Shiny Bubbles Cleaning

I purchased a voucher for a 2 hour cleaning and was very disappointed. Scheduling the appointment was a challenge and they were late. Kitchen counters were not cleaned and the inside of the microwave was not wiped down. There is a reason this company is always offering Morgans Deals… they are desperate for business!

Beware: I am pretty sure this business is not insured as advertised.
Lara McKeown, (owner of Shiny Bubbles) had been cleaning our house biweekly for a couple months before one of her helpers left a big olé bleach spot on our bedroom carpet near the master bath. «No big deal!» I thought to myself. «I mean, Lara has told me she is licensed and bonded (and the website says the same) so I just need her to put in the claim so my landlord doesn’t take this out of my deposit!» Oh how very naïve of me.
I brought this to Lara’s attention, and there seemed to be no dispute that this was an accident that happened on her watch. Several months have since passed of trying to get any traction on this, and Lara insists our landlord’s repair estimate is far too high. She also refuses to place a claim with her insurer, whose name we have never been able to get out of her. So what we are left with is owing our landlord $ 500 (to be extracted from our deposit) because we paid somebody come into our home and they damaged it. Awesome. Half the reason we hired a cleaning service was to keep our house in better condition for when we move out, but now we are just out several hundred dollars.
I realize this may have been a freak thing, but I have to say — Lara’s unprofessionalism in refusing to call her insurer is pretty telling. She may feel this is unfair to her, but it is undeniably unfair to us. The crazy part is that she is not even disputing that her employee damaged our home! She is just refusing to do anything about it.
Some other things I wasn’t crazy about, but lived with until this big to-​do ended our contract:
1. We have fingerprints all over our walls and doors that, even when we hired her for a deep clean, remained. When we pointed this out, they did a «wipe down» which, you know — didn’t solve the problem, so I had to do it myself.
2. Cobwebs have been accumulating, so I brought this up. She said she would take care of this, but missed about half of them and never again after that one time.
3. Never wiped down baseboards behind things. I’m talking a table in my bathroom with nothing on it that weighs about 2 lbs and has been collecting dustballs underneath. I mean, come on, I can see them without even moving it.
4. Does not do grout. At all. Even though the flier we got specifically said «sparkling grout,» when we arranged a deep clean to focus on grout she insisted that our inconsistently-​colored grout was just that color to begin with rather than just admitting she does not do grout as advertised.
5. Doesn’t actually mop, just Swiffers.
This arrangement has been most disappointing and is leaving me exasperated. I would strongly advise steering clear of this slippery one.
