Sicola’s Private Dining & Gourmet Catering

I attended a private event this past weekend and had the pleasure of tasting some of Sicola’s dishes… and I was VERY VERY IMPRESSED!
We tried the:
Beef Tenderloin — Blown away by the flavor!
Baked Salmon — very light and moist
Stuffed Zucchini — had a smoked cheese & garlic stuffing… simply delicious!
Chicken Salad Spinach Leaf Wraps — the chicken salad was out of this world amazing
Turkey Meatballs — tender and very lean
Sushi Rolls — I forget the names of the two that were served but both were exquisitely delicious
Deviled Eggs — I’m not sure what was in them but… WOW! Wow is exactly what they made me think of!
So, if you’re considering hosting a private event, I would Highly Recommend them.

You don’t see too many venues such as Sicola’s reviewed on Unilocal,since they exist solely for private parties and catering. So, I am Unilocaling this review for all of those budding brides, overachieving graduates, soon-​to-​be silver anniversary goers, and corporate office managers.
I enjoyed a delightful lunch at Sicola’s for this year’s office holiday party. The venue is very nice, rife with tiled walls (see photo), well-​appointed settings, smart, efficient servers, and joyful food. Our entrée choices were either beef tenderloin or grilled mahi mahi. I always go for the fish when these are the banquet options. I enjoyed it very much, and it tasted as though it was cooked to order (which I am sure it was). Hot, herbed squash proved tasty, but I have to admit, I did not eat the mashed potatoes due to my carb aversion.
We started with mini crab cakes (and I mean mini — like .25 oz each) and mushroom quiche, both tasty and deserving of my approval on the «pre-​appetizer» list. Salad was a cool, crisp mix of mesculin greens with a tangy vinaigrette.
I only enjoyed half of my dessert (again, carbs). We had a warm apple pie with cinnamon ice cream. Lovely, unpretentious, and yummy.
I knocked off a star for the waitress’ forget fullness. I ordered tea for myself and a colleague, and we were left in the dust. What also contributed to this star drop was the obvious juxtaposition between actual venue and the bathroom. The storefront has the gorgeous dining area, well-​appointed photo studio, a knock-​out jewelry store, all rife with style. However, he men’s room was not up to bar with its cheap, dated Mexican tile and clearly hurting Formica counters. It was also kind of dirty, which is not acceptable, considering our group was the only one there.
So brides and hopefuls, get over to this venue and check out their offerings. We had a relaxing, joyful time, and so will you.
