shoes. You want quality shoes, excellent customer service ensuring you get the right fit, this is your place. I have been going to Sandy’s since I was pregnant with my second little. I have even found gifts, shoes for myself and a place where I don’t feel like throwing myself on the ground having a tantrum.
Thank you for keeping the parents sane! I will always go to Sandy’s!

My daughter is small for her age and so finding toddler shoes has been nearly impossible. I tried Target, Nordstrom Rack, kohl’s and numerous other places before asking friends where they go and find baby/​toddler shoes. Note to self — ask friends first! Haha.
One of my friends recommended Sandy’s and OMG they SAVED a me from I dunno weeks of shoe shopping torture! They measured her feet and told me she’s size 4.5 and I thought MAYBE she was a three because her size two shoes were getting tight. Eek. I didn’t want to spend $ 40 on shoes to be super honest but they gave me lots of recommendations and advice! The time savings, the aggravation savings and knowing she is in the right size were all worth every penny. The service is incredible. I went on a rainy cold weekday so I was In and out in five min. Easiest shopping experience ever (I hate shopping… so i value easy!!)

While they didn’t have what we were looking for, the employees are helpful to provide additional suggestions. They did appear to have a wide variety of children and even ladies shoes. Wil def be back next time I’m in town.

Great local place for kid’s shoes. They don’t sell many toys anymore, much to my kids’ chagrin, but they have lots of good shoes at relatively reasonable prices. Not cheap, but good stuff. Why don’t they sell light-​up Captain America shoes for adults?

I can’t imagine going anywhere else! Each time I go to Sandy’s, the staff are friendly and professional. They always measure my kiddos and bring out several shoes in their size to choose from. My kids (and I) always leave so happy with their new shoes. And, I really don’t see a huge price difference between Sandy’s and the department stores; the big difference is the service and that Sandy’s staff know what they are doing. I could not recommend Sandy’s more!

I went here for my son’s first pair of shoes because I happened to be in the neighborhood. I’ve returned here for every new pair, even though it’s far away from my home, because my experiences there are always A+.

Super helpful staff and more reasonably prices than another local shoe store in the area. My daughter loves the room of stuffed animal friends, and it’s a great place to pick up birthday gifts that aren’t cheapo plastic garbage.

We love this place. Twice a year, we go to Sandy’s to be measured accurately. For some reason, we’ve had troubles with measuring at other places. We can always find lots of cute shoes to choose from. You won’t be disappointed!

This is a good as a shoe store gets. The employees are very knowledgeable and very friendly. They love kids, which is important since the store is consistently overrun with rugrats! Prices are reasonable, especially considering the selection. My little girl always has to get a stuffed toy, jibitz or some other kid toy when she’s there. She LOVES going to Sandy’s. I wish there were more stores providing the level of customer service these guys provide, but sadly these kind of stores are quickly becoming a thing of the past.

Last time my 8 year old daughter needed walking/​running shoes, we went to 1379. Unfortunately, the shoes we bought there left us feeling underwhelmed, as did the shopping experience we had. This time I wanted to try a new place that was also local. I called Sandy’s, and the man on the phone said the store would be open until 5pm (on a Sunday) and he gave directions on how to get there. His instructions were clear and the store was easy to find (Sandy’s is in eye shot of Walmart on W. Anderson Lane).
At the store, the man was well-​mannered and attentive. He measured my daughter’s foot and explained to us the type of shoe my daughter would do better with. He impressed me by how treated my daughter with patience and respect appropriate for her age and the situation. He said he has six kids of his own and I believe that 100%.
Of the 6 pairs he brought to us to try on, there were 2 clear winners. We decided on an attractive pair of Saucony running shoes which were on sale for $ 39.99. We also picked up some new socks which my daughter loves. The whole experience was no more than 30 minutes and I’m really glad we got a good pair of shoes for a good price that fit her well.
We will definitely be going back; it was a great shopping experience and we got exactly what we came in looking for.

I decided to stop cheaping out and got my toddler some decent shoes. Enter Sandys. The gentleman who helped was quite delightful and you could tell that he genuinely liked children (not everyone does… I’m talking to you Fiat stroller thread). We found out my daughter has incredibly narrow, small feet for her age. That’s no matter for Sandy’s, we were outfitted in three pairs of shoes in no time!

This place really is «Woohoo! As good as it gets!»
Our routine during our first two years of babyness, we quickly realized that our little one had some chubbers feet. They were very wide and lots of cute little baby fat on top. So once he started walking, we knew we had to buy good shoes that wouldn’t hurt his feet. We went to Stride Rite and were always pretty happy there. Then, at 2 years old, we went to three different Stride Rites to find shoes, and only found 1 pair in all 3 stores. At the final store, this awesome guy who worked at Stride Rite told us to try Sandy’s Shoes.
This place is great. There is a great selection of shoes and we usually have at least 3 or 4 different pairs to choose from. All of the employees are super helpful and always great with the kids. There is a great selection of wide width toddler shoes, and extra wide toddler shoes (for the baby Flintstones feet like my little guy).
The hours are a little unfortunate, as we usually have to rush over there after work if we go during the week. If I had reviewed this 6 months ago, it would have been 5 stars hands down. However, they recently redid the store, adding in women’s shoes as well. When they did this, the toy store that they had was crammed into the entryway of the shoe store, and now everything is really really cluttered. It definitely takes away from the nice open feeling of a shoe store, and it sucks for a parent that you have to walk through a million toys before even getting in the store.
We will still go here for shoes, as we have always been satisfied with their selection.

Variety of active toddler footware? Hard to find brand that looks slightly dressy, but acts like an athletic shoe? Experts that know how to really measure a growing kids foot? Staff that know how to help mom get a squirmy-​distracted-​active kiddo in, measured, tried on and out without a nervous breakdown?
Yes. Yes. Yes.Yes.
Despite the recent changes, Sandy’s carries some hard to find brands of kids shoes. (See Kai Run is my current fav) There is a broad range of options. The place is compact, so be sure to tell the staff what you are looking for and your price range because you might be surprised by what they pull out. Shoe prices are what would be expected for solid kids shoes.
Here is my experience with the toy prices:
Purchased current Melissa and Doug pool toys today. The price was the same as on the Melissa and Doug website. — and after sorting out the deals… I think Sandy’s came out ahead.
Before I headed over, I did some comparison shopping on the web.
Price was the same on the Melissa and Doug website as at Sandy’s. There was a sale on the website+an online coupon, but the current deal at Sandy’s made the deal sweeter for my purchase.
Of course, deals change over time. but the base prices were the same for my purchase. It was great to really see the item before making the purchase.

I really like the selection of toys and shoes here. The people are very nice and my daughter loved the bug umbrellas. There were a lot of Melissa and Doug products which I really enjoy.
I do feel that for the most part the stuff was over-​priced. Maybe I’m a bargain shopper, however, I found a puzzle that I had purchased for my daughter at another shop. The price at Sandy’s was $ 16.99. I had paid $ 8.99. And I just can’t see paying $ 64.99 for a pair of shoes that my child will wear for a month if I’m lucky.
Even so, I thought the shop was quaint and I loved the house slippers. I’ll most likely go back for those!

After an incredibly disappointing experience across the street at KidOShoe, I headed over to Sandy’s.
The service was top notch. The woman who helped me was amazing. She told me that my son was a different size than KidOShoe, helped navigate their selection, helped us try on lots of shoes and also helped us try to find deals in the clearance section.
The selection is very good, although I do wish they had a bit more of high end shoes. They also have a fantastic sale section.
I love that they also have a rewards program so you can earn some additional discounts off future purchases. With the way kids grow and the OUTSTANDING service, I will be back.
This is now my favorite shoe store. Love it.

Feet that grow like weeds — thats what I have to deal with.
But I refuse to pay over $ 40 for shoes that will be worn for just a few months. I don’t like my kids tripping around in shoes that are way too big either, so stretching the time that these pricey shoes are used at the expense of my kids feet… no thanks.
I shop consignment stores, but now that they are over size 1 Youth it is really hard to find nice ones that don’t have strong reminders of the prior owner’s feet.
After searching for a store that offers quality shoes at an affordable price, I found Sandy’s. I’m still a fairly new customer, but so far they accommodate my requirements. One criticism: A bigger selection would be fantastic (less toys, more shoes).

Have a kid with hard-​to-​fit feet? Sandy’s is your best bet in town. Everyone on staff knows how to assess your child’s feet and advise you on which size, brands, & styles could work well for you. These shoes are NOT cheap — brands like Stride Rite, Jumping Jacks, Teva, Primigi, Robeez — but they are well made.
Our particular issue is super chubby, stumpy feet that are too young to wear complicated, heavy, lugged sole boots or fancy sneakers. My son wears double extra wide shoes, and only a couple of brands even make his size. Beside going into debt to get some custom-​made kicks, Sandy’s was our only hope. (Yep, we had already tried
, but after the disappointment of returning 3 pairs, we realized we needed live, experienced help to get a proper fit).
We went in on a weekday afternoon and there were only a couple of other customers in the place. Because I had called ahead, they already had our best bets set aside to try on. The helpful gentleman patiently fit the first pair onto my squirming son’s feet and eureka, they worked! Bonus, we were in and out in less than 20 minutes!
Other than kid shoes, Sandy’s carries a few lines for adults, like Earth and Simple, plus the dreaded (at least in my book) Crocs (if you like that sort of thing). Finally, they have an amazing variety of wooden puzzles and toys by Melissa & Doug, as well as a few other toys and gift items.
